Absolutely extreme badassness; it never gets more badass

28 April 2008

I added the diff and history links in for any doubters of this authenticity. I added in the color and links just to make it more like it appears in the watchlist. This rules. Odin and/or Satan must be totally with me. Nah, but it's still an awesome coincidence. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:17, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
I've had a couple of '666's in my day :P I guess only the Satanic Elite truly notice them =D ≈ The Haunted Angel 23:26, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Hahaha! Yeah. So does this make me Odalistic elite as well? I just think it's suprememly badass that it was on the Viking metal list page of all pages. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:29, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Haha, I think the mighty Norse Gods have smiled upon thee... ≈ The Haunted Angel 23:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Lol, I hope so. That would be nice. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 17:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi Daniel

I ignored you? When? If I did, I'm sorry, but it was never intentional. I'm glad things are you going well for you. The thing to avoid blocks is: Just report :-) - Don't revert, there's absolutely no rush whatsoever. WP:1RR would be a good standard to follow as I know you have a slight temper (I mean no offence by that, it's just your age. Happens to all of us at one point.). Other than that, I'm glad things are going good. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to buzz me. If you have MSN you can add me at scarian AT o2 DOT co DOT uk :-) Take care! MetALLCORE

OK, you're right, most of the nu metal bands sux, but in the metalcore page, i'm just reading your POV...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nu89 (talk contribs) 03:33, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

What? I can't understand you. Yeah, nu metal sucks and so does metalcore. And? Yes, I write with a POV on talks pages at times. So? Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:39, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

im really sorry about my recent edits, i did not mean to cause any trouble. But i read your article and you reffered to some music as "gay shit". surely there is something wrong with that. x. User: Megastrike14

TragicSerenades

Yeah ive been busy as well. Yeah i edited the date that they broke up, but someone changed it back. The celtic frost forum and metal archives both said they were officially split up so yeah... —Preceding unsigned comment added by TragicSerenades (talkcontribs) 20:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Music

Do you mean what kind of music do I like?Kaityface (talk) 22:41, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Indeed, I am a metalcore/screamo fan, I suppose you could say that. I do like Nile and they come from my state too. But I don't only like metalcore/hardcore/screamo and what not, I like a pretty broad amount of music. But along the lines of that genre, I like Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, As Blood Runs Black, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, Heaven Shall Burn, The Human Abstract, Belay My Last, Between the Buried and Me, The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, Protest the Hero, and many more. Just to list a few :) Kaityface (talk) 23:49, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Eh, not a big fan of the metalcore or screamo genre. Sorry. More a metalhead. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:52, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
It's all good, I totally understand. I'm glad to make your acquantince though. Kaityface (talk) 00:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Black Metal

Let's make a new Wikiproject. Since there is a project for Slipknot, let's make one that's better. A Black Metal Wikiproject. I'm making it on my sandbox,so come to my sandbox, if you want, and help build it. Btw, the sandbox is found Here. Undeath (talk) 01:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Machine Head is groove metal

1- I´m not a metalhead, i just like Thrash and melodeath; 2- I have a copy of "the blackening" (I think its groove metal, not metalcore); 3- Nu In flames has few influences from metalcore and NOTHING from the real alternative metal, just listen................ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nu89 (talkcontribs) 16:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

RE: Thanks

Hi. Thanks for your note. I do try to review the situations in as much detail as possible, and act as consistently as I can with each party. Cheers TigerShark (talk) 13:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Blizzard Beast

Hi again. I notice that you sign your comments as Blizzard Beast which is very different from your username. This can cause confusion for other users (it did for me), so I wondered if you had considered changing your username to Blizzard Beast too. If you think this is something that you might want to do, you might find WP:UNC useful. Cheers TigerShark (talk) 13:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

I would have asked Tom myself....But well turns out he was a huge prick to me. It's a long story. TragicSerenades (talk) 16:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

NWOAHM

Okay, sorry to have to do this but anyone who changes the article from now on with incur an edit warring block in order to protect that specific article. That's the deal. Essentially, this is WP:1RR except you'll be blocked at 1 revert. This goes to User:Navnløs and User:Lykantrop: If the article in question is changed again (no matter what state it is in) then you will be blocked for edit warring. I do not want to hear any excuses, "But that's the way it's supposed to be", or "He's edit warring, I'm not" - I don't want to read anything like that, so don't bother. Either of you change it again and you will be blocked. That's it. End of. Meanwhile, consider WP:MEDIATION, seeing as this has gone on for long enough. I will post this on both of your talk pages. Thanks. ScarianCall me Pat! 18:07, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

