Plagiarism[edit]

Hi, looking at your sandbox, I notice that you have copied a sentence completely from another source. That is the first sentence in your writing starting at "During the last 20 Ma". This is not acceptable, and you should rewrite everything in your own words. I can see it in https://www.scribd.com/document/30444206/Introduction-to-Geology-and-geodynamics-of-Iceland-Reidar-Tr%C5%A1nnes and also http://docplayer.net/21193881-Retrograde-alteration-of-basaltic-rocks-in-the-theistareykir-high-temperature-geothermal-field-north-iceland.html. Did you know[edit]

Hello Ron.

I have nominated the page you wrote for the WP:Did you know evaluation. If the article passes this means that an exciting fact from the geological deformation of Iceland page will be linked from the Wikipedia mainpage. Then hundreds to thousands of readers will come to read the page. This means that we have to get the most exciting fact from your article. A picture that looks good when small is also attractive. I have included one picture. For the facts I have: "the geological deformation of Iceland is resulting in cracks opening up (example pictured) in the surface" and "there are two major transform faults zones where Iceland is actively deforming". If you can come up with extra short facts from the article that would be great. Also are you able to confirm that these statements are actually true, and that the reference confirms them? There may be requests from a reviewer for extra referencing or fixing problems. This extra work is optional. But I hope you would find it rewarding to have many people looking at your work. DYK for Geological deformation of Iceland[edit]

On 20 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Geological deformation of Iceland, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the geological deformation of Iceland is resulting in cracks opening up in the surface (example pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Geological deformation of Iceland. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Geological deformation of Iceland), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello! I saw your article, Geological deformation of Iceland on DYK today, so I took the liberty to furnish it with new images. Please let me know if you have any concerns with them, but I believe that I matched your intent. To know one reason why I did this, please see c:Commons:Transition to SVG. Note that that is not a rule, you have done nothing wrong. It is just a suggestion for a way vector graphics artists like myself can improve the encyclopedia by using SVG to allow images to look better on high resolution displays and high resolution mobile phones. I have added the images I replaced below for your convenience so you can see them both without leaving this page. Thank you very much for your contributions to Wikipedia.
