The Good Wife (TV series)

You have added a great deal of information to The Good Wife (TV series) in a new section entitled 'Crew'. Unfortunately, the section is completely unreferenced. I have placed a tag on the page stating this. Please add reliable sources for your information. Thanks! --Logical Fuzz (talk) 21:48, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm getting there. The cast and awards sections are also completely unreferenced - perhaps we could work together to add some sources to the article?--Opark 77 (talk) 21:57, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I wasn't meaning to rush you. I did notice that the awards section was also unsourced and will search for some refs for it. As far as the cast, it doesn't seem to me that those sections routinely cite sources once the show had aired? I could very well be wrong there. I'm not "contesting" anything there. (Not that I am contesting your section, either, it's just that it's easier to source it now.) I'll try to work on the awards tonight. --Logical Fuzz (talk) 22:23, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
No problem. Its my responsibility to source it and its fine to be reminded to do so. I've worked the most on The Wire (TV series) in the past and we sourced the cast section there using references to the network's official site for the show. I don't think its done for most TV series but might be worth doing if we are trying to polish the article to a high standard.--Opark 77 (talk) 22:29, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Good work on the awards section.--Opark 77 (talk) 01:09, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

List of ER episodes

I reverted your removal of {{UF-timeline}} from List of ER episodes. You described my addition of it as linkspam, whereas the template is a long-standing one, already used elsewhere. Furthermore, your description fails to assume good faith. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 00:39, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Apologies. What is the template for? Why does it link to a site unrelated to the article that asked me to provide URLs?--Opark 77 (talk) 00:42, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
The internal links produced by the template will answer your questions. If you scroll down below the URL entry boxes, you should see the timeline generated by the linking page. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 00:49, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I'm afraid that I followed the internal links and the purpose of the template was not obvious to me, I'm admittedly unfamiliar with writing templates and the specifics of microformats for dates. I did scroll down on the externally linked page and there is no timeline - there is a grey area with dates on an x axis that looks as though a timeline should appear there. Is this a browser issue at my end or is there something wrong with this instance of the template? What benefit does having this template in the external links of this article provide to the project?--Opark 77 (talk) 00:55, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
There seems to be a bug with the external site; I've notified its owner. Once its fixed, hopefully soon, all should be clear. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 07:58, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Linking

Hi, I noticed that you restored some repeating links on Treme. Allright, let it be so, they don't really clutter the page a lot. But I believe you explanation that first mentions in each section should be linked is incorrect. Here it says that it should only be done if the word is found far from its earlier occurrence. ;) --TheBearPaw (talk) 08:40, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

McKay page

Hi, Owen -

My name is Jim McKay and in reviewing my page a few times, I have noticed that you've done a bunch of editing on it. I totally appreciate your work and we share a giant interest and respect for Pelecanos, The Wire, etc. But I am writing to ask you to please stop changing my page so that it is completely Wire-centric. I am a television director but I've also directed 4 films and my body of work is vast and diverse. It does not revolve around the Wire. I am going to do an update to the page this week and I'd truly appreciate it if you would respect the changes that I make. From one Wire fan to another, many thanks,

Jim —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.56.35 (talk) 15:11, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

File:TheWire60.jpg listed for deletion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:TheWire60.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 10:56, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

The article Greer Shephard has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Sadads (talk) 11:29, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Homicide

Hey Opark. I see that you voted in support of my FAC for Homicide: Life on the Street (season 2). While I appreciate the support, could you perhaps include a bit more about why you feel it meets FA criteria? The FAC process isn't strictly a vote, so if you simply write support with no further rationale, that support vote probably won't count in the end. Thanks again! — Hunter Kahn 16:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

The article Crew of The Shield has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article has no reference. The most important people to the production are mentioned on the show's page so there's no need to have a separate page that details everything. If someone wants more detail, he can go to IMDb...

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on File:The Wire Dangelo Barksdale.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. INeverCry 20:49, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The Wire Horseface.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:The Wire Horseface.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:01, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
