- I wouldn't sweat on the trolls asking for the world. Look below at the website I link to for the citation generator - you enter the info on a reference (often a website, sometimes print) and it spits out the code using the cite template which is what the wikipedia purists seem to want to see. Many articles only have web links as their citations (that was the only type of citation available in the early days) but now the gold standard are the cite template ones that have all the info in them. Also they seem to want citations from many differing publications - articles with mostly state.gov links get pummelled so mixing it up (sammies, fednewsradio, etc.) appeases them a bit. While putting web links in articles is great for citations, I'd like you to look at the citation generator at http://toolserver.org/~magnus/makeref.php for expanding your citations. The article Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Intercontinental is an investment adviser regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission which includes strict marketing rules. As such we need to either take the Wikipedia page down or be able to lock the content so it cannot be edited by anyone except Intercontinental.
We have tried previously to update the data to be accurate, but non-Intercontiental persons change the data we provide. The content they add is materially inaccurate and greatly impacts Intercontinental’s adherence to the SEC’s marketing rules.
The goal is to either delete the page altogether and set it so that one cannot be created, or lock the page so that only Intercontinental authorized users can make changes to its content.
