A barnstar for you![edit]

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For your work on 2021 storming of the United States Capitol - I've been dipping in and out of it over the past couple of days, and it reminded me of why I hate editing current events articles so much. I have massive respect for anyone who has the patience to keep at it the way you have. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 20:12, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shootings in Capitol protest[edit]

There were shootings during the protest per Mayor Bowser's statement. Unless there is proof she's for some reason lying, it needs to be kept in the infobox. [1]. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 21:52, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LéKashmiriSocialiste: can you show me the quote in the source that says that rioters were shooting in the Capitol. I can only find a reference to the police-related shooting, which wouldn't constitute a method used by the rioters to maintain Trump's presidency. When shooting was removed from the infobox before, it was because the added sources did not support these claims. All the best! Mt.FijiBoiz (talk) 22:07, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@LéKashmiriSocialiste: Is this what you were referring to - "They have fired chemical irritants, bricks, bottles, and guns"?
Of course. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 22:15, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I completely missed that. I'll re-add it to the article with the source and quote. All the best! Mt.FijiBoiz (talk) 22:19, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also my earlier sources did mention the exact quote about the mayor saying that guns were fired by the rioters. I used this source [2] earlier where Bowser is stated saying it at CBS' live update post at 10:41 PM. Also the fact that people were arrested with hidden guns leaves little doubt about her statements being genuine. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 22:20, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The sources for when shootings were first added did not included the quote (I believe). Though, it seems your later edits did. Sorry for any confusion or errors on my part. Mt.FijiBoiz (talk) 22:23, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It did. I read it many times before adding the shootings part. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 22:26, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:New Year's Evil requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Firestar464 (talk) 06:15, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Firestar464. I noticed that you recently removed content from Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Copyright problem on Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan[edit]

I see you copied some content from Taliban conscription to the above article. Unfortunately the text you copied was a copyright violation that had been present in the article since 2008. I have removed the violation from both pages.

Also, when copying from one Wikipedia article to another, you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of our license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying within Wikipedia in the future. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sourcing citations[edit]

Please be aware of Wikipedia's guidelines when citing citations, as you broke some when editing the Workers Party of Britain page. Some of your citations were opinion pieces, which can be seen as they are labelled as "comment" pieces in the respective articles. In other cases you broke WP:SYNTH by using the citations to support a claim the citations themselves did not explicitly state. Hope this helpful and thanks for your time.
