Hi Kaikitty30, as I explained in my edit summary (here), the origin of universities in general is disputed, which makes this a particularly difficult topic to add to the List of inventions in the medieval Islamic world. As is partly covered in our University article, some scholars believe universities to be a invention going back only to 11th-century Italy and Spain (with the University of Bologna being the first one), while other scholars believe some early madrasas such as that of al-Qarawiyyin to qualify as 'universities'. We would need to find and cite good sources for all of this, which is something I don't have the time for now.
