Pat Robertson[edit]

I reverted your edit to Pat Robertson because negative assertions like the ones you added require reliable sources, per WP:BLP. Please do not restore the material without verifiable references to such sources. Will Beback talk 07:01, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. Pete McCloskey is quite a guy, and I'd tend to trust what he says. However, Wikipedia rules are very strict when it comes to writing about living people like Robertson. McCloskey's book appears to be self-published (Eaglet Books has a residential address in the same town where McCloskey lives). Therefore we cannot use it directly as a source. However we can use the Time magazine citation. I've also found some newspaper coverage of the libel case, which we can use. The libel case has been in the article before, I'm not sure why it was deleted. Let's discuss this further on the article talk page, talk:Pat Robertson#Libel case.
