Self-referencing

  • Thanks for the information regarding this [1] - I am going to go through each one next week. Any special rules/considerations I should know about?--VS talk 22:31, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Howdy - sorry to write to you so much whilst you are on a wiki break - no need to reply but just to inform you that I have started on this task. The message I have posted here may cause some reaction. I will be away over the weekend (visiting your neck of the woods to go to the AFL). We'll see how the user reacts - I hope he just understands the conflict of interest but if not then if I have to I'll go through the reporting mechanisms.--VS talk 03:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
70% or so of these now addressed. Reasonable correspondence ensues from editor on my talk page.--VS talk 08:12, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, thanks for your return message, I appreciate your words of encouragement. Footy trip was good - game was exciting with 35 goals kicked. In relation to self-references what I did was to go down the list and remove the self reference for 70% of article inclusion as a reference, with a suuitbale message at the edit summary, then leave a discussion point on the talk page. I also removed totally 3 links which were simply spam links in the content of the article. As you know I informed Tirin. He took it politely (probably even well) and I note that he has gone through to make discussion comments. Examples are Talk:Sydney Push, Talk:Friendly society, Talk:William Holman, and here - Talk:History of Freemasonry where another editor altogether has addressed the situation. Perhaps if you have a moment you could look at what's left as I'm sure I may have missed a few others?--VS talk 22:04, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah

I am a couple of years older than Chicken7 (13). Harrison-HB4026 10:56, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Thankyou for the compliments! With the DYK, you may have noticed my comment on VS' DYKs. I did not want to give him a DYK medal because I have already given him a couple of awards and I don't want to come around as a suckup so I thought you could give him one. Thanks Harrison-HB4026 12:02, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

P.S I think it is quite a shame that everybody I am in contact with has such bad taste in football codes :)

  • Hi Sarah. This is what a DYK Medal is, and I guess I can't sway your opinion and I have to make exceptions... because you are South of the Border :>

Issue

Sarah, you were noted as deleting some pages from which i had wanted to get some information for some research, they were for Channel 10 news readers Georgina lewis and max Futcher. I just want to know where you get the nerve to say they are no-name personalities. From down there in melbourne you have no idea about who is a notable person here in Brisbane so the fact that you deleted them is completey unjust. They are both senipor presenter at a major news organisation, and the fact is wikiedia is endless so its not like they are taking up space. if that was thj case then reall your page shold be de;leted as they have more profile than you.. Please reinstate the pages or offer a reasonable expplination as to why there were deleted!

I would also like to know why their pages were deleted. --splashmo 06:54, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, that's an interesting (not to mention rude and insulting) way to tell me you think I made an error and to ask to me to reconsider.

Given that you seem to have set yourself a mission of recreating the exact same content and defending articles created by User:SA TV, that you both take the same unpleasant "Well, you're not from Queensland so you don't know what you're talking about" attitude when addressing administrators, that you both make the same plethroa of langauage errors in articles and in talk comments, I feel there is likely one operator of both accounts. Please tag all the accounts you have created with the "alternate account" tag.

To address your comments and questions point-by-point:

  • You write: "I just want to know where you get the nerve to say they are no-name personalities". I have never said any such thing and I find your accusation very offensive. If you are going to have a go at people for (allegedly) saying things you disagree with, it would be nice if you would give the person a link to the comment you are referring to so they can work out what you are talking about. Both articles you ask about were tagged for requested speedy deletion by other editors as "db-bio". I reviewed the articles, agreed and deleted them under CSD A7(WP:CSD#Articles) which means that an article "does not assert the importance or significance of its subject." I have reviewed the articles again and I still fail to see an assertion of importance or significance. Whether these people are "no-name personalities" (your phrase, not mine) or not is really not the point. The point is whether the articles explain that they are notable broadcast journalists, how and why they are notable, important or significant.
  • You wrote: "From down there in melbourne you have no idea about who is a notable person here in Brisbane so the fact that you deleted them is completey unjust. " This is just offensive and state-centric idiocy. A person doesn't have to live in Queensland or Australia (I noticed you complained to a non-Australian administrator that he didn't know what he was doing when he deleted one of your newsreader bios because he isn't an Australian) to be able to read an article and look for an assertion of notability. It's just ridiculous to claim an administrator must live locally to evaluate an article and apply the appropriate policy.
  • "They are both senipor presenter at a major news organisation" Please read our cornerstone policies: notability, verifiability, no original reseach and for biographies of living people, WP:BLP is absolutely fundamental and non-negotiable. And if you still think, under our policies, these people are notable broadcast journalists then you need to explain how and why they are. And you need to support the claim of notability with reliable and verifiable sources. The Futcher article cited zero sources while the Lewis article cited one source which was really not acceptable because it was advertising material for a speaker bureau.
  • You wrote: "the fact is wikiedia is endless so its not like they are taking up space". Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not some sort of names database or promotional site. People need to be notable in their field of endeavour to warrant an article in an encyclopedia and their notability needs to be verifiable by reliable sources. The bulk of these recent fill-in news reader articles have been either copyright violations or they've been based completely on internal publicity material. This is not good enough. We need verifiable, independent reliable sources for biographies of living people.
  • "if that was thj case then reall your page shold be de;leted as they have more profile than you." I don't know exactly what you mean by my "page." I do not have an article in the mainspace. Presumably you are referring to my userpage? If so, your suggestion that my userspace should be deleted on the basis of notability is, frankly, absurd. Userspace and the mainspace, where the articles are located, are completely different parts of the site with completely different purposes and policy application.

