RE:Bull of Heaven

Whether I mention the author of the article or not is immaterial. Reverting the genre list to "experimental" when many of the references in the article mention that they make classical, jazz, and rock music is childish. At best it is petty... at worst it is vandalism. No other band requires citations to support the genres in their list. It's that simple. Lagopodous (talk) 18:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

SF Media at Apex Predator – Easy Meat

About Genres

Nice job on citing genres at various music articles, like you recently did at the Manic Street Preachers album articles. I was actually going to message you before, but I saw you were on break. Anyway, you seem to be pretty good at finding genre sources. It makes me wish that more users would take the time cite genres, rather than removing genres that are unsourced or just arbitrarily messing around with the genres. I also try to cite genres at music articles myself.

Thank you! Well, I mostly look up for the album reviews and related publications cited on the article for any descriptions for the genres. Also, googling the album/artist with these keywords (such as "rock, pop, punk, electronic, metal, rap," etc.) may be helpful and is likely to yield results. Oh, that's basically what I do as well. I just wanted to know if you did anything different from my method. But still, its sometimes hard to find genre sources for albums and especially songs. There's been times where I searched, only for nothing to come up. Lately, I've been expanding to edit on some more music articles, so you might see me sometime at some music articles you edit. This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.

Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.

While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.

Genres again

Remember, before citing genres in infoboxes, always be sure to check the prose first. This edit removed a genre (alternative rock), which was cited in the prose, as were electronic rock and rap rock. Also, per WP:INFOBOXREF, sources should generally not be in the infobox if the material is already cited in the prose. Think of this as a heads up.

But otherwise, nice job on citing genres at various music articles.

The sources for genres (or the album in general) are not simply limited to album reviews: it can be any article from a third-party reliable source (to be precise, from a notable publishing.) Besides the one you've found, I've found these two articles from Irish Times and The Telegraph. They call the record pop rock and soft rock, respectively. Hi. I see that you've reverted (with no summary’s really explaining why) my recent edits to Jane's Addiction album pages. To state on every one that they had a live album before their debut is pretty trivial and repetitive. Also, in regards to your restoring alternative metal to Ritual de lo habitual; how many sub-genre's are we gonna have??? Hi. Reflist|2 is deprecated per Template:Reflist#Columns. I usually just use {{Reflist|30em}} instead. Thanks. And perhaps you could look at Help:Referencing for beginners so you are not leaving bare references? It would be great. There's also a tool that converts them to full references. Hello, I normally use the Provelt tool to fill in references as seen in my previous edits; however, Wikipedia is currently banned in my country. In my last few edits, I was able to use a proxy server but due to the proxy I was using, I was not able to access any of those tools: that's why I left the references as bare URLs, to fix them later. Nonetheless, I am currently unable to edit Wikipedia altogether to fix the URLs since all of the secured proxies are banned.
