Kir[edit]

Thanks for the explanatory comments - you might care to copy them to the Kir talk page, as someone else might find them useful. The blanc-cass name is an informal form used most in Burgundy, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that the blanc-cassé form is folk etymology, since the sense of off-white would probably make more sense to outsiders in cases where liqueurs other than cassis were used. I think though that information straight, as it were, from the horse's mouth clinches the matter - Félix Kir himself referred to the drink as blanc cassis. As quoted here, Kir gave permission for his name to be used " pour désigner un vin blanc cassis". Man vyi 18:33, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Planets in the Firefly solar system[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I replied to your question on the Firefly Talk page about why Firefly's one star with many planets system isn't possible in the real world. To save you a click:

"(At least one of) The problems is the fact that each planet is as bright as the rest. Hell, the outer planets seem to get more sunlight than the Core planets. This simply cannot happen in reality. The further out a planet is, the less sunlight it get's. In our solar system, if you were to get out to Pluto then the sun wouldn't be too different than any other star in terms of how bright it is. If you were to make it to Mercury the Sun would take up most of the sky and be extremely bright. The only way the planets could all receive the same amount of light was if they were extremely close together. However, as system maps and the fact that it takes so long to move between planets show, they are spread out fairly well."

I have no problem at all with examples to illustrate what a "dilemma story" is. I have a problem with one that seems to be in such poor taste. Template:User is-0[edit]
