Thanks, man. This encyclopedia is cool. I am happy to contribute a little. Tragic Baboon 04:29, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

I prodded the article once, and it was removed by the author, as he has done with your prod. When I asked for a source, he vandalized my user page. I think it needs to go to AfD unless you think it fits speedy criteria. Leebo86 03:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I too wish it was possible to speedy such ridiculous claims, but I suppose the inherent restrictions make that tricky. I can easily see that he's not a famous rapper from D.C., but what about hoaxes where the notability isn't so easy to shoot down? I guess as long as a claim to notability is made (even if it's ridiculous) it has to be deleted through other means. Hopefully it means that some legitimate articles get a better chance too, though. Edit Summary Mark-Up

Thanks for the welcome. I have a question that I hope you can direct me. I've read every help page that seemed relevant without finding it. I understand what to put in the edit summary box in general. But I've noticed on some page (for ex. I was on a particular Article for Deletion page and when I checked the history to see how others noted their entries, I found a large number were written with an Arrow that links to the article for deletion entry followed by a link to the main article. I how to do this manually with links (like this: Orthodox_Messianic_Jews) but since it seemed so common, I wondered I am just missing some shortcut (like the 4 tildes for a signature) to do this as well. Thanks so much! JerseyRabbi 06:58, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for posting the answer on my talk page. It makes complete sense and I am using the system the way you described right now. Much obliged. JerseyRabbi 18:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey thanks

Hi Kubigula,

Thanks for the compliment. You can either tip your hat or tug your bow tie, one is just as good as the other (neither of which I happen to own, by the way). After my long campaign, the discussion was just closed as having "no consensus" and I'm hoping that the article is now pretty safe. Thanks again. Noroton 19:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

The fact that you are editing that is kind of odd. The odds of someone besides an editing cop searching it daily are about 1,000,000 to 1. Sorry

I'm sorry I did that, but it was for 2 reasons. One I was just angry at the game and two, I was curious how long a vandalzied page would take to be changed back into a proper article.

Again, sorry.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.110.120.72 (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2007(UTC)

Just goes to show that Wikipedia is NOT a haven for vandalism. Even the most low-key articles are guarded fiercely.

At least it wasen't just a blanked page or a random string of profanity eh? ;)

Small issue

OK I've sorted it witrh a slight re-word, Ok it's cheating I know, but it gets round the problem in the short term. You might want to ask Lucas, he's on the vandalproof IRC channel at the mo, I know virtually zero about wiki programming, but it sorted anyhoo. Cheers Khukri - 19:28, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. I won't apply again for another year. And no, I do not mess around on wikipedia.

Problems Editing

Hello,

You may remember me, Ryan Keyes. You welcomed me to Wikipedia. Now I have a problem editing, and I may need your help. Whenever I am logged in, I can't just click on the edit this page tab. I have to click the + sign, or the edit tabs next to sections. But when I'm logged out, I can edit just fine. Do you know how to fix this problem? By the way, my logged out talk page is User talk:24.16.54.4 in case I can't edit my talk page. either one works.

my article on west hills was factual but deleted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i put factual evidence about a band director molesting and having sexual affairs with students in 2006. BUt i then got a message saying "it may be funny but dont put fake things on site". It was all over the news.... west hills high school had several cases of sexual misconduct last year!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by THEnick7 (talkcontribs) 16:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC).

Hi. I will sadly have to un-disambiguate your link change to Masaryk unless you have added info. In the comics, as far as I know, there was no clear description as to which Masaryk was meant. I intentionally left the link as it was. MadMaxDog 05:56, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: your response on my page (don't you wish there was a better way to do these conversations?) - do you know if it is explained in the book? To be honest, I do not even know if it is contained in the book at all, and I don't have it here.
Also, do you have any info on whether the sequel comic series has been translated into English? I have the French version, but I am somewhat hesitant to do an article about a series that has never been translated. MadMaxDog 05:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Though your repeated reverts may be controversial to some people, I think they were the correct action because the IP kept reinserting a copyvio and was really insulting. The IP did suggest that you rewrite the information in your own words, but I think that it is the job of the person adding the information to rewrite it. Let me know if problems continue on this article. Academic Challenger 04:57, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Let me just add if you remove the copyvio paragraph, there is NO way for the person who wrote it to have a chance to rewrite it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.214.156.77 (talk) 05:27, 20 March 2007 (UTC).

