List of victims of Beit Hanoun incident[edit]

My rationale for not including the list of victims comes from my only other (brief) involvement with a similar article, the Omagh bombing, where it was decided that a list of casualties was not appropriate content. As you have noted, several other articles contain similar lists: perhaps these should be discussed at their talk pages. If a list of casualties is deemed to add value to the article then it should be included, otherwise not. I don't believe the list of names in this case adds any further information to the article - it already lists the number of casualties in some detail. If you disagree feel free to open a discussion on the article's talk page. Cheers. QmunkE 12:16, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I came across this discussion some where and hav been following it around over afew pages and found that it originated here. You mention on the article talk page that the Omagh bombing names were removed. However, I'd like to drect your attention to this. This is a way of inserting information which many Wikipedians believe to be pertinent into an article space without a) making the article seems like a long list, b) giving the impression that that article is intended to be an homage to the dead (remember, WP is neutral) and c) annoying those who might take exception to seeing the names on the main article page (I realise that this third problem should actually be dealt with more directly, but it does at least save argument in the short term). If you have any comments let me know, all the best.--Jackyd101 23:58, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
