Welcome[edit]

Hi Philip,

I just saw your edits to the Mihail Ilyich Surkov article while checking the recent changes list. Don't worry about the tags that Karl put at the top - they're not such a serious matter, really suggestions to improve the page. I've added some categories to the article, and also linked some terms. If you have some reliable sources to support the article, that would be great too! I'd suggest that a Google Books search should probably give you what is needed. I'm now going to put a welcome template on your talk page with some useful links - I hope you like them. You might also like to check out WP:WikiProject_Military_history. --Slashme (talk) 15:16, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all :)[edit]

My email is schutzephilip@gmail.com

Note: A better way to do this is to go to your preferences and add your email address there. Then there will be an "email this user" link on the left-hand side of your user talk page which people can use to send you email, but your email address won't be known publicly. --Slashme (talk) 15:59, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to help! There are lots of good resources for new users on Wikipedia, but one of the best resources is always other users. If you are uncertain about anything, please drop another note on my talk page - I'd be very glad to help. Another good hint: find a page that is relevant to your interests, and check out the "View history" tab and the "talk" tab, and see who seems to know what they're doing: ask those people for advice as well! --Slashme (talk) 15:54, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of this deletion discussion[edit]

Hi Philip,

While looking for other versions of the guy's name, I came on a previously deleted page. We can't just re-create deleted articles, so I re-listed it for deletion, with the explanation that it was a formal move to ensure a consensus to keep the article, and "voted" to keep the page (note - the comments in deletion debates aren't votes, just statements of position.) I think there's no doubt about his notability. --Slashme (talk) 08:49, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
