Page Curation newsletter

Hey Rehnn83. I'm dropping you a note because you used to (or still do!) patrol new pages. This is just to let you know that we've deployed and developed Page Curation, which augments and supersedes Special:NewPages - there are a lot of interesting new features :). There's some help documentation here if you want to familiarise yourself with the system and start using it. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks! St. Helens, Merseyside

Hi Rehnn63, When I first saw this, 'towns' had no apostrophe, so knowing of course that it meant 'of the town' I naturally added 's '(no, I don't suffer from the 'apostrophe 's' everywhere syndrome !) Some bright spark then decided to undo it, saying that it was like that in the original source material (strangely without giving a ref for the original source) - hence the (sic) Glad somebody thinks the same way as I do ! The article Joint Services Parachute Centre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no apparent notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Rehnn83:Temp/JSPC, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Joint Services Parachute Centre. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 09:21, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Rehnn83, and thank you for your contributions!

Some text in an article that you worked on Rehnn83:Temp/JSPC, appears to be directly copied from another Wikipedia article, Joint Services Parachute Centre. Please take a minute to double-check that you've properly attributed the source text in your edit summary.

It's entirely possible that this bot made a mistake, so please feel free to remove this notice and the tag it placed on Rehnn83:Temp/JSPC at any time. MadmanBot (talk) 13:42, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Cyclosportives Page

I've been trying to add a links to good resources of sportives and gran fondo and you keep deleting them, why? whats wrong with my contributions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sportiver (talkcontribs) 11:51, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not not repository of links (a link farm), there's already external links in the references there's no need for more links. See WP:LINKFARM - Rehnn83 Talk 11:56, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Unfair Removal of Links

I've been trying to add a few links to some good website that will help people find events. I've looked at other pages on Wiki and there are other links to external website.

I've tried to put in the link in the correct format after you highlighted, only to have it removed and then been givem a warning that I'm a spammer which I'm not.

To be honest - Wiki does itself not favours by not letting anyone else contribute fairly by Wiki Trolls.

Speedy deletion declined: Jane Cummings

Hello Rehnn83. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Jane Cummings, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 16:24, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

New Taipei Municipal Shiding High School

Sorry, but no, it didn't meet A7. Educational establishments are exempt from A7 for some reason that I've never discovered. If they are non-notable (but high schools are usually presumed to be notable), they have to go to prod or AfD. Any other CSD criterion can be used if appropriate, though, and I took this one out under lack of content as there was damn all apart from a website link. Speedy deletion declined: Kobomani tapir

Hello Rehnn83. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Kobomani tapir, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this isn't an A7 - it's a new species, not an individual animal, and it's notable. Redirected to existing article. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 10:49, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Tour Of NIlgiris

Hi,

We just saw that the whole data has been deleted without suggesting anything. If there are any Advertisement activity, do suggest us what to do than deleting the whole article. What needs to done to make the whole article available with edits.

And why cant this event be a Cyclosportive? given me the reasons.

Thanks & Best Regards, Deepak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deepak majipatil (talkcontribs) 15:31, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I've explained the edits on the Tour of Nilgiris talk page. In summary the article had been tagged as being written like an advertisement and it required additional citations for verification. There was no need for summaries of each individual years as they didn't appear to meet the criteria for inclusion under WP:EVENT. It's not listed as a Cyclosportive as both the article and cited source describe it as a bicycle tour. Please feel free to improve the article, but if you have a Conflict of Interest (e.g. you are personally associated with the event) I'd suggest leaving it to your peers to write & review the article. The vast majority of the article wasn't relevant for an encyclopaedia (like Wikipedia), you may wish to review WP:NOT to see what you should avoid adding. Rehnn83 Talk 15:42, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, Will look into reference you had mentioned & get an article which doen't look like a Advertisment. As Per Term Cyclosportive - Its a tour for some people and a competitive one for some. This event what I am talking about has both the elements & I dont see it not fit to be a Cyclosportive.
Reference about this in this link too http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/article/what-is-a-sportive-13986/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deepak majipatil (talkcontribs) 04:12, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
If you want any help please ask me, I'm happy to help or use the the Tour of Nilgiris talk page.