Jamestown proposal to improve

There have been many comments the Jamestown, Virginia article being just too big. After giving it a lot of thought, I think we could break out a major part of it into a sub-article, perhaps entitled "History of Jamestown Settlement", essentially covering the 17th century period, ending when the capital moved to Williamsburg. As a WP admininsitrator, I have the tools to do this and preserve the talk page and history, etc., but I surely do not want to move on it unilaterally. This is an important piece of WikiProject Virginia. Can we have some comments about this approach, please?

Actually, I didn't remove it because of the RfA oppose vote; that just reminded me that I had read something bad about them (can't remember what though). What you say makes sense though... All Due Respect

Actually, I find it quite condescending that you actively delete and vadalize (under the guise of "assisting articles") my articles. If you would like to assist me and my work, why don't you add to my articles, and not take away from them. Especially after deleting pictures that I took myself. The consequences of your actions only detract people from wanting to write good articles for Wikipedia. I hope you realize where I am coming from. I know that in our society their are millions of "laws and jargons" out there, however you should take it upon yourself to improve wikipedia by adding more information than by deleting perfectely legal and educational articles. Have a good day. And feel free to call me at 276-971-2097 if you want to take it up with me.--Ramcgl 18:34, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

WPVa Newsletter

Hi there Kubigula,

What you have started looks pretty good. I tried creating a draft, myself, but it seemed to turn into one big plea and chastisement to get some work done. All I'd add to what you've got is perhaps a reference to selecting an article for group work on. Heck, if you want, you could probably choose one of our Va articles that should be at least a "good article" level and throw that in as a suggested cooperative fixer upper. Thanks for the interest and the work! ~ (The Rebel At) ~ 22:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the good work at Notability

Awesome work. I hope the edits hold, because the work's quite good, and I found it very neat how much buy-in you got. I didn't participate much because I've been focusing on IAR and DRv, but I've been watching. Keep up the good work! --MalcolmGin Talk / Conts 03:22, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll get used to that dynamic. Tends to drive me crazy when folks with apparently a low level of involvement in the entire process step in at the 11th hour and implement changes individually without doing all the talking out the rest of everyone's been putting a lot of time into. Even being familiar with WP:BRD, it just strikes me wrong. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it. --MalcolmGin Talk / Conts 04:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
You asked about my current thoughts on N--I posted something there a few minutes ago. Personally, I like to chime in after the early starters have both clarified things, and, generally, arrived at an impasse. (smile) . DGG 03:49, 21 May 2007 (UTC) And yes, quite a few proposals that might have been workable have failed when the discussion started involving the general community of WP people who don't usually discuss policy. Everyone will start thinking of what it means to their pet subjects. That's the real issues, and I've been staying clear because I think there isn't the least overall consensus. DGG 04:19, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Ohm (this title is a resistance joke)

Could you have asked in a nicer way! Okay. I simply don't feel like waging a campaign over this guideline, and I think it's pretty clear that, at least with respect to those who are actively involved with that page, the changes they have made have a lot of agreement. They are highly motivated editors but I don't think their changes necessarily reflect at all the reality on the ground. That most of them are operating in good faith I have little doubt, but I nevertheless think this is a walled garden of "talk page consensus."

First, I think it's an absolute mistake to take out "multiple." Are there exceptions where multiple might not fit? Maybe (and it better be one damn bedrock-reliable source), but that's where common sense should come into play. Multiple goes a long way in ensuring that verification is independent and yes, it's technically redundant with sources, but that doesn't mean its exclusion doesn't have a vast effect on interpretation. Test: try to think of a topic that you think is notable that has only one source. Not easy huh? Let me add to that test. Try to think of a topic that has only one source but there is enough information upon which to write more than two cited paragraphs—something that has the possibility of ever being more than a stub in the absence of future publication of more reliable material (source crystalballery, if you will).

