You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eurasian Observatory for Democracy & Elections requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. C679 07:03, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

AN/I notice and your spamming, forum shopping and canvassing[edit]

This message is to make you aware of my comment at thew AN/I thread here: [2]. Basically I don't want you to be able to claim that you have not been aware of it.

Your actions have crossed the line from legitimately seeking avenues for dispute resolution, to stalking and harassment. You're violating WP:FORUMSHOPPING, WP:CANVASSING and WP:SPAM.

I'd appreciate it if you undid the postings to the individual talk pages (you can go ahead with your RfC/U all you want) and addressed my comment that I linked to above.

Thanks.Volunteer Marek (talk) 01:29, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Volunteer Marek: After a feedback from another user, I recognize that adding RfC/U notices to article talk pages (six in this case) is not right and I removed the last remaining notice myself. Petr Matas 04:28, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Module:Convert[edit]

I noticed you added cs:Template:Convert at the transwiki guide. That's good! However, are you planning to do translations as outlined at Template:Convert/Transwiki guide/translate? If yes, and if you want some assistance, I would like to put all discussion at my user subpage at cswiki. Convert is complex and it would be very hard to work out how to translate everything without help. The first step would be to provide some of the information for translation_table outlined at the translate page. Johnuniq (talk) 10:21, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will reply at cs:User talk:Johnuniq. Petr Matas 10:38, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Anatomy Wikiproject![edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Anatomy! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of anatomy articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing anatomy articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:

  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing anatomy articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
  • Lastly, why not try and strive to create a good article! Anatomical articles are often small in scope, have available sources, and only a limited amount of research available that is readily presentable!

Feel free to contact us on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! --Tom (LT) (talk) 21:03, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Petr,

I ran into this and am confused as to what its function is. Cheers, Airplaneman 08:05, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some documentation. Petr Matas 13:25, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Template:Bold link if not equal/doc. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. The Banner talk 00:20, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And I guess you really did not look at my argumentation. What you do is adding a link to a disambiguation page that showed up in a maintenance list. But you stubbornly keep adding that link. The Banner talk 00:20, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I did look and I explained why I think your argumentation was wrong. Please go to the talk page and reply. Petr Matas 00:26, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Party name templates[edit]

Hello Petr. As you can see, I've undone your edit to Myanmar general election, 2010. Using the party name templates is extremely unhelpful for readers, as it doesn't display the party's name, only its initials (which are meaningless in many cases). Cheers, Number 57 11:13, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Similar comment from me here compared to the one above. Number 57 and I had quite an extensive discussion yesterday about how the tables should be laid out, which spread out over both of our talk pages. Some of these tables come out very strangley on different browsers - I use Opera and Internet Explorer during the day, whereas Number 57 is using Chrome. The table you inserted in this revision here probably looks nice in some browsers, but it has issues with cell walls on IE. Since you've also waded into the discussion then I think we need to discuss an example table template somewhere and be very clear amongst ourselves that such a format will be used all over. The most important part of that is that the table displays properly in all browsers, rather than having issues with where cell walls and line breaks do or do not display. The 1990 election page seems to be our agreed example of best practice in how to proceed. Like me you're probably wondering what all the fuss is about, but it's definitely worth us all being absolutely clear how all the tables should be presented in order to ensure good presentation and stylistic consistency across all Myanmar election articles. Maswimelleu (talk) 14:58, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To editor Maswimelleu: Thank you for your comments. I have fixed the missing cells. Does it render correctly now? I think that the new table has the same basic style as the 1990 table. The seats before and after are there to supply context, which is much more important for a by-election than for regular elections. What do you think? Petr Matas 18:08, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are right that we need to supply the seats before/after context somehow. Personally I think the table now is a tiny bit too detailed, and I think the columns should be re-arranged somewhat. The gains/losses/change columns are probably too much given that no party both gained and lost seats. I think the seats before and seats after columns should be nearer to the seats one column. It's quite difficult to find an example of a similar table because most by-election pages do not include a summary of all by-elections held on the same day. I'll fill in missing data (seats before/after) to the table, but I think certain refinements could be made before the format is used for the other two on the page. Maswimelleu (talk) 18:23, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, go ahead. I agree that we should remove the gains and losses and I think that we should keep the change column. Petr Matas 18:40, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Petr. Sorry for reverting you on the Myanmar article, but I do feel that the template is not in a good state at the moment. If you can modify it so that it presents the data in the usual way (i.e. the order of columns being party, votes, %, seats, seat change), I'd be ok with using it. However, I do question why we need it when it's easier to create a Wikitable. Cheers, Number 57 12:01, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Module:Sum[edit]

Could you modify the sum template so that it has options to add commas, and rounding to certain significant figures? Kurzon (talk) 17:26, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would prefer to keep it small and simple. How about surrounding the call with a template fitting your needs? For example: {{Rnd|{{Sum|1234|567}}|1}}. Petr Matas 17:57, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but do you have something that adds commas? Kurzon (talk) 18:02, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
{{Rnd|{{Sum|1234|567}}|1}} → 1,801.0
Petr Matas 19:13, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh right, thanks. I also discovered sigfig. I wish I knew about these earlier. Kurzon (talk) 19:16, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
