Dear Cuppysfriend, I got most of my information from the archives. I was fascinated by the story of IVS and found the history of their involvement in Vietnam especially interesting. Were you involved with the program? If not, what sparked your interest in the organization? I was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa, but I know several people who were with IVS. I started the Wikipedia article as a sort of spin-off of the article I wrote on Alexander D. Shimkin who was a classmate of mine at Indiana University Bloomington. I was hoping that maybe you could find Alex's IVS application and upload a scan of his signature to Wikimedia Commons for display in his page's infobox. -- Cuppysfriend (talk) 16:19, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I spoke with the archivist and found out that IVS applications were not retained. If the archives has a letter from him (many reports from the field came in the form of letters), his signature might be available. But that would take a lot of digging and a lot of time to find.... Link to Congo disambiguation page[edit]

When you edited the The Pax Program article, you added a link to Congo, which is a disambiguation page rather than an article. If you know from the source material whether it's referring to the Republic of the Congo or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, could you please edit your link to point to the appropriate page? Most common usage referring to the country simply as "Congo" is about Republic of the Congo, not the DRC, but I didn't want to assume that in this case since you're probably more familiar with the topic. Thanks LarryJeff, the source I was using only said Congo, and I didn't even think about the distinction. I changed it to the DRC, since the river mentioned is located there, as well as the town of Stanleyville, which the source mentioned. Hello, Keithbob. I have removed your proposed deletion notice because George Jay Lapp was an important person in American and Indian Mennonite history. The Mennonites are a relatively small religious denomination. It does not surprise me that you could not find works by Lapp in Google Books because Mennonite works tend to be held by small Mennonite organizations rather than major research libraries that participate in mass digitization projects. I have added some citations to his works and mentioned other roles he played in the old Mennonite Church. I hope that these changes improve the article sufficiently. Thank you -- MrsSimons
