Thank you![edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the e-value page, they are really great and appreciated. I will go through the changes soon. DMH43 (talk) 21:44, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear DMH43!
Thanks for your kind words. In fact I should apologize for doing such a major overhaul of the page without warning you first. In fact I was preparing a page on e-values over the Christmas holidays and only found out at a late stage that there already was one. So then I merged the 2.
I checked your changes and I agree with all of them, except one about lambda in the '1+ \lambda U' formula. But I think the original text wasn't clear there anyway so I now changed the line about S being positive, I think it is clearer now. Safestatistics (talk) 10:41, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On another note: somehow google has enormous difficulty finding the E-values page (that's why I didn't know it existed). One thing that might help is renaming it to E-value (this is also more 'symmetric', the page about p-values is also called p-value, not p-values), and create a redirect page from E-values to E-value.
(and it might also be good to create a redirect page from E_values as well).
Assuming you agree: perhaps it's easier and faster if you do that, since I have not yet created any wikipedia article myself (e-value was going to be the first one...) it might take some time for me to get such requests approved, I guess...

These are all good suggestions, I'm not sure how to do this exactly, but I can figure it out. I'll let you know.
As an aside, I have had trouble getting google to return worthwhile results of e-values in general, not just for this wikipedia article (which is quite new still).
And no need to apologize at all :) The additions are a fantastic resource and I've already gotten value out of them, so thank you again! DMH43 (talk) 16:33, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
