May 2019[edit]

Hi Justlettersandnumbers, my edit was attempting to show that on the show Shane and Ryan claimed the bridge, I was attempting to show that they had claimed it on the show, not that they rightfully owned it.

A tag has been placed on Grand Republic of Cycoldia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. –eggofreason(talk · contribs) 16:31, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Grand Republic of Cycoldia[edit]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Grand Republic of Cycoldia has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appeared to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that did not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ST47 (talk) 01:29, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to say that this is very different then the piece on the article, as for the reason on the article you say "A7, A11, possibly G3. Fictional "nation" with no credible claim of importance, obviously made up by the article's creator. WP:SNOW consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Grand Republic of Cycoldia." in which you claim the nation is fictitious, which it very much is not, as well it is not made up, instead it was created over a year ago and has grown substantially to be able to have a fully functioning government and cooperate with other micronations as shown by https://micronations.wiki/wiki/Grand_Republic_of_Cycoldia. If you want to delete it at least put a real reason, or please let the conversation about the references last longer, as there are many references I never got to add. --Real DarkLuke2005 (talk) 02:19, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Real DarkLuke2005. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Dorsetonian (talk) 07:23, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I added what was sourced, I simply was not provided time to compile my sources, in which I had then moved the page to my sandbox so that I could work on compiling it, therefore I find it highly inappropriate to consider it persistent publication of unsourced information, as I published 1 article a tad bit early, in which then I advocated for it to be restored so that I could compile my sources and add them, in which I then was met with a deletion notice immediately, and the page was taken back down in 4 hours instead of the 7 day normality because of the snowball clause. I then resided myself to putting it on the sandbox of my user and getting other people who are knowledgeable about Cycoldia to help me with the page, so I find that being blocked for something that happened once would be illogical, as I have not attempted to restore the page myself at all, as well I have not been given any monetary contributions in my edits. Real DarkLuke2005 (talk) 15:10, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You compile your sources before you make your edits, not after. And I'm deeply disappointed you think Cycoldia is an appropriate article for Wikipedia. As such, I'm declining your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 15:30, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hello, after there was a (pretty short) talk about the possible deletion of Grand Republic of Cycoldia and after it's deletion, I think resigned to compiling sources in my user sandbox on the page so that I could then publish a fully made article, it was then after simply adding it to my sandbox that I was blocked, I find that not to be encyclopedic, as well I find that the review of the previous request to be unblocked includes that they do not think that Cycoldia (a micronation) is appropriate for Wikipedia, although I will present that there are other micronations on Wikipedia, such as Republic of Molossia, Grand Duchy of Flandrensis, Westarctica, and Aerican Empire. Hence this is why I find me being blocked to be an issue, as I was working on making the page a quality one with fully compiled sources in my sandbox, which was also deleted.Real DarkLuke2005 (talk) 15:47, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Wikipedia isn't a free webhost for material about in a club that you made up with some friends at school. Since that is clearly your only objective here, the block will stand. ST47 (talk) 18:48, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice from a fellow editor[edit]

Creating a micronation sounds like a rewarding project - both fun and educational - for yourself and your friends. I commend you for it. However - and here is the harsh reality - Wikipedia is not interested, just as is is not interested in my own school projects back in the day or the Amazing Things I do and create now. They do not meet the standards of notability. Editing on Wikipedia with a conflict of interest is strongly discouraged because it prevents objective assessment, which I fear is happening here. You are not going to be unblocked if you continue to assert that you have been misunderstood, or that your micronation is a real and important thing - and if you do want to be I strongly suggest you promise faithfully to interest yourself only in things with which you have no conflict of interest, and also explain what measures you took to prevent anyone else using your account after this event compromised it. Dorsetonian (talk) 18:11, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the reason I am upset now is that there are other micronations, and I understood why it was not going to be on wikipedia in it's current state after the snowball deletion, so I put it on my sandbox so that I could get notability for it and to be able to make it a better page, as well I had contacted some other people who had known about Cycoldia, but had not had interaction in it's government, but yet still the page (on my sandbox) was deleted and me blocked, making the idea of the page existing and not having a conflict of interest to be a fantasy, to not even be given a chance So I am not longer a fellow editor, because no matter how much I know on anything, or how much I know on the coding for it, I am still blocked. So I guess I'll never be able to edit here again.

Sincerely, User:Summi Imperatoris (talk) 20:25, 21 November 2019 (UTC) for what will most likely be the last time.[reply]
