Preservation (library and archival science)[edit]

Any citations you could give me for your info in the preservation article would be much appreciated. Just post the cites here if you like and I can add them in - I'm trying to footnote the piece and make sure the whole thing becomes wiki standard. If you would rather do your own footnotes, I can post the templates I use here for you.Efkeathley 12:23, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Efkeathley! Citations are coming... gradually. I'm coordinating a project with my LS students to expand coverage and currently most of their editorial focus is on the linked wikipedia articles and we've yet to transfer that information over into the main page. Appreciate all your help with this and your efforts to get the archivists involved in wikipedia! Jnadal 14:21, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy to see students working in an organized way to get more of this information onto the wiki. Over the next week I'm going to put unsourced information banners on the articles that need cites added in. Preservation education is a subject near and dear to my heart.
Because this is a class project, you might want to make a note over on the article discussion page about the work in progress. There are some wiki editors who make a habit of going around deleting unsourced information, with the goal of getting contributors to cite their stuff as it is added. However, people tend to give students working on projects a bit more consideration before overwriting their stuff.
Thanks for the suggestion - I added a "work in progress" note on the main page. Jnadal 15:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was it your group who suggested the article merge? Could you go to the article talk page and state why you do or do not think an article merge is a good idea?Efkeathley 11:56, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure where that originated, but it's a reasonable idea. I added a comment in the discussion section. Jnadal 15:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
