Hi Devanampriya, Examples are plenty & malicious intentions abound. Damodar Kosambi has for example sought to link 'Satyanarayana Pooja' to a Pir. Others have insisted that Vedic Brahmins were not only meat eaters but also relished beef. Many facts distorted, some cases of wrong context, exceptions sought to be projected as rules & other utter lies. In Bengal it is a legal offence to refer to the historical fact of religious bigotry, forced conversions & destruction of temples. Equally biased has been their attitude towards Subash Chandra Bose. They have used history as a tool, rather distorted history as weapon. Like Science, History is not a matter of view or fantasy, it is an endeavour in search of facts in pursuit of truth. F.Y.I., I have studied Physics, not History. When it comes to objectivity; Ideologically, I am Rationalist i.e. atheist, don't have any political leaning (let alone affiliation), I can however lean towards being Proud Indian in thinking. Thanks

Regarding Post[edit]

Hello SSBATC,

I definitely understand and empathize with your position regarding scholars with communist leanings, and I do agree that many of them undermine Indian history through their application of Marx's biases and disdain for India. Although I am aware that Kosambi leaned to the left, I've read many of his works and have not really noticed ideology seep through or cause unsubstantiated and ridiculous claims. Could you please note what you take issue with in his works or to what you were specifically referring? Thanks.

Regards,