I am concerned that these recent fill-in newsreader articles were all submitted by a person who posted a swag of articles which were blatant copyright violations. I am currently in the process of reviewing all articles contributed or substanitally edited by said user and all copyright violations will be speedily deleted. Sarah 10:07, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Nope, I'm an independent operator. I thought I would repost the information that was deleted but I can see I made a mistake. To SA TV, maybe we could have a summary page for Ten News anchors, rather than separate pages for each? --splashmo 08:33, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey Sarah. Thanks for commenting on my unsuccessful RFA last month under my old name, TeckWiz. I'm now known simply as User:R. I've been very busy lately which is why you're getting now. Houston, we have two DavidYork socks--maybe

While on new user/vandal patrol, I happened to notice What Holocaust2 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and PrayerfulMasturbation (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) went straight to the talk page of Newyorkbrad and demanded that DavidYork71 be unblocked. Should we file a CheckUser? Figured you'd want to know any results since you've dealt with this troll and would be in position to report him ... this borders on harassment, and hopefully Telstra will listen since from what you told me, they haven't been very good about responding to reports of abuse here.Blueboy96 19:13, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, I am back. How is the qxz ads thing going? Harrison-HB4026 09:42, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Thankyou

(I have written this message to all of you, because this it the only way I could think of doing it properly)

Hello, I would like sincerely thank you all dearly for the countless assistance you gave me while I established myself on Wikipedia. I believe that all of the help that you (VirtualSteve, Sarah and SGGH) gave me intertwined perfectly and that you are all ambassadors for Wikipedia. I now feel that I am confident now that I can spread my wings without major help, and I would like to help others someday as you helped me (like Chicken7 for example).

Thankyou all. Harrison-HB4026 10:11, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Sarah, thank you for your kind support of my RfA, which closed successfully yesterday. Please feel free to drop me a note any time if there is anything that I might be able to do for you. Pastordavid 16:10, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

kiran90

I feel like a fool for coming and talking to you about this, but recently Kiran90 congratulated a vandal who had made a particularly rude edit on my user page. He did express that it was not right, but he profusely congratulated this person and applauded them. When I said that this was not the right thing to do, and when I said that vandals should not be encouraged, he came back and called me vain and paranoid. I responed saying I was hurt by these names, and he has now come back and said "I'm having fun watching you do what you did to the BGS page to the MJ page". I can't take this. When I stopped editing the BGS page I wanted to have nothing to do with any editors associated with it who had, in my opinion, antagonized me. I may appear to be a whining fool, but I cannot take this when I have moved on. I have moved on past the BGS page, and I want nothing to do with it. I learnt my lesson. But my god it stings when users like Kiran90 continue to watch and antagonize me. I can't take it. Can you please tell him to stop? --Paaerduag 09:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

aahaha, i told the user it was funny but wrong of him, so Paaerduag accuses me of vandalising his page. jeez, this is so stupid it's getting marginally less hilarious Kiran90 11:32, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

per remarks

I agree, it was my own ignorance which made me lose the plot against those administrators. I should have acknowledged that y'all know what you're doing. but apart from that, I have already taken steps towards what you suggested after I contacted you. For example, I finalized things with Kiran90, and even though he responded I have undone his edits without reading them. Timely advice, all the same. --Paaerduag 10:36, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Dad comes way way first

Hi Sarah - all is well with me - busy at work, and singing (my other full-time hobby), and wiki. Thank you for your kindness, but please first support your dad - I can wait until the following weekend or the following month or two months no worries whatsoever. Besides I would be much happier if I heard you were just concentrating on your dad. I have a singing engagement singing Verdi's "Requiem" in Latin at the Opera House (along with a cast of 1000's) and I am performing a large acting singing part in a complex play written by Nick Enright over the next two months so you look after yourself and your family first. To answer your question - for when that time comes my personal featured content (3 GAs) is here User:VirtualSteve/UserBoxes - under about me on my user page - oh just realised of course I am helping a fair bit to maintain Australia as an FA and I have a featured image - also found in the User:VirtualSteve/Kudos area. And perhaps this is important (?) my major assessment work for other editors GA's is developing here User:VirtualSteve/Assessments. Best wishes to you for your Dad tomorrow.--VS talk 13:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks Sarah - I appreciate the welcome message on my talk page here: [2] (It prompted me to actually put some detail on the meta user page). Take care of yourself today. --VS talk 00:03, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Your reversions of my categorys

Care to explain why you're going through my contributions and reverting them wholesale, without any discussion with me whatsoever? DXRAW 07:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm rolling them all back. There is absolutely no consensus for categorising shows like this and given the fact some of these show are broadcast in dozens of countries around the world, the implication of categorisng shows like this is huge. Sarah 07:16, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Just got your message, you complain that I'm reverting you without discussion, yet isn't that exactly what you have done to Mark? Sarah 07:16, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
No i have contributed to the discussion [3] DXRAW 07:18, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes, you contributed to the discussion after you rolled Mark back and after he came here twice to ask what you were doing. You wrote on my talk page, "Care to explain why you're going through my contributions and reverting them wholesale, without any discussion with me whatsoever?" yet that is precisely what you did to Mark, so I don't think you have any right to complain. Sarah 07:28, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
He did not need to come back twice, Once was enough he was just impatient, According to the descriptions on the category's his removals were incorrect. DXRAW 07:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
No, the introductory statements were incorrect, his removals were correct. And I presume that he came back a second time because, looking at the edit times, you ignored his question and continued editing after he left the first message. Sarah 07:39, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Please point out the policy that says i have to respond to his post the very second i receive it. I don't, in fact i don't have to answer to anything on this page but i am. You do know that it is possible to have more than one window open and thus the other edits. DXRAW 07:41, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

What? I never said you had breached any policy or guideline. I'm simply saying that your complaint that I reverted you without discussion is a bit rich given that that is exactly what you had just done to Mark. And I'm trying to explain to you why he may have left a second message because you seem to be a bit confused about it. Sarah 07:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm not confused about anything. He needs to be stop being impatient.
And you need to change your appalling attitude towards other editors. Sarah 08:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Cop Shop is produced by Crawford Productions, Thus by your wording it should be removed as the Seven Network did not produce it. DXRAW 07:38, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Actually, the 7 Network has production credit for Cop Shop. [4] Often Networks produce shows that are outsourced to production companies who actually make the shows. Sarah 07:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Thus they do not do the work the outsourced company does. Anyway in less you have something of value to add to my talkpage please refrain from adding anything to it. DXRAW 07:51, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Who cares which company does which work? That's got nothing to do with Wikipedia. All we do here is report verifiable information. And the verifiable information is that the 7 Network and Crawfords have production credit for Cop Shop and thus your comment on my talk page is incorrect and irrelevant. Sarah 08:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I just realised that the message you left me on my talk page was a cc of Mark's message to you above. Obviously you have a serious attitude problem towards your fellow editors which is not conducive to collaborative editing. As far as leaving messages on your talk page goes, it is not your page, it belongs to the project and is simply made available to facilitate communication with you. Anyone, myself included, may leave messages here if they wish. If you don't want to receive such messages from me, then don't edit against consensus, don't leave factually untrue comments in response to me and don't leave unpleasant responses to other editors and I doubt I will have any need to leave you any more messages. But I seriously urge you to rethink the attitude you display towards other people because otherwise you will have a very short wiki-lifespan here. Sarah 08:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Abdominal Thrusts