That's fine with me. I wanted it to be discussed but I think Lykantrop was a bit eager and kept jumping the gun and creating the article again and again. I wanted it to be completely discussed before anything was done. I'm not blaming him or anything, I just wish more people would contribute to the conversation over at Talk:Metalcore so it can be resolved. Don't be sorry, though. It's fine. I'm glad someone stepped in. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 18:15, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

endowment

I saw that and laughed for five minutes. I see that the IP is in eastern Canada - my best friend, an economist & prof, once did a funny edit a year ago, and he lives in the east...hmmmm. I'll have to write to him! It is funny because it is so randomly ridiculous... A Sniper (talk) 19:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Shadows Fall

Hmmm. I have heard them referred to as 'modern thrash', and I would tend to agree. Their older stuff was less melodic and more death metal (for example Somber Angel, other than the lame singing part in the middle) - then they started to have bigger, melodic choruses. What makes it so thrashy, to me anyway, is the drumming style. An example would be A Fire in Babylon, which despite some deathy vocals in places, meanders within thrash territory with the riffs, changes, etc., not to mention the newer very thrashy Redemption, again other than the melodic, emo-ish chorus. Anyway, what do I know! But hey: I definitely now agree with you about line breaks vs. commas - I had a chance to look all of that shit over and commas look awful. Hope you're well... A Sniper (talk) 20:26, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

In the interests of balance, might I suggest that you ask the Wikipedia Heavy Metal Project for their opinion(s)? Because, looking through your contribs, you've requested the assistance of people whom I would consider to be on good terms with you. This could be interpreted as ever so slightly biased, wouldn't you agree? Just drop the guys a line down there asking them for their input. Then you'll get a far greater, balanced and fair cosensus building discussion. Take care! ScarianCall me Pat! 21:25, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I don't give two fucks about Shadows Fall anymore, though I did use to kinda like them. But I put my own two cents on the talk page just cuz you sounded like you needed an issue handled.

Some of the bands that I REALLY like, however, include Slayer, Pantera, Children of Bodom, old Sepultura/Cavalera Conspiracy, Megadeth, Dying Fetus, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Skeletonwitch, Napalm Death, Cynic, Death, Atheist, Black Sabbath, Dio, Led Zeppelin, and Iced Earth. Wave the metal flag with pride, Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 22:29, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I tend to agree with A Sniper that they're modern 'American' thrash with drum and guitar work although with hardcore (metalcore) vocals mixed with "thrash shouts". I also agree with Festering Rat Corpse on Shadows Fall's talk page that their first album IS melodic death metal and it will take some listening to change your mind on that. If looks have anything to do with it they also don't look exactly like the metalcore type either frankly... they look more thrash-looking with the long hair so... here's the link. I also kinda liked them too but theres of course greater stuff out there to listen to... −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 23:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Something you all need to remember is that, at the moment, your just using your opinions. You're not backing them up with RS'. ScarianCall me Pat! 09:40, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Cynic

Yeah, I was wanting to put on the page how they've gotten a new member. It's on the talk page, so if you haven't read it yet, there's a link to click and the website talks all about it. Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 22:31, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

re:Hello!

I really don't know much about them, but i will try to find sources that define their genre. Exams on, will get back to work in about 3 days. By then, I hope this place stays up! Cheers, Weltanschaunng 13:16, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

It's a long story. But he was very ride to me. Just put it that way. Part of it was my fault though. i'm writing an apology letter to him. TragicSerenades (talk) 01:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Bud

"I do not hesitate to report people who vandalize pages or write stupid bullshit."

Next time you wanna add metalcore to machine head's page....think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PEiP (talkcontribs) 17:09, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I did and they're metalcore. I'll source it. I'm not even gonna take the time to respond on your talk page. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 17:51, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually my response to that should have been, "How's that bullshit? The band's metalcore and anyone who thinks otherwise must be retarded." Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 17:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, and I'm not your "bud". Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 18:12, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Be my guest. You honestly have to be brain-dead to think there's any metalcore in machine head. You probably think A Headbanger's Journey is the bible of heavy metal. I don't need to know the ins and outs of the wikipedia guidelines to know that you're full of shit. You didn't even bother coming up with a unreliable source. PEiP (talk) 19:36, 12 May 2008 (UTC) (HAPPY?)

