I would just like to let you know that it was Kat Walsh who made that username, and I'm fairly certain she knows policy. In case you werent aware, I'm pretty sure the reason the name was created, along with several others, was in response to the current controversy over WP:SLG. I dont know if its correct for me to mention this, but I just thought I'd let you know. I  (said) (did) 06:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Understandable. I agree that the issue is probably what caused this current one with the new guy, but at the same time, it does go against username policy of being too similar to an existing name. But I do thank you for the info :). Jmlk17 06:27, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Heh. They're not mine; I'm creating them on request for test accounts. Ask the owner of the username what they're for. :-) Kat Walsh (spill your mind?) 06:44, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
It seems to just be a bigger issue than it needs to be. Jmlk17 06:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

What is your problem?

What is your problemwith the festival of Plagiarism? I have been doing work on something which has existed invarious forms for nearly twenty years, which 1,930 hits on google and yet you call this nonsense and have evenput protectiononthe page? I would be grateful if you could inform me of your reasons for this behaviour?Harrypotter 12:00, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Honestly, I don't have a problem per se, other than the page was a short, unsourced stub with an unfree image, and said little to nothing about anything in particular. Jmlk17 17:52, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Is it just me? 2

I'm going to re-start the conversation here since it has been archived. Anyway, why did Bertuzzi sign with Anaheim? Probably because they just won the Stanley Cup and he figures they may repeat. Though I'm not sure how well the Ducks are going to do this season, depending on if certain players decide to retire or not (which I've heard Niedermayer is definitely going to do, not sure about Selanne). Most teams have seemed to neither improved nor worsen. Flyers may have improved a bit after posting a horrible record this past season, not that I mind the Flyers being a bad team....but the rivalry (Devils-Flyers rivalry) is much more exciting when one team isn't doing badly. Haha. BsroiaadnTalk 17:20, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Eh, I like the moves personally. I'm not a fan of Bertuzzi (essentially stemming from his attempt to kill Steve Moore a few years ago and got away clean), but he is not that bad of a player still. He just wants a Cup, and seems to think Anaheim has the best chance for this coming season. The Flyers improved drastically, but I think the true powerhouse in the East in going to be the Rangers. I mean, Lundqvist is a great goalie, still up and coming, and they made it to the semi's last year with the squad they had. Then they went and signed Gomez and Drury...just enough power to boost them into the Eastern Elite, in my opinion. But hey, the West in always the best ;). Jmlk17 17:56, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, keep forgetting to check here. Haha. Anyway, I'm skeptical about how well Gomez will do this year, the last time a Devils went to the Rangers (Bobby Holik a couple years ago) he ended up doing pretty badly. The Rangers will definitely be one of the teams to beat this year, but I have confidence in the Devils getting over the hurdle of losing Gomez, just like they've done when they lost Scott Niedermayer. Rafalski is the one I actually think they may have trouble getting over, but we'll see. If the Devil's didn't pass every time they had a good goal opportunity, maybe they'd score more, that's one thing that gets me angry...they sit there for 5 minutes in the other teams end...just passing...then they wonder why it gets taken away. They really need to start looking for a new goalie, though...Martin Brodeur is starting to get up there...he already plays way more games than other goalies do, he's going to get worn out before most would, probably. The Rangers have another thing going for them, too....Sean Avery, some people hate him so much that they focus more on hurting him than they do on the actual game...that can be a big asset. That's one thing more teams need, a player like Sean Avery or Scott Stevens, a player you love to play with...but hate to play against. And the West is the best? Puh-lease, the East would beat the West so badly if the right players are picked. :-P BsroiaadnTalk 23:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello

Hey buddy, just touching base. I've been up to the usual routine. Since anti-vandalism seems to be pretty well covered tonight, I've locked myself inside my sandbox to write a history section for Cirque Du Soleil. I had a little bit of downtime yesterday but no access to Wi-Fi, so I read through about forty past RfA's that I had saved on my harddrive, mostly just so I could get a feel for what things tend to generate support !votes and what things tend to generate !oppose votes. The only major issue that I've seen is my long break at the beginning of the year and my (relative) lack of work in mainspace. I mean, I've written a couple decent sized articles and I'm reworking one now, but there are those people that have (i feel) unrealistic expectations toward mainspace contributions by RfA candidates. These are just my views which may or may not reside totally within the realm of me talking out my ass. However, I just figured I would get your thoughts on them. Let me know if there are any other areas that I should be focusing my attention on.

