I have an idea for a bot that could potentially simplify communication on Wikipedia. Before I potentially waste my time coding it now, I have posted a specification so that the Wikipedia community can offer input on the proposal. Is it a good idea or not, and how can it be improved on? PleaseStand (talk) 05:57, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A good idea. I don't see too many obstacles for this one, but then again... Anyways, I shall start working on a client-side js which allows users to post tbs selectively on the pages of users participating in a discussion. ManishEarthTalkStalk 10:37, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't Friendly already have something like this? –xenotalk 17:02, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't automatically fill in the page, and it requires that the user turn on the script. In particular, Friendly is based on Twinkle, which is not supported on the Internet Explorer web browser. PleaseStand (talk) 21:33, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not a bad idea for a bot. Don't forget to also skip pages containing a blanket {{nobots}} or {{bots|deny=all}} statement. –xenotalk 17:02, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have made some changes to the proposal to be less obtrusive. PleaseStand (talk) 22:09, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And another to be more intuitive. PleaseStand (talk) 18:01, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And a small change in the way the talkbacks subpage works. PleaseStand (talk) 21:33, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