Oh, come on, you really think there's hardcore elements in their music? I can live with the fact that they sold out and become nu-metal posers, but they aren't metalcore. Their good material is groove metal. There's some thrash in Rob's playing, but it's groove. There's no breakdowns. No melodeath elements. The vocals are pure groove/thrash. The guitar is. Everything is. PEiP (talk) 20:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Generally, but there is WP:CON. You didn't add a source for metalcore, or if you did, it wasn't on the version I saw. The only source I could thing of who would have something like that is allmusic guide, and everyone knows how retarded they are. "The band's metalcore and anyone who thinks otherwise must be retarded." is just as much in violation of WP:CIVIL as I am. I really don't think either of us care. PEiP (talk) 20:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't see how groove metal isn't real metal, but I'm also a fan of real metal. I also enjoy hardcore, metalcore, rock, indie, hip hop, and other genres. Listening to metalcore doesn't limit me as a metal fan. Devin Townsend told me that he liked the way I fit in my Lamb of God shirt. True story. PEiP (talk) 20:41, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

According to the analysis of my last.fm charts (it's dependant on how people tag stuff, so there's a bit of an opening for error) I listen to Melodeath, death metal, metal (real specific...), metalcore, hardcore, progressive metal, folk metal, thrash metal, doom metal, heavy metal, black metal, power metal, post-hardcore, viking metal and progressive rock, in ascending order. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PEiP (talkcontribs) 21:03, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

German wikipedia

So, would you believe that the German wikipedia has a true metal and black folk metal and pagan metal article? Well, they do. It's funny to look at the other wikipedia and see how much they vary from ours. Their rules are even different. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 18:29, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Heavy metal fashion. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. Stop now, or you will be reported! What don't you get. I left a bunch of comments and warnings on your page, already. Stop edit warring! I'm deleting OR! Why do you think the other person who warned me apologized and struck out their warning? Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:14, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

The content of your user page appears threatening and contains much profanity, and thus I am thus hesitatnt to enter a conversation with you (and I believe the editor who withdrew his/her comment may have done so for similar reason). Your massive blanking, however, is clearly unhelpful to our project. We must be thoughtful in all edits we make, and the massive blanking of basic information about heavy metal fashion and fans does not enhance these articles for our users. Badagnani (talk) 19:40, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

And you must be joking. My user page is not the issue here and is of little importance. It contains a minor amount of profanity. The reason the editor apologized with me is because I explained the situation to them on their talk page. Give me a break? You think people are scared of me? Oh no, he might threaten you...over the internet. The user struck out their comment because they saw I was only deleting original research. And let's cut the crap. Now you're trying to talk to me all respectable (which if fine) but it's a bit late. I'm not the "bad" person here. You violated WP:3RR. I could have reported you to WP:AN/3 which would have assured a block. However, I reported you to an admin (you may still be blocked, though). I did not "massively blank" anything. I deleted original research, pure and simple. You are also in violation of WP:POV. You think that its, "basic information about heavy metal fashion and fans," but that's your opinion. My opinion happens to be that those pages are full of wrong information. I've been slowly deleting things out of them for months. Now I don't think you're a bad editor (you have a ton of edits under your belt and that has to count for something) but I'm asking you to please revert yourself on those pages. I will retract my report to the admin if you do so. Those pages need to comprehesnively be rewritten with reliable sources. All that junk in there now is false or unverifiable. Don't let yourself be blocked. Revert yourself now on both of those pages. Other people (incl. yourself if you want) can work on it (using reliable sources) and rebuild it as a better article. Right now you're violating a few things, though. I would revert you (as I am in the right) but I won't violate WP:3RR. I would have to wait till at least tomorrow. But in the end I would win out anyways. So I guess you can do this the easy way and revert yourself and avoid troubel...or the hard way, in which you may be blocked and the article will be reverted to my version anyways. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:52, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I am very hesitant to enter a conversation with you due to the highly threatening nature of your user page. However, it is clear that there was sourced text included in the basic information you blanked. The blanking of sourced text does constitute improper conduct, and the massive blanking of basic information does not assist our users in learning more about these topics. We must be reasonable in everything we do (including our edits, edit summaries, and discussion page postings, avoiding the use of profanity, abusive language, and all capital letters, as you have done up to 12 or more times today), and keep our users foremost in our minds when editing. Badagnani (talk) 19:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Okay, then. Be blocked. I told you already, you are in violation of many wikipedia policies right now. I already said my user page does not matter and is of little importance to you. It is non-threatening and is intended to be humorous. But it's also my user page. I had to deleted the one or two sentences that were sourced because they were supporting arguments that were not sourced. Capital letters? Give me a break. Don't get "stuck-up" with me now. You don't seem to realize what you are saying. "blanking of basic information does not assist our users in learning more about these topics," goes directly against wikipedia policy. Per WP:V which you dearly need to read. Information must be verified and reliabely sourced. We cannot allow users to read misinformation. If that is your attitude then you should not be on wikipedia. We cannot allow users to view "basic information" if that info is not sourced and is OR. Not to mention perhaps false. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:07, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
