I chose the two articles, "Algophobia" and "Osmophobia" which are both phobias that Wikipedia did not have much information about. "Algophobia" is the abnormally strong fear of pain and "Osmophobia" is the fear or hypersensitivity to odors. 1. I chose the article "Superficial charm" because I've wanted to learn how psychopaths get their charm after watching many crime shows. There isn't too much on the article yet, but I think research could be found.

Nick Shields ~ HNRS 299

1. I chose the wiki page "Cold feet" which is psychological phenomenon in which somebody deviates from a planned action (e.g. Brides "cold feet" before a wedding). There seems to be a couple of research studies regarding this psychological term which would allow for expansion of the wiki page.

2. I chose the wiki page "Lateral dorsal nucleus of thalamus" because it believed to play a role in emotion and behavior which is under the scope of Biological Psychology. Biological psychology is very interesting to me, but I have not been able to find specific research regarding this nucleus and it's functions.

I think both of your choices are VERY interesting. I wouldn't even have guessed that there would be a "cold feet" page. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds like this should involve a lot of decision theory. If you need some help with your thalamus edits, I can probably point you in the direction of some good resources. It sounds like you're off to a great start! Jolie Leung ~ HNRS 299

1. RIght now I'm trying to decide the wiki pages "Visual Thinking" and "Visual Space". I'm interested in the way that both affect the design process, why certain designs are just naturally appealing and why certain ones don't. I'm still looking to see if there is a better article to suit what I'm talking about, but these come the closest. Both are pretty basic and bare, so I want to expand them in a way where it touches more upon art and perceiving designs, especially to relay information. 1. I chose the wiki page "Augmented Cognition", which is "a research field at the frontier between human-computer interaction, psychology, ergonomics and neuroscience, that aims at creating revolutionary human-computer interactions." (To quote the Wikipedia itself!). The subject is interesting to me due to my interest in web design, and the article is in need of help because it only consists of 3 sentences total, yet it looks as if there is a lot of new information on the subject.

2. Stacey Olson ~ HNRS 299

1. I chose the article "Gender role" because as an Anthropology/Geography major I am deeply interested in this topic due to the great variance in gender roles throughout cultures around the globe. It is quite apparent that gender roles everywhere have an effect on the psyche of members of any given culture. I came across this article while searching and discovered that it is need of many edits including the addition of citations in the Culture section.

2. My second article of interest is "Fa'afafine". The Fa'afafine are a third gender of the Samoan culture that I learned about in Anthropology last quarter. The dynamic that they add to their culture is simply fascinating and I think researching them in more depth would be very interesting.
