February 2012[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically File:Eminem - Recovery.jpg, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Dan56 (talk) 05:09, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from uploading disruptive images with no encyclopedic value, such as File:Eminem - Recovery (Front Cover).jpg. It is considered vandalism. Thank you.

Per WP:NFCC, lower-resolution is preferred for non-free content, and your uploads are unnecessary, as they are replacable by current lower-resolution versions of the ones you're replacing. Don't. Dan56 (talk) 05:41, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate images to Wikipedia, as you did to File:Bad Meets Evil - Hell The Sequel (Deluxe Edition) (Front Cover).jpg. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Dan56 (talk) 05:57, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Eminem - Recovery (Alternative Cover) (Front Cover).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Eminem - Recovery (Alternative Cover) (Front Cover).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:06, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for File:50_Cent_-_The_Massacre_(Special_Edition).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:50_Cent_-_The_Massacre_(Special_Edition).jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 13:37, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Ice_Cube_-_Raw_Footage_(Front_Cover).jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ice_Cube_-_Raw_Footage_(Front_Cover).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 13:39, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Eminem_-_Recovery_(Alternative_Cover)_(Front_Cover).jpg[edit]

I have tagged File:Eminem_-_Recovery_(Alternative_Cover)_(Front_Cover).jpg as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 13:41, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Ready Set Go!, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Show Out (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Roscoe Dash Photo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Roscoe Dash Photo.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.beatboxxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Roscoe+Dash++1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 11:11, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Roscoe Dash Photo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Immediately stop uploading pictures[edit]

You are not Roscoe Dash. Even if you were, some of those pics appear to be owned by record companies, and thus even Dash could not release them into public domain. You may not upload copyrighted materials unto Wikipedia. You will be blocked if you continue to do so. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:16, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for uploading copyrighted files. I realize I just gave you a warning, but looking at the rest of your page, you've had numerous warnings for copyright violations, failure to provide fair use tags, etc. Copyright is a something that Wikipedia takes seriously, so I have to block you to stop you from doing more uploading. If you agree to stop uploading pictures, an unblock may be possible.. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