Hi - the the consensus was formed and the page redirected [5], after 6 days of discussion and unanimous support from a number of users. After this redirect had been performed, DXRAW started to revert the edits and started an argument on the talk page along the same lines as the one you and Mark seem to have been having. In response, I suggested we leave it for a further week and see if anybody else replied: with 2 more days to go, we've had one more oppose, but the balance of support is still clearly in favour of the redirect. --John24601 08:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I hadn't even noticed the redirect to Heimlich Manouvre - that's been undertaken by DXRAW thismorning, with, by the looks of it, no discussion whatsoever! The article in question was at abdominal thrusts, the proposal was that relevant content should be placed in Choking and the original page should be redirected to there. Consensus was reached for this, and despite this DXRAW chose to undo it claiming there was none without discussing with anybody first. --John24601 08:42, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

[6], Why dont you read the talk page John24601. It was redrected with the edit summary "100% support" which was incorrect. DXRAW 08:53, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Please, an error in an edit summary is absolutely no excuse for making unilateral moves against consensus. Just stop your disruptive behaviour. Sarah 08:56, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
That diff is from several days after the original decision was reached, at which time there was 100% support. There remains a clear consensus in favour of the merge even with you and Pzavon opposing. --John24601 08:58, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, John, Abdominal thrusts is now a protected redirect to Choking and Heimlich Manouvre is deleted (you may want to make that aredirect to Choking as well). Please check what I've done and make sure it is correct. Thanks, Sarah 08:55, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

What an abuse of admin powers! You could of just protected the current article. You have shown your pov. I'm taking this to the admin notice board. DXRAW 08:57, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Feel free. Why should I have protected the current article? I've protected the redirect which is what the consensus appears to have been on the talk page. There certainly wasn't any consensus for you unilaterally moving the article to a totally different location. Sarah 09:00, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Sarah, that was the decision which was reached, and is still largely agreed upon even with DXRAW and Pzavon opposing. Sorry you've been dragged into this, seems asthough it might be going on a bit longer if dxraw gets his way! --John24601 09:03, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Becouse it says "I propose that we leave the discussion one week until 29/5/07." DXRAW 09:52, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
So that's why you went ahead and unilaterally shifted it without discussing it with anyone? Right. Please take further discussion of this to the article's talk page. As I said in my edit summary, I am not endorsing the redirect but your unilaterally shifting the article without discussion and against consensus is not acceptable. And as I also wrote in my edit summary, please continue discussions on the article's talk page and try to reach a clearer consensus. Thank you, Sarah 10:05, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Abdominal Thrusts

Pzavon, I'm just letting you know that I've redirected and temp protected the redirect of abdominal thrusts to choking. This is because there were some problems with the page over the weekend and this seemed to be the best way to sort it out. The other editor who opposed this redirect has now withdrawn from Wikipedia and so you appear to be the only editor opposed to the move, so, while there wasn't a complete consensus, there was quite clearly stronger support for redirecting to choking than any other option. I don't have a horse in this race and am happy to follow whatever you guys decide to do, so I encourage you to continue discussions and, perhaps, arrive at a clearer consensus. By the way, are you aware that people have been leaving messages for you on your userpage User:Pzavon? If you would like me to delete the page, just let me know. Cheers, Sarah 06:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC) COPIED FROM USER TALK:PZAVON

It looks like you protected the unilateral change. However, I find I have little continuing interest in the specifics of this issue. I was following the page on the Heimlich Maneuver for personal reasons and have little interest in the broader article on Chocking, per se. The prime mover for merging into Chocking does not appear to be open to alternative arguments and in a merge/no merge question there is not much opportunity for compromise. So I am walking away from this for now. I have UNWATCHED Abdominal Thrusts and will probably do the same to Chocking this evening.
As to knowing that messages are left for me on my talk page - certainly. Wikipedia raises a red flag when I log on and there is a new message - and I have my Talk page set to "Watch" so changes bring it up on my Watcklist. Pzavon 23:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I undid the unilateral move and protected the page on the option which had clear overwhelming, though not unanimous, support on the article's talk page. Thanks for letting me know your position. I shall pass along to the other editors that there is no longer any active or actionable opposition to the merge/redirect.
In response to your comments re messages left on your talk page, my original comment was regarding your userpage here, not your talk page. People have been mistakenly leaving you messages on your userpage instead of your talk page and I was unsure if you were aware that there were messages there for you. Sarah 12:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey again. I understand about the lyrics. Thanks for the tip. About the ANF I think I made quite alot of mistakes. No.1 It said mark stone because i copied from the Parks Victoria infobox template. No.2 I got confused with it being a company or chain. It's just that theres one in my area and its an anf so I thought I'd write a article about it. When I got to the website there was very limited info and because it's not a company thats probably the reason. Thanks for informing me. You can either delete it or fix it up, I dont mind. Cheers. Chicken-7 11:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I wont reply much at all because i got 4 assignments due monday and some i havent started! Ill try to help. By the way is there a article or something about St Peter symbols? Ive scanned the article but no success. Cheers Chicken-7 11:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I was away...

I took some time offline a few weeks back, and headed interstate for some work-related duties. Now that I'm back, it seems not much has changed at the asylum :) Keep up the good work, the battle is long, but worth it :) -- Longhair\talk 13:06, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

And if he says that, then it must be true - (asylum and battle) - as always ...SatuSuro 13:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Czech puppeteers?

I notice that, in the past few days, you've twice deleted an article on a Czech puppeteer with the rationale "created by sockpuppet evading block".