Hi, I understand. But no one in a million years expected them to win the cup that year, everyone wrote them off and didn't take them as a threat. I just felt they deserve to remain on the page.--Dr. Pizza (talk) 11:19, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

That's not really for an encyclopaedic article, it's more for a fan-site or sports-website. I've left the paragraph/section in there as the-cited reference do make a clear case of them being a good example Rehnn83 Talk 11:24, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

BAFRA

I would like to know why you are removing a comment from BAFRA page , when the comment is fact , it is not vandalism , he did it and I was merely informing the public , of what he had done — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 11:08, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

It's uncited (i.e. there's no reference to support it) and it's not relevant to the article either. Rehnn83 Talk 11:10, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
WHY ARE YOU DELETING FACTUAL INFORMATION JUST COZ YOU DONT LIKE IT[edit]
HI, A simple question for you , but I think you will not answer , HOW can a fact that is true and been shown in an English court of law to be a true fact, be classed as, in your words " negative unsourced content" I can provide the relevant documentation to prove what I entered on the BAFRA page , and you have taken it upon your self to sensor a matter of fact. Can you please show me in the Wikipedia rules , were it stats that facts should be removed from the pages and also why it is also classed as defamatory. Please remember I can provide documentation stamped by a judge in an English court of law to prove this fact , also documentary evidence , signed by the person I was naming — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 14:00, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
I'd suggest you read the following Wikipedia Rules:
* The content must be verifiable. Verifiability means that people reading and editing the encyclopaedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source.
* The content must be relevant. Quite simply put if a fact is not relevant to the topic of the article, it should not be mentioned in that article. So I'd ask what relevance do your facts have to the article? What do your facts contribute to the article?
* Anything about living people or recently deceased must adhere to the policy Biographies of living persons.
I'd also suggest you create an account and remember to sign your posts on a talk page. Rehnn83 Talk 14:13, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
The content is from a reliable source ( it was my wife who he was with )and can be found in the court records, the article shows him as perfect and he was far from it , the people reading this have the right to know that he was not perfect and that is how =my FACTS are relevant"
You sanctimonious individual
Free speech does not apply on Wikipedia then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 14:39, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
and I have no reason to create an account to argue with you , — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 14:47, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Should I upload copies of the court papers and display them , would that be enough of a reliable source for you ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 14:50, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Thank you but I think you've missed the point. If you wish to contribute further I'd suggest you read the above articles I've linked to. They state what constitutes a reliable source, and how to cite the source. They also demonstrate how to determine if information is relevant to the article (Remember this article is not about the individual). The articles also demonstrate what should and should not be included when writing biographical information about living and recently deceased people. Rehnn83 Talk 14:59, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Whatever?? you are quite clearly not interested in the truth , only what you think is allowed, I think you have a very high opinion of your self.
I can provide all the relevant documents which show it is true and also it shows what kind of person he really was , the article fails to show that , but hey you don't want people to know the truth then so be it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk) 15:08, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
I'm afraid you're still totally missing the point! You have to consider if anyting you add to an article is relevant (I'd suggest you go and read WP:REL. What relevance do your facts have to the article? Your facts belong in an article on the individual concerned, not an article about an association of which he happened to be a member. I note there's no article about the individual concerned and that's probably because he isn't notable. A divorce or divorce court proceedings are not notable as a stand-a-lone event. Wikipeida is not a diary or a newspaper of every event that has ever happened. Even if you can reference your facts, not all verifiable events are suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. What was the lasting effect of the event? Would a member of the general populace reading this article want or need to know your facts? 99%+ of similar cases are not mentioned on Wikipedia, I feel your facts belong in the 99 percentile. Rehnn83 Talk 09:26, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

I do agree with what your point and accept that maybe what I entered was not applicable , however to state that it is slander is not correct, From Wikipedia pages "Defamation" Under common law, to constitute defamation, a claim must generally be FALSE and have been made to someone other than the person defamed.[1] Some common law jurisdictions also distinguish between spoken defamation, called slander, and defamation in other media such as printed words or images, called libel and as the note was fact and can be proved it is not slander anyway I think I have had enough of this discussion , rest assured If I make any further edits I will provide evidence, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk)12 November 2014 (UTC)

First of all please observe some simple courtesies.
1 - Please sign your posts.
2 - Please don't simply "Copy & Paste" what you wrote on another talk page to here. If you have a point to make please do so in a sensible, civilised & reasonable manner.
I never claimed the comment was defaming (and in fact no-one except YOU has - the only claim is that it was potentially defaming (which is true) ). You've been asked to to provide references, demonstrate relevance and adhere to the policy on Biographies of living persons, none of which you've so far done. As with almost everything there's rules you have to follow, however you seem to think that the rules don't apply to you, well they do! You need to accept there's rules and YOU need to follow them! Rehnn83 Talk 12:26, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
what's with the """YOU"""  ????? you really are a little dictator arn't you !!!!!
I have checked and I apologies you didn't say it was slander , you said it was vandalism , it was you colleague FROSTY who has clearly stated it is slander , LMAO slander is spoken and can only be slander when it is False maybe the two of you should follow your own rules on being civil— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.18.72 (talk)12 November 2014 (UTC)
