I didn't realise we were both editing at the same time. I'm out of your way now though... Happy editing! :)  -- WikHead (talk) 19:37, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the welcome. I am enjoying this immensely. Can I contact you with questions? How do I do that?Paraphysical (talk) 20:40, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you can leave a message on my talk page, but since you already have my attention, please just ask away! :)  -- WikHead (talk) 21:11, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm on to some other things for now, but please give me any suggestion you have about what I have done so far. We need a community of practice for this condition, and this seems to be a great anchor for such an effort. Peace and Joy 98.169.98.120 (talk) 21:14, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As for the article itself (formatting, layout, etc.) it looks pretty good to me, and I can see that you've put a lot of work into it. One concern that I do have however, is the fact that it may duplicate or closely emulate the Premature ovarian failure article... in which case, it may be in the best interest of the project to merge the two articles together. I personally don't know enough about the topic to make such a call or perferm a decent merge myself. Seeing as you are quite knowledgeable on the topic, is there much difference between the two?  -- WikHead (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The term "premature ovarian failure" is meant to imply that all of the follicles have been depleted from the ovary and there is no hope for conception. Data has shown that 75% of patients with this condition have follicles remaining in the ovary, which means conception is possible, and we know that occurs. There is a group call IPOFA, which stands for "International Premature Ovarian Failure Association". It is a group run by nurses and they use the term "Premature Ovarian Failure" as their trademark for their organization. They have taken a nasty approach to resisting change to the more scientifically accurate term. Their page on this is quite biased and it refers patients to their website and to their support groups. There is anecdotal evidence that groups such as this can harm women. All it takes is one patient with a personality disorder to get into the group and major harm is possible. There is one report of a patient with this condition committing suicide, and her diary made it clear that the associated infertility was the major motivator. I have grave concerns about referring patients to groups that do not have professional oversight by a mental health professional. Any suggestions on how to proceed?Paraphysical (talk) 22:07, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I updated the article accordingly.Paraphysical (talk) 22:36, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to keep you waiting. From what I can see, everything looks to be in order. It may be a wise idea however, to put a note of this in the article's talk page... just in case another editor decides to request a merge or redirect the article elsewhere. It will at least give a bit of security to all your efforts. Should you have any further questions in the future, please feel free to post on my talk page! :)  -- WikHead (talk) 22:52, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I addressed this on the talk page. Great idea! Paraphysical (talk) 00:08, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