Be that as it may, and not to quibble with your block, but I did some research and I've found that this puppeteer does in fact exist - the Washington Post described him as a "master", for instance, and Woodcarver Online calls him a "leading puppet artist". May I ask why you decided that the creation of the article was indicative of socklike behavior? DS 14:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I understand. Thank you. Most annoying when they do that; his suspension means that he's not allowed to edit the database for anything, not even to create valid new articles. And if the articles were allowed to remain, his suspension would be meaningless. Pity, since they are valid. I trust that, when his suspension finally expires, you'll allow their re-creation? DS 17:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you blocked this fellow last month because he "continued to violate BLP on my talk page re a named minor after a very serious, clear warning". I'm not familiar with the case or the editor, but I'd appreciate it if you could spare a moment to look at this latest disruption, which pertains to disrupting Wikipedia to make a point, by removing external links with the edit summary "delete the external links then. They contain links to the victim's name. Oh no!" after another editor removed names of victims on BLP grounds.

Your experience with this editor would be helpful, I think. --Tony Sidaway 05:45, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Another editor, User:John_celona, seems to have been involved in doing pretty much the same thing on the same article, and seems to have been blocked after he made a disingenuous AfD nomination. --Tony Sidaway 05:48, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Please see discussion on my talk and on the DRV (among other places). I hate to see a situation like this escalate with blocks unless it's unavoidable. Newyorkbrad 09:38, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Okay, thanks guys. I'll try to have a look through the relevant pages tomorrow. I've been trying to follow this issue as there are some other similar articles that have concerned me for awhile. And so I'm interested to see how this all plays out, but unfortunately I've been very busy offline. Cheers, Sarah 15:14, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

IP block ect.

I read your message about the IP block. I'm not going to argue, you are much worthier to make the desision then I, but may I ask why a school(?) has the power to request IP blocks of another school in the same state of the same country? In any case, thankyou for deleting the archived information on me. Gollod 01:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Hiya again, thanks for the userbox fix. I understand all now, much obliged...and no, whilst Being unable to myself doesn't hinder me, I worry for the few other who it does affect. This being a reasonable sized school (padua, you guessed it), would probally have more than one wikipedian? Anyways, much thanks Gollod 23:36, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Reply

You can keep that infobox. I think voicing an opinion on what you think is right without sounding too rebellious is a good thing. Nothing wrong with believing what's just for a community, I say. Thanks for your time. And I accept the offer of protecting and blanking the page. Thank you. :) --Ralf Loire (Annoy) 13:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Sarah, I am sorry to bother you, but since you remarked on my recent change of name, I wanted to bring to your attention the edits of this user. They are a non-native English speaker and seem to be PoV-pushing on a matter of naming. Specifically the editor seems to be against the use of the term "West Germany" to describe the Federal Republic of Germany. When I asked them not to, I was implicitly accused of sockpuppetry. While I know I have many faults this is not one of them. If you have time to review this I would be very grateful. Best wishes, --John 18:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

What is it with DavidYork71?

Just looked at his latest trolling ... good grief, what part of "go away" doesn't he understand? I dunno if my opinion counts for anything, Sarah, but I would hope that nobody even considers unblocking this guy--if he does, I'd hazard to guess you'd see a lot of people pulling out. Is there any real way to stop him short of complaining to Telstra? Hate to say it, but from what you told me, this is one thing you Aussies are behind us on--if he'd been in the States, he'd have been nuked a long time ago, as his crap would have violated the TOS of several U.S. ISPs several times over.--Blueboy96 20:58, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Park Dietz's company found at www.taginc.com specialises in this area. I don't know if it's a question of trying to discourage someone when it has gone this far, but it seems that the vandalism system is pretty foolproof and by repeating their offences and resorting to sockpuppets they make themselves obvious. Overall, from the perpetrator's point of view, a futile and frustrating exercise. Barrison 14:27, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Why have you banned me?

I provided probably the best link for drug rehab out there and you banned me? That website is the only one on the net I know of that has married the SAMHSA and NAATP directories together for all treatment centers in the U.S. How is that spam? Please, enlighten me.

Long Time No See

Hi Sarah, long time no see. Sorry I have not been in contact for a while; very busy.

Two Questions:

  • 1. I believe that now User: VirtualSteve has now passed 10,000 edits and his long list of DYK's and Good article contributions should make him a Sysop. Do you agree?
  • 2. Cast your mind back to April, I was campaigning for a Wikipedia ad (QXZ-ad back then) for WP: AUS. It failed, but now the ad has been created by another user. Have you heard anything about this?

Thanks Sarah Harrison-HB4026 04:11, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, can't go into detail right now but regarding the weather:

The Central Coast is near Newcastle- and that Somersby crash. Harrison-HB4026 11:51, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I'd be honoured

(copied from my talk page but then slightly adjusted ...) Hi Sarah - Thank you for your email. I would be honoured to accept if you think I am ready and if you and others still believe that I could be of help to the wiki community. In terms of timing I would be better placed to answer questions etc from Monday June 18 - *the Opera House will have cracked from sail to sail attempting to withstand my voice by then  :-) :-) :-)* and I will be a little more free. HB is a fine young man and very kind (and I note now his comments above). Thank you also for your congratulatory comment - a little bit here and there and what do you know 10K - what fun.--VS talk 12:16, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, I agree that it looks quite good.

P.S In case your wondering, the rain settled down on Sunday and stopped yesterday for me. Also, I wont be around tomorrow, I am going to the State of Origin in Sydney (not that you would care, AFL supporter :) ).

Dear Sarah, don't worry: I'll make more sense by email :) Something "did" happen, and it was me who awarded you this (it's part of my Today's wikipedian campaign, that I've been carrying out for many weeks now) but a blocked sockpuppet tried to notify you of my selection of you without my permission, and trying to take the credit for herself like she had awarded you your Day. Look for my email in a short while :) But meanwhile, have the most joyous day - it's your Day, dear Sarah! :) Love, Phaedriel - 05:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Homeowners Association

Hi Sarah, you sent me a note regarding my edit of homeowners association. I am rather new to this, so perhaps you can tell me what your interest is. Are you an agent of Wikipedia? I referenced my talk page for this article because I have an email from a state official on this page who speaks directly to the subject. I suppose I could publish the original email, and then reference that? Let me know.Mike Reardon 21:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Mike Reardon

Hey Sarah, I hope all is well. I was just wondering if it was OK to put the Parks Victoria article back to the mainspace. If not, just tell me. I don't mind. Hey

