I see that you have run afoul of the Wikipedia policy of "No original research" WP:NOR. Sadly, it does state "Unsourced material obtained from a Wikipedian's personal experience, such as an unpublished eyewitness account, should not be added to articles." from Wikipedia:PRIMARY#Primary.2C_secondary_and_tertiary_sources. And also WP:SELFCITING "... does prohibit them from drawing on their personal knowledge without citing reliable sources."

While I personally think that there are many instances in which personal knowledge or eyewitness accounts would be helpful to improve Wikipedia content, especially when it is information which will most likely never be published anywhere else, the masses have decreed otherwise. Well, Shit

I worked for 3 years on the FCSRMV, and my personal recollections are not enough, but if someone else posted in their blog, that would be OK.

The obvious solution is to create an "Engineer Tuttle," sock-puppet a phony blog, and cite that, but I tend to think that the mature solution is not to draw on personal knowledge to contribute to articles, which means that I should make a major effort to be completely ignorant about what I edit....Which would mean that I could be a political consultant.

I understand the requirement on contentious issues, but the Andropov Story, and the development of the auto-loader on the M8 AGS are not at all contentious.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Msaroff (talk • contribs)

lol - Using blogs as a source probably won't fly as it has to be a source one would use on say a college paper, like from CNN.com or WSJ.com, etc, but I like how you think. Out of luck on the Andropov story, but there may be a website out there that has info on the M8 design. WP has had several instances of editors posing as real life experts, see Essjay controversy for one, and having it come back to bite them. Yes, I understand your view, but it's happened a number of times now, and all the IP's track back to Phoenix.

Obviously, my assertion would not be acceptable for a wiki post, but IMHO the edit summary is somewhat more lax in its standard.