Next: Explanation. I can't tell you how much I disagree with the notion that people can't read, and therefore ever guideline must be bare bones so we don't befuddle the great unwashed. Actually most people can't parse, but that's not an argument for making the page a skeleton and screaming "bloat" and "instruction creep" at every attempt to provide clarity and elaboration (I'm not necessarily referring to just this page). Of course there's a balance to be struck, but guideline pages should provide examples, explanation, a rationale... People who are unwilling to read a bit more are the same people who aren't going to be helped by extreme terseness, while a bit of explanation will do wonders. Only a very, very small number of people who would be enlightened by a bit of guideance in the guideline will delve into the archives to wade through miles of shit for an answer (and why should they have to?). Uncle G's essay provides a lot of useful explanation where the current guideline explains little. I could go on about some of the changes but I think I'll leave it there.--Fuhghettaboutit 03:02, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: VA Stations

Hello...I felt that most of the stations were fairly well written, but could use some work in some areas, history wise..but didn't require a "Start" or "Stub" class tag. I though "B" was as low as most of the articles could go. Then I just copy/pasted it to all of them. If you or anyone else feel that some radio/TV articles are a "Start" or a "Stub", or even an "A" or a "GA", then by all means switch them. I just went to the lowest possible rating that I felt the articles fell under. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 21:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

One of the TV stations, especially WAVY, WHSV, or WTVR, would be great candidates for "GA". They are very well written articles (only WHSV is partially written by me) with tons of researched information and secondary sources, if I am not mistaken...if not, there could be with a quick Google search. With WTVR being the South's (and Virginia's) first television station, I think that one would be a great start, but in terms of history, length, etc. WHSV would be my first choice. Take care...NeutralHomer T:C 04:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Kilt variants article deletion

I was unaware of the deletion debate in re the kilt variants article until it was over. As for your own comment that it appeared to be a fork of the kilt article: the kilt variants article was created before the present content of the kilts article on the Scottish kilt was included in that latter article. At the time, the kilt article was being commandered by a troll and editing thereto was not possible. I wrote the variants article and also, after the troll was gone, patched the now duplicate content to the kilt article, and this is why there was very little in the kilt variants article to be merged with kilt (it had already been done - by myself).

As for the variants article, it addressed a number of common questions which constantly recur at Highland Games gatherings, though in view o the duplication (after the merger which I performed), it should probably have been re-worked.

I found the debate to be at least mildly offensive and insulting, fueled by ignorance of the history of the articles. More problematical is that fact that the variants article has been reprinted (and not just by robots) and now that the edit history is unavailable, I believe that my GFDL rights as author are violated since the GFDL requires credit and a reference to WP no longer leads to the edit history. I will likely be writing to Wales and FSF about this GFDL violation.

Those who voted for delete were probably not aware of the reprinting on highly reputable Scots heritage sites and its favorable review by multiple independent posters on another site.

Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
  1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
  2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
  3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
  4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
  5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
  6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Insights and advice? Sure!
Insight #1: they are out to get you, so ...
Advice #1: never give anyone any advice about adminship. Oh, wait ...
Self-contradiction and paranoia aside, I doubt there's anything I could say that you don't probably already know. So, I'll just tell something that I didn't discover until after becoming an admin. Here it is: clearing the CSD backlog can be really boring; after a few dozen spam and nonsense pages, speedy deletion loses its novelty. ;-) To generalise that a bit more ... there's a lot of things admins can do, so either do something that you like or do a little of everything so that there's always a bit of variety. Of course, a margarita would do just as well. Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 17:32, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Norwood Cycling Club

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Norwood Cycling Club, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Hello, I see in this edit, you reinstated a warning I had left a user and then removed because I realised I was mistaken. Maybe in cases like this if you believe my warning was correct, but you see I deleted it, you could add it back in but with your own signature please, as it only causes the user to become unnecessarily aggravated. Thanks for the welcome & I will look into the intropage. The template was sent to an IP talk page, which I can't get back to now that I've registered. It wasn't anything concrete, just a sense of how the wording played. If it helps, it was sent between 8-31 & today. Not a big deal, if you can't easily access it. Yuri Landman

Hello Kubigula, I agree on the COI-problems, I know about it. Currently I don't add any info anymore on these topics, only reliable refs and sources.

You forgot to watch at the sources (not the refs). All sources are reliable. (Lambiek.net, oddmusic.com, modernguitars.com, NPI) I will add info about those media-institutions like I already did with The Dutch Rock & Pop Institute to make the facts for other contributors clearer.

The topic Yuri Landman doesn't need a lot more additions, so I think this COI-problem will solve itself. Hopefully.

Best wishes, YuriLandman 20:25, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Fred Thompson - semi- instead of full-protection?

