Question[edit]

Why did you remove the indentations from a talk page thread here? VQuakr (talk) 20:22, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The number of indentations had become and encumbrance, making it difficult to post replies with multiple lines. For the stated reason they were unnecessary anyway, so I removed them. Rob (talk) 20:26, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It makes the page look a mess, and difficult to follow. Just because two people were discussing (your stated reason) doesn't mean someone else will not join eventually. Please put the indentation back in and don't do that again, per WP:BOTTOMPOST and WP:THREAD. If you need help with outdents, feel free to ask. VQuakr (talk) 23:26, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't aware of the outdent template. I'll use that. Rob (talk) 22:34, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hughes H-4 Hercules[edit]

I just reapplied my edit to the Hughes H-4 Hercules (Spruce Goose) article changing "aluminium" in the opening to "aluminum", which got caught up in your revert war over the Scaled Composites Stratolaunch. I'm not getting into that battle; my whole point in editing was it is more appropriate to use U.S. English in an article about a U.S. plane, especially when "aluminum" is used later in the article. Thus, my edit can be the new base if you have to revert again over the Stratolaunch. --RBBrittain (talk) 19:45, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

After re-reading the key sentence, it said the Spruce Goose "has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in history"; that could be validly challenged as the Stratolaunch is an aircraft, even though it hasn't flown yet (and is far different in design from the Spruce Goose and other large-wingspan planes). Thus, to more properly respect your views while noting the opposing view, I changed the wording to "of any aircraft that has ever flown" and added a hidden note about the Stratolaunch. --RBBrittain (talk) 20:02, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, reverting your change was accidental. The revert war is due to the fact that aircraft records don't count unless the aircraft has actually flown. Your recent change will probably save me a few more reverts. :) Rob (talk) 20:11, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
