TodorBozhinov 19:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was thinking that maybe you would like to join the WikiProject Bulgaria. There you can also find and contact users who are trying to improve Bulgaria-related articles. If you would like to get involved, just visit the participants page and/or inquire at the project's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

OCS[edit]

Look further down on the Old Church Slavonic article: "Some scholars use these terms for tradition's sake but believe that Old Macedonian better reflects the language's basis in the dialect of Thessaloniki spoken by Cyril and Methodius. This name is unrelated to current ethnic and political polemics surrounding the Republic of Macedonia, and its use predates these issues." Schmalstieg and Nandris both mention the term in their handbooks of Old Church Slavonic. It is quite common in English-language scholarship. You can find these handbooks in any decent university library. If you do not have access to a decent university library, then don't argue with people who do. 82.181.205.224 11:18, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help on List of Bulgarian films[edit]

List of French films, List of Spanish films. Други ги разделят по десетилетия, като List of Italian films (форматът е хубав, препоръчвам ти го), List of British films. TodorBozhinov 14:31, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TodorBozhinov 15:31, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
TodorBozhinov 16:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your help on all the list of films would be very much apprecaited -please can you complete Blugaria 1960 -2007 in particular. I don't mind you delete the prexisiting table if you can complete it. Thanks -List of Romanian films is also very poor and these ar einmportant cinema lists . ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 22:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you double check the intro paragraph -

  • "For an alphabetical list of articles on Italian films see Category:Bulgarian films."

I presume you meant to say

  • For an alphabetical list of articles on Bulgarian films see Category:Bulgarian films.

Ditto for List of Bulgarian films: 1919-1949. SkierRMH 04:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK cool good work, But if you can wikify the years as e.g 1959 in film|1959 with a [[ ]] -this way it links to themain pages for the years. Also remember the films wikipedia already has in the category. A Bulgarian user I am pals with created a few of them. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 18:19, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLease can you develop the List of Bulgarian film: 1960s and the others - the 1950s list looks great ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 14:58, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2006... --Gligan 13:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Vreme na nasilie.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Vreme na nasilie.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:46, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Vreme_na_nasilie.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vreme_na_nasilie.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 18:52, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Jackanapes 09:49, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In Romanian folklore tradition, recorded in modern times (which isn't connected with the concrete historical figure of this medieval ruler), and in modern Romanian historiography the name Kaloyan is known as Ioniţă Caloian. There isn't Romanian form of this name recorded during the Middle Ages because there isn't even a single document, written in Romanian language from this epoch.

- Jackanapes 23:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hear the woods[edit]

this is the first and last time im communicating with you. your text file that you want to sneak-in as a "source" along with the agendas that you obviously try to push behind it will not go through. Same for your acts of vandalism and most of all, hypocrisy (you warn me about the rules while you are breaking them constantly). I can agree that an audio file is not sufficient per se as a source , but its certainly better than nothing, at least cause its performed by internationaly acclaimed folklore institution (Tanec). Also, that questionable macedonian website that you are reffering to is removed long ago and is no longer a subject. Regarding the history of my edits, you didnt check them well, cause you would see im mostly involved with balkan folk/pop/rock music-related articles and not in political/ nationalist agenda-pushing like you. Regarding your great "concerns" about the song 'naming conventions', here are some examples for you, first lets begin with popular themes: Guantanamera (Girl from Guantanamo, Spanish title), La Bamba (song) (again spansih title), then national anthems: La Marseillaise (French title), Deutschlandlied (German title), Mila Rodino (Bulgarian title, its not "Dear Motherland"), then Eurovision songs: Insieme: 1992 (1990 winner, Italian title), Ein Bißchen Frieden (1982 winner, German title), Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi (1988 winner, French title), Molitva (2007 winner, Serbian title) and so on. The only exception I found so far among the song titles is the famous Brazilian song Girl from Ipanema, the article has an english title. The conversation is over.--Chajeshukarie 14:00, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--Gligan 09:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm quite disappointed you gave up on the Bulgarian film list. You were off to such a great start. It looks rather odd now that the pre 1960 is complete and 1960 to present is empty. Per Wikipedia:Banning policy he is no longer allowed to edit in any way, including talk pages and so on. Then you can let either User:AnonEMouse or User:Neil who are admins and are aware of the case. Thanks. Mr. Neutron 15:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is very sad indeed, a couple of Bulgars, no lives, sitting on their comps every night reverting edits made by a far more superior being then them. You may say the same thing about me, but on the contrary, I call it research... Because you see, I am a very busy individual with a more advanced education than yourselves, living in a richer country than yourselves, laughing upon individuals such as yourselves. Thank you for your time, your pal, Frightner -> 203.59.218.120 09:58, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jackanapes 01:48, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jovano, Jovanke[edit]

I put Sarievski first as he was performing the song for a long time (this singer is not amongst us anymore) and far earlier than the performance made by Trifunov (it is pretty much new thing).MatriX 10:21, 12 September 2007 (UTC) [reply]

purebulgaria.com[edit]

I have removed the link to the purebulgaria.com, which was spammed across several dozen articles by the same user. It is not appropriate for Wikipedia, since its primary intent is to get visitors to the site in order to sell some product/service (for example, note the number of keywords stuffed into the title). See WP:EL and WP:SPAM for more information. CoJaBo 21:55, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I've had to block you (24h) for your revert-warring on Aleksandar Donski. This article is protected by the rules of WP:BLP. You were repeatedly re-introducing poorly sourced negative POV material about a living person, about which there had been multiple prior complaints to Wikipedia, with related admin interventions and warnings.

I'll unblock you if you give me some confirmation you've understood what this is about and will not continue with this editing. Fut.Perf. 06:42, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually I was reverting Frightner. NOt more and not less. I surely won't do it again, but I was under the impression he should be reverted. --Laveol T 11:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So he really is invincible - too sad :( --Laveol T 11:42, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, actually, the 79.* anon (and "Ireland101") seem not to have been Frightner after all. And even if, I guess WP:BLP beats WP:BAN in such a case. But okay, I'll accept your explanation and unblock. Can you then please help keeping an eye on the article to keep it clean? It's a shame it was in this state for so long. Apparently the original guilty party was FunkyFly, as it now turns out, and a Greek anon who restored the junk after Swatjester removed it. -- About Frightner's invincibility, well, we'll see. Fut.Perf. 12:41, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I'll help. I might even clean it up a bit. No more reinstating of the previous POV though - understood. --Laveol T 20:42, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barbarian[edit]

Although I am unaware of your academic credentials, it is apparent that you have limited understanding of Ancient Greek culture. In this article [[4]] what it fails to define is the what barbarian meant to the Ancient Greek's and that was a foreigner/ non-Greek [[5]] Ireland101 —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 16:46, 13 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Map[edit]

Well, first of all - are we sure that Simeon didn't rule those coastal areas to the southwest?

Second of all, Croatian Duke Trpimir acquired Bosnian territory up to the Drina (from Serbia?) - "King" Tomislav defeated Simeon's Army (his only major and complete defeat) at the Battle of the Bosnian Highlands, but the border moved back from Drina to Bosna. Before Bulgaria abolished Serbia in act in 924, Rascia was periodically vassalaged to Bulgaria since the late 9th century, which included the Bosnian plain between Drina and Bosna.

And lastly, Syrmia seems a bit too expanded westwards - wasn't that big. --PaxEquilibrium 13:21, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have to check it up - but as far as I remember he might have ruled them for a short period. --Laveol T 14:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well sure - Simeon invaded Croatia in 926, and the Battle of the Bosnian Highlands was on 27 May 927. --PaxEquilibrium 19:52, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