I request and recommend that you change the protection to semi-protection instead of full. As best as I can tell, it is only anon editors who are trying to fight the consensus. All of the named editors are simply trying to revert to the consensus. I, for one, would enforce the consensus if it had come out the other way. The anon editors are acting in bad faith and all of the named editors are acting in good faith. Sbowers3 22:06, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

I think full-protection is overkill. Warring arose because anons were not respecting requests by registered editors to go to Talk. Semi-protection should be sufficient to manage this. --- Taroaldo 23:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

NIN revision

I just noticed that you reverted my revert of a deletion of content from the Nine Inch Nails article. It appears from your contribs and the article's history page that you're not usually a contributor to the article. That particular sentence gets deleted about once a month, and it usually gets reverted in a few minutes. For whatever reason I guess people just don't like it. If you check the sources attributed to the quote (two of them), they both clearly show that the quote is in fact correctm including the Fuck Fox Fucking News part. I'm not sure why you undid my revert, but I'd appreciate it if you took a look at the article and the sources and judge for yourself. I think what might be a good idea, since this is a reoccurring problem, is to add a comment of some sort to curb any further vandalism. Thanks! Drewcifer 22:32, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Also, the article is currently at FAC, so I'd like to keep it stable, you know? Drewcifer 22:34, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

re: junkygood

It wasn't in June...It was today. I just wrote it up. Immediately deleting without giving the person a chance to argue his case just doesn't seem fair. I do aplogize for writing that. But I felt attacked and acted impulsively. It's people on here like you that are bringing out the worst in me. This is why: It just seems to me that it's unfair that you are choosing to delete this when there's alot worse to me found here. I find that in itself to be a bit of a personal attack. I'm working hard to get these guys rightfully in here. You seem to just want to come along and wipe it out. It's subjective. If it was downright Un-notabile, then it would be different. But it's not. I plan to state more of my case so at least give me a chance to.HayashiantibushHayashiantibush 01:02, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Stephens City

Hey Dude, I was wondering if you could help me out. I did my best on rewriting the Stephens City history (some parts I couldn't write it better), but of course, I am running into problems already. The last time, I submitted permission from the Newtown Heritage Center to use the article, but according to Mufka, it was "not formatted properly" according to them. I was supposed to get something from ComComm about it, never did. Mufka said he would get an explanation, never did. Personally, I think it is alot of stonewalling and people not doing their jobs. Since this falls under WP:VA is there anyway you can help? If so, I would greatly appericate it. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 23:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey Dude, many thanks! I am glad that you and Goodshoped35110s were there to help cause I was just about to give up. Regarding this deletion

You deleted this article under G10, but I tagged it as G1. It just looked like patent nonsense to me. Sorry for the incorrect tagging.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. 03:31, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

An application of BIO

I got involved in Mitch Clem at AfD. Can you look at the references and let me know whether you think I'm right on his notability. He is not an important topic, but this illustrates an important application of the BIO and Notability rules. I think that the Minnesota Public Radio spot is just about enough, then the mention in PC World, while not in-depth clearly is saying this person is noticed. The other comixtalk source is marginal, but I think that it adds to credibilty. It appeares that Comixtalk has a blog section, but where he is covered is more akin to an online magazine in a scheduled and dated issue. Cheers! --Kevin Murray 15:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Wallowing in my RfA: This time it's personal...
My sincere thanks for your support in my request for adminship, which ended with 51 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutral. Doubtless it was an error to put one of the government-bred race of pigmen in any position of authority, but I hope your confidence in me proves justified. Even a man pure of heart and who says his prayers at night can become a were-boar when the moon is full and sweet. Fortunately, I'm neither a were-pig nor pure of heart so this doesn't appear to be an imminent danger to Wikipedia for the moment. Fortunate as well because were-pig hooves are hell on keyboards and none too dexterous with computer mice. If ever I should offend, act uncivil, misstep, overstep, annoy, violate policy, or attempt to topple the fascist leadership of Wikipedia, please let me know so I can improve my behaviour and/or my aim. I am not an animal; I am an admin. And, of course, if there is any way in which I can help you on Wikipedia, please do not hesitate to ask me. Despite my japes, I am indeed dedicated to protecting and serving Wikipedia to the best of my foppish and impudent abilities. I will strive to be an admirable admin, shiny and cool, reasonable and beatific. Pigmanwhat?/trail 05:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Post Scriptum: I believe my collaged graphic at left, which incorporates the WP globe and mop image, falls under the rubric of parody for my purposes here. Or is it satire? Regardless, it's a legitimate and legally protected First Amendment usage under US law. Complaints and allegations that this is an improper "fair use" image will be entertained on my talk page, probably with fruit juice, finger food and exotic coffees.

