Image use[edit]

Hi. It's nice to see you doing such great work with the Earth, Wind & Fire articles, but I have some concerns with some of your images. Earth Wind and Fire 2004 Grammys.jpg, for instance, doesn't seem consistent with our policy on non-free content. There are free images of the band already within the article, so we don't seem to need an unfree image. Meanwhile, File:Earth Wind and Fire Symbol.jpg and File:Earth, Wind & Fire - The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1.jpg are far larger than the limits imposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums, which says with respect to covers, "The width of the image should ideally be no less than 200px (the default display size of the infobox), but it should be no more than 300px on at least one side (to satisfy fair use criteria)."

I also note that you've included File:Earth Wind and Fire Symbol.jpg in the article Earth, Wind & Fire, but you have not included a "fair use rationale" for doing so at the image page. We must include a separate "fair use rationale" for every article in which an image is used. I've left the image in place for now, although I'm seeking feedback on what to do with the large image since a smaller version is already available. But please go ahead and provide that "fair use rationale" so that the image does not need to be removed.

Wikipedia is very careful with non-free content to ensure that it can be reused widely. Our purpose is not only to display articles on the Wikipedia website, but to allow them to be safely reused by anyone, anywhere, for any purpose—even commercially—which is why we try to limit fair use content even more rigorously than is allowed by United States law. (See our non free content policy & guideline for more on that.)

Images are not really my major area, but if you have any questions about image use, I'll be happy to try to answer them or to track down somebody who can. Since I work extensively with text copyright concerns, I do know several administrators on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons who are very familiar with non-free content policy regarding images.
