Infobox credits[edit]
Ok, we need to get something straight. Just because a field is available in a template does not mean it has to or should be used in any possible circumstance. To get the fields for individual people, particularly those for the producer and director, into {{Infobox VG}}, discussions on the talk page and at the WP:VG over the years determined that they should only be used for people who are notable independently of the game and have articles. I was the one responsible for getting the producer and director fields into the infobox, so I know the situation. That was the compromise between those who wanted these fields in and those who didn't. Those who didn't want it in felt that way for fear of exactly what you are doing: adding indiscriminate names without regard to that person's significance or importance to a game's development.
When you use the fields for designer, director, producer, writer, composer and artist, only use them if there is a corresponding article for these people and if there is proper commentary on their roles in producing the game. Simply throwing out names with no context beyond job title or further information is worthless to the reader, and our articles are not there to act as credits lists. Your insistence at ignoring the template documentation on these fields may end up spurring the ultimate removal of them from the infobox by others in WP:VG, as they are controversial and were only added in the first place with the agreement on restriction of use, and that's something I'd very much like to avoid. -- Sabre (talk) 01:32, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Nintendo Software Planning and Development a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Question on your edits of 21 April 2010[edit]
Hi, I was interested to see the edit you made in relation to the Satellaview subsystem. It's not very well-known to English-speaking fans and I was surprised by your ability to dig up so many names for the Personnel Lead column. Out of curiosity, where did you find this information?
I was also wondering what your criteria was for which 4 leads to include. I noticed for instance that with BS The Legend of Zelda you listed the director (Takao Shimizu), the SoundLink coordinator (Tatsuya Hishida), one of the designers (Hisashi Nogami), and one of the sound personnel (Akito Nakatsuka) as the Lead Personnel. But then in the commented out portion of the table you say "Please put no max than 4 lead designers on the Personnel Box. It is enough and would otherwise ruin template." If you're interested in designers, should you put Tetsuka Takashi and Shigeru Miyamoto in there and cut out some of the people who only worked on sound aspects? I'm not saying that we should definitely change it I'm just wondering how you came up with those 4 people out of the list of all those that worked on the game.

To summarize my response, I was wondering if you could provide me a link to the nintendo staff data project at n-sider.com. I am familiar with the full credits of some of these games and several people listed as Lead Personnel here do not actually appear in the credits for the games. Do you know where in the games these names can be found? I also made a few specific suggestions for changes about who seemed to me to be essential "Lead Personnel" and who seemed to be just support staff. What do you think about my suggestions? - Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I have started affixing "citation needed" tags to the material you have added that cannot be corroborated by the credits in the games. Please keep in mind that these tags do not mean that this material is disputed, but just that in order to ensure the greatest possible accuracy we need to make sure that data like this is credited to some kind of source. The presumption at Wikipedia, for better or worse, is that unsourced (and thus unverifiable) material may as well have just been created fictitiously and such facts are subject to immediate removal. By adding "citation needed" tags my hope is that other users who may be familiar with the source of this information will step forward to supply it for the article and then the material will become verifiable.
- If you know of any sources that could corroborate some of the information you'd added - such as the claim that Yoshinori Tsuchiyama, Tatsuya Hishida, and Keiko Izawa (
none of whom appear in BS Zelda: Inishie no Sekiban's credits) had been involved with Inishie no Sekiban, for instance - then please let me know if I can help you to create proper citations for these facts. Hi there. You've made a lot of great contributions and I just have two things to clarify. First, it'd be super great if you could actually cite your edits. Everyone sure would like to know where you get your great information, as is generally required (WP:RS WP:V) of an encyclopedia. Or else we get phenomena like WP:FANCRUFT and WP:NOTDIR, and we get disagreements over obscure or unverifiable trivia. An edit description of generally how you got it doesn't mean anything at all, especially when you do in fact know exactly where you got it. Please don't hesitate to ask for help on formatting citations. That'd consist of a <ref name="64Dream #43">{{cite journal | magazine= | author= | date= | page= | publisher= | volume= | issue=}}</ref> for a magazine or <ref name="Super Mario Galaxy credits">{{cite video game | title= | publisher=}}</ref> if it's only listed in the credits or something. Or even Template:Cite_speech for a presentation. If you could just review your contribution history and stick those in there, that'd be great. Secondly, I'm just really curious as to what your username means, and why it seems to have the name of an organization that we all edit so much about (Nintendo of America). Because that's discussed in Wikipedia's username policy. I can't imagine that any Nintendo employee would be editing Wikipedia, let alone in such internal detail, but I just have to ask.