Hi, I used a few sentences from the internet, but not many at all. Some wordings may of been coincidental! I've attended wesley for 12 years, and I got the information from our school information booklets. None of the text about the subject is identical at all, all the information about the subjects i wrote was in my own words. I spent a lot of time writing it. Is there a way of retriving the text that I wrote and making it seemingly less 'copywrited'? I spent heaps of time on it. Thanks. 58.107.239.126 10:20, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia edit

Totally a mistake, not vandalism. The ref tag for NPOV was blank (someone removed an earlier version), and I was finding it tough to track down the markup. So I copied it into Notepad, used Notepad search, fixed the problem and then copied back. Then I realised I'd made a mistake, so did another edit using the same method. Didn't realise that I'd caused a problem. Guess I'll restrict this method to sections in future... - Ta bu shi da yu 11:26, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

And I knew you knew :-) But I wanted to explain anyway, as I felt like a dumbass on two counts: the first was the thing above, and the second was using the wrong namespace. I'm getting a bit rusty! - Ta bu shi da yu 12:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

VS RfA

I was always interested. If you think the time is right, I'm all for it. -- Longhair\talk 06:13, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm not a fan of co-nominations myself, but I'm happy to lend my support once the RfA goes live. -- Longhair\talk 06:14, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
I think it'll be a shoe-in, much like yours was :) As broken as RfA currently is (or always was), somehow the good still manage to make it through... -- Longhair\talk 06:20, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Hi Sarah - you are a such a lovely person. I have just got back from some rehearsals to find your pleasant message - and yes the Opera House performance was just stupendous - singing to a packed house along with another 1000 or so choristers and the Sydney Orchestra. Thank you for the nomination - I am just about to accept and to answer the first question.--VS talk 13:29, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi again Sarah. Thank you also for your email. You may be retired (resting peacefully I hope) for the evening but I leave this message for you now because (and this should get the sympathy vote) as luck would have it I am traveling to Melbourne early tomorrow to visit a dentist for 3 hours of Root Canal Treatment (yeah I know it makes me shiver too) and not coming back until Friday. I will have access to a computer either in the evening on Thursday however if I still find that I am slurping my soup down my chin after the dentist - I will leave computer access until later on Friday when I have driven back. Anyway I have answered all the questions - I hope in a suitable and succinct way and so please would you do me the honour of either telling me to get my answers in a better order, or posting my nomination for discussion, or if you think it preferable speaking to Steve first - particularly because a slight delay may help me to not annoy people when I do not answer any additional questions promptly. I will leave the decision to you. Thank you again. My best wishes --VS talk 14:44, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

  • There you go - I thought for sure you'd be asleep. Yes please to your question - I meant list my nomination at RfA for discussion. I'll stay up for another 30 minutes or so - just in case you want to tell me that my answers are not quite there.--VS talk 15:00, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Thank you - I appreciate your blessing my nomination with its first support vote. Do you think I should indicate in the General Comments that I am not available (because of the dentist appointment) to answer questions until Friday - or just leave it?--VS talk 15:08, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

From Splenda-luva

Sarah,

Please ignore my first few edits. My younger cousins were on my account and were messing around. However, my edits about the Menino controversy are accurate. I belong to an extremly connected political family in South Boston, MA and I am the Massachusetts Political Director for the Harvard College Democrats. Please leave these changes. You will note that I have added a citation.

Splenda-luva —Preceding unsigned comment added by Splenda-luva (talkcontribs)

Sarah,

I'm assuming that you did not read my post on your talk section. I added a citation to prove that my assertations were legitimate. You are from Australia. I have lived in Boston for my entire life. As the Massachusetts Political Director of the Harvard College Democrats, I liaise with the staff of these men and as a very active member of the Boston political community, I have been to many events, read numerous articles, and have even personally spoken to some of these men about their political ambitions. I am quite serious about this. I think people deserve to know, if they choose, who will potentially be the next mayor of Boston. I'm not doing this to mess around, I think you should take me seriously.

  • Just so you know, Sarah, that was a message that was left on your user page. I moved it to your talk page for you. Acalamari 17:14, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Im sorry, but the comment you left on my talk page was quite rude. I have tried being nice about this whole thing but it obviously doesnt seem to be working. The fact that you live in Australia is relivent as you know nothing about this topic. I do, and the information I wrote was correct and NOT original research as i have citations. I am new to wikipedia so im sorry if i didnt sigh this whole thing right. Oh and I add, that you must have no life if all you do is sit on wikipedia and change back things that YOU do not think are appropriate. Splenda-luva 20:52, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, This is clearly a vandal, or seriously wayward user... That said, I am born, raised, and still live in Boston, and I for one appreciate the efforts of those down under keeping an eye on my great city! :-) Hiberniantears 00:42, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
  • This is of no real significance, I suppose, but I watchlisted a few of Splenda-Luva's pages the other day (Menino was alreadt on my list), and I came up with this: Category:Suspected sockpuppets of Splenda-luva. Like I said... not really important, but just in the event this user crosses your path again. Hiberniantears 02:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Sarah :)

Thanks very much for wishing me happy birthday! I had a great day - well, it could have been better, I spent all day studying for an exam! But let's concentrate on the positives, hmmm? :) My friends got me a great cake, a lot like this one, and since you've been so kind, I saved you a piece. Hope you enjoy it, and the rest of your day :) Riana (talk) 10:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, having a birthday this time of the year is a right pain in the arse... can't wait to leave uni, and start enjoying birthdays more! :) That's good that you have a birthday on the weekend though, gives you a bit of a chance to relax... mine always end up on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, most inconvenient :) Still, though :)

I'm back and have a question for my nominator

Hi Sarah - I hope you have had a couple of good days? I am back from the dentist - inclusive of sore jaw and empty wallet. I received a new question from AldeBaer which I have now answered and things look quite positive at my RfA (god there are some lovely people on this project). I have a question for you though if I may? It seems to me that the general guidelines for RfA are not to thank your voters (Support, Oppose or Neutral) but that plenty do anyway. I would like to thank all voters but before the end of the RfA in the form of the draft message shown here for you. Can you comment on this proposal please?--VS talk 10:08, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks Sarah - Dentist wasn't too bad (well who can love an appointment like that ever but it wasn't as bad as it could have been) In terms of canvassing yes I don't want to do that at all and hopefully wrote my thank you so that it didn't/wouldn't. But I will take your advice (which is becoming a pleasant habit :) ) and adjust it to thank everyone after the RfA is finished. Best wishes as always.--VS talk 10:36, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

PEGS

Thanks for the work you've done on the PEGS page! 211.28.83.179 14:27, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, but I haven't really done much work on the article, just general administrative work (blocking, reverting, deleting, protecting etc). Thanks for your message, though. Cheers, Sarah 12:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Your user page

You're welcome for my moving of that message on your user page to your talk. It just so happens I use the RfA monitor on your user page to view all the active RfAs, both the two I nominated, and all the others (I hope you don't mind me doing that). I noticed that your user page looked different and I realized why.

