Hello, Many thanks for your help. As you can see I am a beginner to write in Wikipedia. I need your help! The abowe mentioned pictures have the following references in the above order: 1. My own paraffinembedded tissue from my patient with smoker´s melanosis, photographed by myself. 1976. 2. Tissue prepared to paper reference 1. Hedin CA: Smoker´s melanosis. Arch Derm 1977; 113:1533-1538. The picture was not used in this paper but is close to the DOPA staining Fig.5 on page 1536. 3. See nr 2. By misstake I loaded the picture twice. Could be deleted. 4. Picture published in ref 4. Hedin CA, Larrson Å: The ultrastructure of the gingival epithelium in smoker´s melanosis. J Periodontal Res 1984; 19: 177-190. 5. My own photo taken by myself from my own patient about 1980.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Melanocytes with dendrites in basal epithelium of acigarette smoker.jpg[edit]

"OTRS ticket" and image deletion[edit]

Thank you again for your edits and image uploads. The copyright requirements can be confusing. Although it appears that several images have been deleted, I have been told by an admin that this deletion will be reversed once the "OTRS ticket" has been received, so as I understand matters you do not need to do anything further if you have already applied for this ticket. Yes, "deletion" is more like "put in your desktop's trashcan" than truly deleted. It's not permanent and can be reversed at the click of a button once the paperwork gets through the process. It's an annoyance, but it should all work out in the end.

Several of us at WP:WikiProject Medicine (feel free to drop by and say hello to other people who want to improve Wikipedia's medical articles!) have friends among the volunteers over at OTRS, so if it doesn't get cleared up in a week or so, then please leave a note there and ask one of us to chase someone down and find out what's gone wrong.

I use primary sources when every reader can find the original articles on Internet. Concerning health subjects, you often find the paper with an easy "copy and past" reference search on Internet.If not, PubMed is easy to reach for anyone who will read a summary or the complete paper free. In this way new information can be presented faster, compared to wait many years, until the finding is printed and perhaps somewhat distorted by another author in a textbook. For fastest information go to the referee-accepted and published original papers, after you have judged its scientific quality yourself. I am trying to keep this page as “up to date” as possible.
