Orphaned non-free media (Image:Twelve Eighteen, Pt. 1 album cover.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Twelve Eighteen, Pt. 1 album cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image copyright problem with Image:Lil Kim album cover.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Lil Kim album cover.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:47, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tha Mixtape Vol. 1 - Undiscovered has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reinserting inappropriate content[edit]

Please stop reinserting inappropriate content, as you have done with the remixes section of the A Milli article. The information does not meet our policies for inclusion. Please do not continue to reinsert the information, or you may be blocked from editing. SWATJester Son of the Defender 16:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia articles, such as those you made to Fresno, California, even if your ultimate intention is to fix them. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. RE[edit]

I wish I would believe you but simply putting an "aritst"'s name doesn't make them notable. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:36, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Special Edition.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Special Edition.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. DiverseMentality(Boo!) 07:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2009[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Ridin' worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 02:23, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted because you were self-promoting yourself with your user page. A user page is only used to show your activity in Wikipedia. To show yourself as rapper, either create an article of your own or don't put anything at all. --01:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
The answer I was looking for :) Basically, you are not notable enough for Wikipedia. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:47, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For reference on what makes an artist notable, click here. The guidelines should help you get the idea of what makes an artist notable here in Wikipedia. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then, the user should have its user page deleted, since it is promotion/advertising their own material. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:52, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are simply here to promote yourself, right? --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:55, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can but there are certain things you can't put on your User page. Such as advertisements, treat it as a blog, etc. (all under WP:USER#NOT) Since you were making a profile to yourself as a rapper, you're advertising yourself. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 02:01, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Chingo Bling - They Can't Deport Us All Front Cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chingo Bling - They Can't Deport Us All Front Cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