That brings me to another thing: the RfA monitor on your user page isn't working properly for some reason. It's only showing a few RfAs when there are actually several more going. I don't know if you're aware of this problem but I thought I'd tell you. Acalamari 16:26, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry Sarah, the second part of my message is now out of date. Your monitor is working again. No cause for concern anymore. :) Acalamari 15:46, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
  • There's no need to apologize to me about not responding quickly; I understand. As for why I use your user page: it's just something I've become used to. I believe I've used your user page to monitor the RfA's since Ryan Postlethwaite's RfA from nearly four months ago; it's just more convenient than going to any other place; and, as I said, I'm just used to doing it. What I said on VirtualSteve's RfA is completely true: your candidates do have a habit of becoming excellent administrators (I mean that in a good way); Newyorkbrad and Riana are proof of that. :) Acalamari 17:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

My rfa

Hi Sarah, I left a thank you and follow-up question to your feedback at my RfA, but I'm thinking now that just the fact that you mentioned the user-talk namespace in the oppose is enough to get me thinking about using it more, and I'm sure I'll start finding more excuses to use that namespace for more than just template messages. Hi Sarah. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. Acalamari's RfA

Hi Sarah. Was going to wait until it ended before commenting here, but I'm going on break now and had to get this comment out of my system.

I recall your comments on the first RfA and was curious as to what your second ones would be like. Now, RfAs run the full gamut from mild affairs to all-out warfare and flamefests; you've seen more of these than I have, you get the idea. Either way, they're all trials of fire for the candidate. Anyways - enough!

I just want to point out that your comments here were some of the best, most insightful and most thoughful comments I have ever seen in anyone's RfA and I just wanted to say that I was nodding my way through each sentence. Well said, indeed! Just ... wow! - Alison 12:21, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Homeowners Association

Hi Sarah, I go to sea for a living which makes my contributions to Wikipedia sporadic at best. I noticed that you recently responded to an inquiry if mine. In response (belatedly) to your interest I offer the following: As well as discussion with an editor named Jance, my talk page also includes a communication with Edward Hannaman, a widely quoted representative of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, in charge of that State's oversight of Homeowner Associations. Mr. Hannaman emailed his comments and advice to a group of residents in Massachusetts (to which I belong) who are trying to make legislative changes to how Homeowners and Condominium associations are allowed to operate in our state. The following text, found on my talk page, is from that communication:

"If anything things have gotten worse in New Jersey. Unless stopped by direct forceful State action, the attorneys and property managers quickly realize they can play into board members’ “power corrupts” mindset. Once the board-or even the Board president-decides that he/she is the ruler/dictator; the attorneys and property managers can really open up the money spigot. The problem lies in the difference between a true democracy with balancing players (two parties a free press and an independent judiciary) and what associations have (total concentration of all power and control of all resources in the board). Boards can even easily rig elections-and the only owner redress is court action that is very expensive. Try to get limits on board power- Make any significant decisions depend on a vote by owners; get guaranteed secret ballots, open fair elections-and by all means make sure you get owners’ rights to counsel fees for having to fight boards that ignore either general law or their own association governing documents. But to actually make sure it all works you need State enforcement by a State regulatory authority with only the people’s interests in mind. Here in NJ what passes for protection for owners is located in the entity that works with developers and builders. Naturally that agency sided with the lobbyists (most of whom are connected to builders/developers) opposing owner interests. So the agency gives me no support-it’s worse than having no enforcement because it gives the appearance that there is State protection and deludes people. I am not permitted to testify to legislators about owner concerns or to speak to reporters. If this were with an independent State agency, the legislators and the press could hear first hand from a State official on the firing line about the problems. The poor owners in NJ have no Executive entity to support them against the powerful greedy lobby profiting off of the owners. Hope you can make sure that does not happen in MA. Good Luck" I am now clear that publishing this communication, referencing my talk page as the source, would violate Wikipedia's policies (I am just now becoming familiar with Wikipedia protocols). I feel that this communication speaks for itself with regard to how serious an issue Homeowners Associations, which are almost entirely unregulated in the US, has become for United States citizens. My original communication with you was to question how, or if, this communication should be brought to light in the context of the Wikipedia definition of Homeowner Association.

