Potential conflict of interest[edit]

I notice that every single edit you have made to Wikipedia involves the addition of external links to washingtonpost.com. If you have any kind of affiliation with the Washington Post, you should have a look at Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines, in particular the section about disclosing such an affiliation. Thank you. Deli nk (talk) 00:11, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Deli nk. I do indeed. However, I am not acting on behalf of the company. This is just my personal contribution to Wikipedia. I only add citations - most if not all are from a history blog - to historical entries. I do not add or edit text entries to avoid any conflict of interests.

Would appreciate your time and advice on how to best proceed going forward with this while being fully transparent about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markipedia 1 (talkcontribs) 14:33, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We have a name for this, and it is WP:REFSPAM. We love having great writers and experts contribute, but not when they just come to spam references. Please be aware that editing Wikipedia is privilege, not a right, and the editing community removes or restricts editing privileges from people who abuse them. Will you please stop doing this? (real question) Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:15, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. Kendall-K1 (talk) 21:04, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

So we're clear, Markipedia, adding a bunch of links to your employer's website doesn't look permissible to us. I'm sorry you're bored at work. Wikipedia is not the place for this. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:30, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
At the discussion linked I've mentioned how good your added references are, and valuable to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion, and don't be discouraged by other editor's comments. The references that you've added that I've seen are certainly not spam, but good edits that improve each article. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:39, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Spamming washingtonpost.com/news/retropolis[edit]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Markipedia 1. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
