Hi Miniwheats -- Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for your contribution to Talk:Contrabass clarinet -- we usually use the talk page for discussing the article rather than our own connection to the subject. But to answer your question, I think the most important thing about playing the B-flat and E-flat contra clarinets that is different from the higher clarinets is to learn to make sure that the instrument is in good shape. These things (especially if you have a school instrument) often have little air leaks, keys that don't work properly, or pads that are out of line. If you learn how to make sure your instrument is working great, you can have many great years of playing it. But don't abandon the bass or the B-flat either!