As far as my personal interest in the subject, as I have said, I belong to a group of citizens in Massachusetts who are trying to make legislative changes to how Homeowners Associations are allowed to operate. I think it is very important to note that I have zero financial interest in the subject. I was introduced to the subject after witnessing my 92 year old neighbor driven from my Homeowners Association under threat of "fines" after the Homeowners Association disregarded a binding, prior agreement made years earlier with this person. Due to the lack of regulations, laws or State oversight and enforcement, the board of this association persecuted my neighbor for the simple reason that they could get away with it. When the president of the Board was confronted with the possibility of a lawsuit, her response was to say “go ahead and sue, we have insurance”. It was the most disgraceful thing I have ever been “associated” with. Since then, I have frequently testified in support of pro-homeowner legislation that would protect the elderly and other vulnerable groups from predatory exploitation by Homeowner Associations (and their attorneys) here in Massachusetts. I have found that it is NOT homeowners that oppose the bills that would protect homeowners from predatory practices, but a powerful lobbying group of SERVICE PROVIDERS (primarily lawyers) to Homeowner Associations that oppose these laws (see “Community Associations Institute” and a laundry list of laws they have successfully blocked). You should notice that the editors who are concerned about the negative information in the Wikipedia article all seem to have a financial interest (some way in the “business” of associations) in the continued ignorance of the general population about the more dysfunctional aspects of HOAs. The afore mentioned Edward Hannaman had issued an extremely important (and negative) report on Associations in New Jersey in his capacity as State regulator. This report was relied upon heavily by the NJ State Appellate Court Division in overturning a First Amendment Case decision that had been originally found in favor of a Homeowners Association there. The AARP and the ACLU have also gotten involved in this case in support of the homeowners. Imagine… the Homeowners Association in this case has spent over 1 MILLION DOLLARS of homeowner’s money to attempt to deny these same homeowners their First Amendment rights! The case has drawn on for 7 years! This case is a perfect example of why homeowners are helpless in the face of tyranny by the boards of HOAs. If the homeowner’s only recourse is to go to civil court (as my 92 year old neighbor found), then they must spend 10’s of thousands of dollars, and years of time fighting the board who risk nothing personally. The only group to profit from this disgraceful waste of resources is the attorneys; and they profit handsomely! For the purpose of the Wikipedia article; many of the ‘facts’ about HOAs are not flattering to either those who operate them or those who profit from them. Nonetheless…they are the facts and need to be included for the benefit of those who are researching the subject. In my editing of this article I have attempted to make the body of the article as unbiased and factual as possible. I have left the criticisms in the appropriate section, and left the benefits section alone as well (even though the Zolgby Poll is something of a joke. Just 800 individuals were interviewed, out of a pool of almost 60 million. The results of this poll are so statistically invalid that any claims made based upon this poll are nonsense). In this light I would think that you might be more concerned with those editors who wish to obscure the negative aspects of this subject. It seems to me that they do so from the worst of motivations; financial. More to the point, those editors who wish to obscure the negative do so by unilaterally deleting facts contained in this article. Specifically; I have included comments made by NJ State regulator Edward Hannaman taken from a report that was included in an Amicus Brief to a State Appellate Court by the AARP. Credible and referenced information. Yet these comments are routinely deleted on a unilateral basis with no discussion offered! Why? Certainly the credibility of this information is not disputed; it is the implications and one might say the “truth” that is being willfully obscured. As far as my motivation for editing this article, I offer the following: I believe that if these negative issues were to be recognized and resolved, then these communities would be exponentially more pleasant and safe places in which to live and retire in. They would most certainly contain much less conflict. Just as certain is the fact that those who profit from this conflict would suffer. I believe that this “truth” is being desperately obscured by an industry trade group not only in the legislatures of all 50 States, but in this Wikipedia article as well. Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:19, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

My adminship

I decided to wait to respond to your message for obvious reasons. Anyway, thanks for your support this time round. Yes, you did live up to the Barnstar I gave you three months ago. I am glad you were consistent in writing another long vote. As for what you said, don't worry, if I need help, I'll ask Ryan, Alison, Chrislk02, Newyorkbrad, you, etc. I would much rather ask for help when I need it instead of make a mess. Thank you again. :) Acalamari 21:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Questionable

hello, i am the user known as onopearls. although i feel that you have every right to criticize a nominator, to call their intentions questionabe is ,in my opinion, uncouth. How long a user has been editing wikipedia or how long an account has been active shouldn't play such a significant role in your judgement of a nominator, and saying that the noms intentions are "fishy" is unjust without background knowledge. i have been editing wikipedia for close to three years, but never felt that a account was nessecary. i have also edited much more than 167 times. my short sentence can be attributed to the fact that i have never nominated a user before. i will write a longer one the next time nominate a user, should i ever do that again. please dont consider this a personal attack, but i felt that your accusations were misguided, and that i needed to set the record straight. best wishes, Onopearls 19:58, 2 July 2007 (UTC) "[Thoughtless and stupid comment removed by the author.]".

If you are going to quote me, please do so accurately. I never called anything "fishy" and I see nothing "uncouth" in my comment. It may not be fair, but the fact remains that the nominator and the nominator's reputation can have a massive influence on requests for adminship. You said your short nom is attributed to your having never nominated someone before. I see it as being attributed to the fact that you haven't looked at any other noms before and don't know what is expected. The fact you have taken my comment so bitterly and personally also shows that you haven't much idea about RfA and how it works. Which, of course, is fine, we all have to start somewhere, but please don't come here calling me "uncouth" and accusing me of saying things I have not said. Sarah 07:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
i apologize, i did take it personally, and didnt read your quote carefully, and for that i am sorry. i wont be nominating again unless i know what needs to be said, and perhaps i could get your help with that. =). again, i apologize. Onopearls 16:06, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, I have already got Steve onto this but I need your help as well. A certain individual that goes by the name of User: YourBiggestFan has decided to defame the Stan Zemanek article (see history for further details) and after VS and I have warned him it seems that he is using his IP to further vandalise (I believe that it is him). I will remove it and hand out another warning but could you please 1. Put him on your watchlist and 2. If you know of any tool to find out the location of IPs could you please enlighten me? Methinks

There is no need to apologise to me. Damned if I will ever toe the line for my peers when I disagree with them; damned if I will ever ask any of my peers to toe the line for me.

As confident as I feel about Melburnian, I would not have nominated him if I realised that he does not yet reach the threshold of trust for such as yourself. Clearly the nomination was premature... but that is a reflection on my judgement, not his. I hope he gets through, as I consider him a top-shelf prospect.