Is there a central area where I can comment about the individual notability of royalty where admins who deal with deletions can see it? Having a title does not always make a person notable, especially when an article is only a genealogical entry. Charles 04:18, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

My only reason for "lengthy" reasons is because I have always been told to be concise and thorough, which I actually struggled with for Frederica. There are only so many ways you can say someone is not notable. My rational for speedy is that there is no assertion of notability. Outside of the content of the article, "princess" is only a part of her name and does not lend to the notability of the individual for purposes of inclusion on Wikipedia. I have previously found the blank statement of "notable because of title" to be a sloppy precedent and genuinely wonder if it is a misunderstanding among both editors and administrators to declare people notable on the basis of a title that was not unique to them. In the case of a lengthy reason again, it serves to prove why these things shouldn't go to Afd, they close as delete. I am not annoyed at any admins, just the reasoning behind it. It seems to somehow become an unwritten policy. Charles 04:38, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean by elaborate. TobytheTramEngine 22:27, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I can't think of an answer. I'll let you know when I have one. TobytheTramEngine 22:31, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I have PRODed this page. Please see the talk page for details.
Toby's reason for requesting deletion was that the page had been 'rescued' (ie copied) to the Train Spotting World wiki, where notability requirements essentially do not apply. Therefore, as the content was now 'safe', there was no reason for the page to remain here.
EdJogg 00:54, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying. It was close enough to be a recreation of the previously deleted article that I went ahead and deleted it under WP:CSD#G4. It's unfortunate when the Wikipedia process is tough on our younger editors, so I commend you in the way you dealt with this.--Kubigula (talk) 04:25, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Missouri Collegiate Mathematics Competition

Kubigula, I noticed that you deleted an article I worked on but did *not* create: Missouri Collegiate Mathematics Competition. I have to disagree that the competition is not notable just because it does not appear to be covered in another source like a newspaper. I have noticed thousands of articles on Wikipedia about sports competitions between colleges. I suppose one can point to the sports section of a newspaper to justify some of those articles. However, just because it may be *****profitable***** for another source to provide coverage on a football game between 2 schools and not provide coverage on a mathematics competition between dozens of schools, does not seem to be a fair reason to say that the mathematics competition is not notable! Please reconsider this deletion. I do hope we can set a precedent here. It's easy to pick on articles like this one that do not have many similar articles as, say, an article about a trophy for a college football rivalry does. Still, sheer numbers do not always determine what is notable for some people. Thank you! Synesthetic 09:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Kubigula. There was a source listed for the article in the discussion. Someone said it wasn't independent because it was a newspaper of one of the schools that had a team in the competition. If that logic were to apply across the board, you could argue that a city's newspaper is not an independent source for an article on that city's baseball team. Sounds silly. I see a ton of articles that don't have references but they don't get deleted. Please see if we can restore the article with the source that was found or at least mark it as needing more references instead of simply deleting it. Thank you! Synesthetic 05:26, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Kubigula. Thanks for your response. I will look for another good source. Synesthetic (talk) 01:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Prema Sai Baba

Prema Sai Baba is an idea stated by one man, that someone will be born someday. The article is tagged as a WPBiography but contains no details of any actions of a person alive or deceased or even fictional. It is also tagged in the scope of Hindu Mythology but this is comparable to saying the future child of Tammy Faye Baker is to be a part of the Holy Trinity and quailfies as Christian Mythology. I think the admins are dead wrong on this one and choosing to placate the Sai Baba faction with another entry. This article is the espousal of one man's doctrine at best and in that sense is originally flawed as an encyclopedic article. You might as well post an article on every person that holds a streetcorner sign that reads "The End is Near". Now let's see if I can get that article 'The Moon is made of Green Cheese' accepted to Wiki. ---Iconoclast Horizon 14:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Jesus the 2nd

I personally don't have an opinion about the Prema Sai Baba Issue, I just didn't know wiki cited predictions of people as biographically mertiable. I understand that I didn't get the procedure right for deletion, then apparently didn't get it right again before someone swiftly deleted the tag. Instead, I think I am just going to write a biography article entitled Jesus the 2nd, since I can quote thousands of people that say he is to be born and cite lot's of references to the same effect. But I am sure that would get a speedy deletion tag in about 30 seconds.---Iconoclast Horizon 17:07, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

My article about San Base has been deleted. Why???

