Welcome![edit]

Hello, Rsalven, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Fiskars, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello Rsalven, I have fixed the reference, you added ("ref name" is just an internal label, and it was missing an actual URL). You can find more information about Wikipedia's referencing at WP:REFB. In case you are working for this company, please make sure to read WP:COI and disclose a possible "conflict of interest". Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 16:45, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Dear GermanJoe,

Thank you for your help! I did try in my original edits to disclose my affiliation with Fiskars Corporation - I represent the company in that I am a member of the corporate communications team. Please let me know if you feel that I need to update my handle to clearer mark my affiliation to the company.

I have also cited published sources for all content and tried to be neutral only removing old information on the organizational structure or brands that the company no longer owns to stay in the spirit of open collaboration and being true and fair. If I wish to make any further edits, I would be more than happy to create them as a suggestion for review first.

You're welcome (I somehow missed your initial edit summary, my bad). I'll add the appropriate template on the article's talkpage for clarity. Thank you for your consideration. GermanJoe (talk) 10:26, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have now trimmed some of the more problematic additions but tried to kept most of the factual changes. Two main points to keep in mind: 1) All claims of pioneering, excellence, quality, etc. must be sourced by an independent reliable soure. 2) Such articles should avoid excessive internal details about the company's history and structure, but provide a succinct sourced overview of only the most notable facts. Please feel free to ask me, if you have further questions about Wikipedia's content or editing guidelines. GermanJoe (talk) 11:15, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help and the comment about independent reliable sources is crystal clear. Rsalven (talk) 12:18, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Germanjoe, It seems that Fiskars net sales and operating profit have been reverted to the 2015 numbers. Will update to 2016 and add Fiskars Annual Report 2016 as a source. Best regards, Robert Rsalven (talk) 10:17, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