Numbers as a sole criteria for RfA

I was struck by something you wrote about inflated numbers as a guidepost for RfA nominations, and wanted to say YES! Recently on a nomination I made, the sole neutral vote, so far, has been for not obtaining a specific number of edits. Yet the user I nominated is a prolific article writer - 5 brand new really good articles the last month alone! - and it struck me, shouldn't quality and article writing count more than tiny one word edits just to run up numbers? I was therefore really struck by your comment on this matter, which I thought said the same thing, only better...Stillstudying 13:46, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I answered you on my talk page, but wanted to post this prominantly on your page: keep fighting for a better review system on RfA's than what we have! I am not sure what we should substitute, but we have to find a better way than mere totals without any examination of quality, which is your point. YOU ARE 100% CORRECT. RFA - comments

Sarah, my apologies for not responding within this RFA, I lost connection during a change of ISP thats taken a few days to resolve. Beyond my comment your response, there isnt any reason to continue a discussion there. I know that yourself and other editors take the time to look into candidates, my comment was intended to highlight that blind counting doesnt serve any purpose as was beginning to appear in the neutral comments. Hopefully that comment was enough to motivate others to look beyond just the numbers, thats all I was trying to do. Gnangarra 13:44, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Fox Foundation

Sarah I'm not sure you fully understand the nature of this organisation. It awards Doctoral degrees only and is highly respected. In fact it rejects many who apply for accrediation through their existing lesser degrees. It works through many different universities and their academics. There would appear to be no valid grounds to delete the page apart from perhaps a lack of knowledge of the foundation. Does wikipedia delete an entry simply because some readers do not fully understand a page? Surely an organisation should not have to justify itself when its reason for being is already well known. I endorse your block as a preventative block. I think it is quite possible he is telling the truth, however, personally, I wouldn't like to unblock without a checkuser or a general consensus. The edit summaries the first sock was using just 'sounded' like Matt. Though it is possible that was deliberate if it was someone trying to get in in trouble. A checkuser has been filed, I'd wait until that comes back. Sarah 04:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
The sock attack is suggestive of HisExcellency. How about this, I unblock on the condition he not edit the articles under dispute until the checkuser comes back?--Chaser - T 04:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Yep, you could do that if you want to but before unblocking, you might want to get him to retract his (absurd) accusations against Slim, Shell, Michael and Elonka. Sarah 04:44, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Moving Milena velba to correct capitalization

This article was created with an incorrect capitalization, presumably to get around the protection of Milena Velba, the correct spelling. Looking around, it seems an unreferenced version of the article was deleted at the start of the year, and several attempted recreations were deleted as "recreation of deleted content". After thinking about it, I think a professor at a respected university claiming the world's largest anything is sufficiently notable for an article. This is to notify one of the deleting admins; if you disagree, let's talk on the article talk page. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

This is an IP address used by a number of people. It looks like User:Blissyu2 is an account that User:Internodeuser asked to use. Internodeuser isn't a banned user, but Blissyu2 is. It seems like a rather odd case, actually, if you look in to it. 123.2.168.215 17:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, I notice you locked Perverted Justice. I'm guessing this is in relation to the broken links to the perverted-justice.com website (where all the links now redirect to rant against wikipedia). How should we proceed with this? Should I make an entry on WP:ANI? Vagr4nt 06:24, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I see that you just decided to remove the links. There may be one you missed [12]. Vagr4nt 06:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Ahoy Sarah, the above user is requesting an unblock. I thought you might be interested in throwing in yout 2 cents as you have been involved. :) SGGH speak! 21:03, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Images in articles

Hi. Just got your message about the images I have been adding. I need to know more about this. With an article like Sydney, how many shots are ok? Have doubts about the articles being balanced image:text. That proposition looks a bit dubious to me.

Anyway, how many shots are acceptable in the average article? I haven't always added 46, obviously, but it would help if you can give me some guidelines. There are a lot of shots in the Sydney article because I was trying to cover national estate buildings. I can reduce the number, obviously. Will keep it in mind.

Heh, thanks. Some people think that one person alone completely ruins their mission to have an article about themselves on wikipedia. Unfortunate he had to leave with death threats and vandalism though. SpigotMap 10:09, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. There is another user here on this IP, but he's off today, so it's just me. Don't know if I'll get an account yet... but you sure do good work! --84.45.219.185 10:18, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Next time I will Remember NOINCLUDE... Will all the users have a broken link?

Hey, seems like A12n has re-made this page. I'm not sure if this was done with your knowledge or not, but I thought I'd let you know. GlassCobra 19:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, GlassCobra is correct. I restored the article with what I understand to be the proper ref format. I'm also sorry for the misunderstanding but appreciate your assistance. (Further comments on my user talk page). All the best. --A12n 19:38, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks GlassCobra. I moved the article into the editor's userspace so s/he could work on it. I don't have any problems with them reposting it now that they have fixed the copyright/quote referencing issue. Cheers, Sarah 00:58, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Sockpuppets...

Please review WP:SOCK - Sock puppets are not prohibited. What is prohibited is the abuse of socks to rig votes or bypass blocks. (this in reference to user:123.2.168.215) ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 21:00, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. However, I did not block on the basis of sockpupppets as such. I blocked on the basis of Circumventing policy, "Users who are banned or blocked from editing may not use sock puppets to circumvent this." I was acting on the belief that User:Zordrac (Blissyu2 / Internodeuser) is banned, as noted on his talk page and the various block logs, however, I concur with the IP that his status is unclear and confusing and I have already asked for clarification from people involved. Thanks for your comment, Sarah 00:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 02:43, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
No problems and thanks for coming straight to me with your concern. It prompted me to go back and re-read my comments and I realised that a comment near the end could easily be misinterpreted as an objection to the use of multiple accounts, rather than, as I intended, an objection to the ban evasion. So thank you for raising this with me. Sarah 14:03, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Homeowners Association

Hi Sarah, I have edited Homeowners Association, and anticipate that this edit will be unilaterly deleted. My edit is an excerpt from a well documented report by a representative of the New Jersey Dept. Community Affairs, and was used by the AARP in a report to the NJ Supreme Court. To delete this edit is clearly an example of vandalism and I would like to ask that you look into this.(All edits that referenced this report to date have been deleted without cause) Thank you (in advance) Mike ReardonMike Reardon 03:16, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Mike, most importantly, please understand that good faith edits, whether you agree with them or not, are not vandalism. Regarding your edits, if they get reverted, you will have to discuss it with the other editors and try to reach an agreement. However, one thing that seems to be a rather appropriate reason to revert your edits is the article is about Homeowners Associations in general, not the New Jersey Homeowners Association which is what it appears you are trying to turn the article into. I think this might have something to do with the the reversion of your edits. Additionally, preemptively reporting people to me before they've done anything is rather pointless. As it stands at the time of my review of the article, your edits remain in the article, even though I am rather unconvinced of their suitability, but I will leave that for others to judge. Please use the articles talk page to discuss the edits and why you think they are appropriate and see if you can reach a satisfactory consensus with others editing that article. Thanks, Sarah 04:40, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