I got this massage "San base is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article."

Could you explain me where is a "blatant advertising" in this text:

San Base (born 1956)

San Base is a contemporary Canadian artist, born in Russia. He has pioneered the Dynamic Painting technology - a painting presentation method that breathes a life into previously static images. Using the latest in computer technology, a still picture is transformed into a never-ending show that adds a whole new dimension to traditional Art. Images replacing each other hour by hour, day by day, month by month. None of the images repeat previous ones and will never repeat again. The picture living its own life with objects moving and transforming but still following the original artist's concept.

San Base lives and works in Toronto

External links:

  • [2] San Base official website
  • [3] Computer Graphics Avant-Garde
  • [4] Self-shifting digital paintings

As you can see - News.com, Toms Hardware, Globo.com and Der Spiegel published articles about this artist. Why it has been rejected by wikipewia? I do not see a logic.

Stephens City

Got a question for ya. Is there anything I can do to improve on the Stephens City page? I know I could do a school section...but other than that (being the town is small), I am not sure what else to do. Getting Virginia to FA

I would agree that the prose is a bit shifty. I doesn't read like a concise work. "The flow" is awkward, and I know I haven't helped by cutting and pasting sentences around a lot. A featured article needs to be really pleasant to read while also being informative. The FA process is a bit of a crapshoot, it really depends on how some of the editors are feeling that day, and the final decision really rests with what Raul654 thinks.

Among the issues with the prose, I worry that there are too many peacock terms, that that page is trying to prove that Virginia is amazing. This is understandable (it is!) but it won't fly with FA reviewers. They want criticism, and a healthy dose of it. Particularly contemporary criticism, not just historic. So maybe add issues with urban sprawl, with having some of the worst traffic and air quality in the nation, bad mining practices in the mountains, school districts being left behind by the state, etc.

There still are sections that look thin on references, and absolutely nothing says featured like a long references section. Even things you wouldn't necessarily think to cite, especially if you see a page or book on the subject, should get cited. Assertions are bound to be challenged, and some might need more than one citation, like that Virginia is becoming politically competitive, or that the Federal Government is the basis of the NoVA economy, or that Virginia's 1971 constitution gave it a more streamlined government. There also isn't a Media section, nor Health, which the FA Minnesota has. I've been basing many of my changes off of that article.

The first thing we should do is seek a Peer Review. I was a bit disappointed that the GA reviewer didn't give a play by play of problems they saw, and that is what I find most helpful in improving the article. We might also put in a request with the League of Copy Editors, but they can take many months to get around to articles. All in all it's not far off. And thanks again for the barnstar!--Patrick Ѻ 23:44, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Removal

So, my paragraphs keep getting removed because I don't have a reliable source to back up the facts?

uh, how do you source an adult video I saw on Limewire? Do I need to find it again, take a screenie, and post that as the source?

I've done a couple of Google searches, and can't find any links or mention of this video. The only verifible evidence is the video itself, but I'm really not sure how to use that as a reliable source.

(That's why I was writing my paragraph in the 'Rumored' section of the Celebrity Sex Tape article, because I can't find any real proof except the video.)

Any good way to solve this problem? ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.211.156.35 (talk) 19:22, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Stephens City Revisited

Most of the references on there are from the Newtown History Center, but they didn't inline them like we do. So it is kinda difficult to find out where they all go. I tried to add some where I think they go and asked the gentleman who wrote the history to help me out and he said he would, but with the holidays and his day job he hasn't yet. I might try and go through and look at the rest of them and see if I can find out where they go.

Past that and that schools section which I have put off (due to the holidays) I am not sure where to go with the article, what to add next. - NeutralHomer T:C 23:52, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Most of the big businesses are in Winchester, about 5 miles to the north. Mostly all the businesses here are hometown, Mom and Pop businesses. We have grocery stores here (regional chains), gas stations, and restaurants (national chains) here, but no factories or anything. So that part might be a little tricky.
Geography is easy though. If you do a "360" in town you see mountains (from the Blue Ridge) and your normal Appalachian hills. Stephens City is situated in the northern part of the Shenandoah Valley. The town itself is mostly flat with only the south and west sections of town being a little "hilly". - NeutralHomer T:C 03:46, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
