Re Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department - it's not "your page". Please see WP:OWN. If you want to add this assertion, please cite to a specific source that we can check and verify, see WP:V. "New York Police Department" is not a specific citation. Tell us specifically WHERE to find this fact. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:40, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, really, you need to listen to NawlinWiki's notice. The Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department page is not "your page", it's a page about your organization. You don't own it, and you can't simply ignore the input of other editors. Wikipedia is a collaborative process, and refusal to enter into that collaborative spirit can get you blocked. You appear to be engaged in an edit war. You have made a change which now three different editors have disagreed with and reverted. Before making the change again, enter into a discussion on the talk page rather than simply ignoring the edits of others. Failure to enter into this discussion will result in a revocation of your editing privileges, if only temporarily. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:49, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Where can I find the Roosevelt Island crime statistics?[edit]

If you would point me to a source, AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET, that shows that Roosevelt Island is a "low crime area" or the "lowest crime area in the city", we would be glad to have that fact in the article. So far, I can't find one. I can find the stats for the 114th Precinct, but that includes a lot of Queens besides Roosevelt Island. We can't just take your word that "the Police Department" is a source. Show us where to find it! NawlinWiki (talk) 15:54, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department, and I noticed that your username, "RIPSOBA", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". January 2019[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