Not that I will :), I have very strong feelings about diverting my resources away from a job as important as vandalism mitigation for political reasons, I'd just like to know. I will be around for at least another few hours, have a good night. Trusilver 05:09, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey hey...all's well here, other than the insane heat of Colorado lol. Glad you're checking in! In regards to your concern, I have to say one thing: there are numerous admins who helped base their Rfa and editing skills on the fact that they created "x" number of good articles, or helped "x" number of articles go to featured or whatever; I have created perhaps 3 dozen articles. None of those are featured, good, or even anything. They are almost all redirects that I have just come upon. I never did much article-building or anything, but rather, have just edited what I have found interesting. Maybe add a source here, copyedit a bit here, talk a little over there, etc. I agree that there is an unnecessarily high lofty standard at times for Rfa "qualifications", especially in regards to Mainspace edits. I must admit, I myself have opposed Rfa's for a lack of mainspace edits, but you have (as of this writing) 3,296. I mean honestly, who can argue with that? There is a current Rfa for EliminatorJR, with half as many as you, and I am so far, the only non-supporting voter. I wouldn't be worried about it whatsoever. You are an exceedingly strong vandal-fighter, as well as a good overall editor. I honestly think that the only issue standing between you and a successful Rfa is just the passage of time. You have only gotten heavily involved in the last couple of months (I can relate, as I took some much-needed time off as well). Keep up exactly what you are doing, and all will be well! :). I hope this help and helps answer your questions; I'm a bit busier in real life lately, so I may be a little delayed in responding to you at times, so I apologize in advance. Jmlk17 00:02, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh... don't complain about heat. At least not until you have spent a day sitting on my back patio in the Southern California desert enjoying a nice 120 degree day. It's not hot unless you have a chance of spontaneously combusting when you walk outside :) Trusilver 01:57, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Lol indeed. Just not all that used to it! Jmlk17 02:42, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Kersopoulus performances - Blazaki

FYI User Blazaki is reinserting the Kertsopoulus spam links to youtube promo-videos of Kersopoulus performances into music/guitar articles. I suspect they are one and the same identity as I note from contribs that when one stopped edits for a day or two the other then took up the task. RichardJ Christie 09:36, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Thank you for participating in My RfA which closed successfully. I am honored and truly more than a little humbled by the support of so many members of the community. It's more than a bit of a lift to see comments on my behalf by so many people that I respect. I'll do my best to not disappoint you or the community. - Philippe | Talk 20:25, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the kind note. Per Giggy's comment, I will wait until the end of the day before deciding on what to do next. Cheers, --Aarktica 04:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

You're far too kind. *blush*

Thank you!!! Jmlk17 04:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Only the best for my Australian friends! :) Jmlk17 04:28, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
You only wish you were one of us. Is that why you gave me this star, to steal my accent? Eh? EH?! Giggy UCP 04:32, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Lol! At least you guys have nice sounding accents. I get crap whenever I travel! I do suppose that a midwestern American accent can't be that nice to all ears though :). Jmlk17 04:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, the secret to developing a sexy accent like mine is quite simply really. Leave messages on my talk page instead of yours. That produces the new messages bar, and we all agree on the sexiness of that. Producing sexiness = Developing sexiness...it's like working with complex numbers. It just makes sense. Giggy is currently in maths class, and is bored, and is ahead of everyone... Giggy UCP 04:46, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Well crap...looks like I have a lot to learn!!! Jmlk17 04:57, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

My Editor Review

Hello! As I have run into you on Wikipedia, I was wondering if you would be willing to comment in my editor review. I know you are probably busy with other contributions to the project, but I would greatly appreciate any comments or criticism that you have that could make me a better editor! Thanks very much for your time and consideration, bwowen talkcontribsreview me please! 13:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Just following up on my previous comment, still hoping you would have time to review me. It has been nearly a week now since I put up my review, and I still have not gotten much feedback. I would really like to know how I'm doing from many points of view, to help figure out the quality of my work so far and how to improve it in the future. I'm sure you are busy, but if you could just drop me a note letting me know whether or not you'll be able to do it, that would be terrific. Thank you so much for your time. Best regards, bwowen talkcontribsreview me please! 02:38, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello

Hello there Jmlk17. Just wanted to drop by and say hi. I noticed you give out a lot of barnstars. Are you part of the WP:KC? --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (ταlκ) 14:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Not currently. I just like interacting with others around here, and a great way to do so is to give someone who deserves it a barnstar :). Jmlk17 17:20, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Piaggio

On the Piaggio page:

06:47, 24 July 2007 Jmlk17 (Talk | contribs) m (8,035 bytes) (Reverted good faith edits by 84.9.33.143; No need.. using TW)

Not sure why this edit was reverted. Why "no need"? Piaggio SpA is a public company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, it went public on the Milan stock exchange in 2006. You've reverted it back to its incorrect status as Private. Have I broken some guideline somewhere? Cheers. 84.9.33.143 07:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

My bad :). Jmlk17 07:28, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

gahh help is required

hey mate I have two quick questions. In my wikibox on my userpage, the row sixth down from the top is bigger than all the rest and I was wondering if you knew why. Also, I was wondering if there was an easy way of counting all of my edits without counting them one by one. --MKnight9989 13:10, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey buddy. I took a look at your userpage, and (at least for me on my laptop), it looks fine. Not sure if it's a difference between resolution or something of the sort. Also, there's a nice edit counter called wannabe kate that a bunch of people use around here for edit counting. Hope this helps man! Jmlk17 21:14, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
If you say it looks fine, I'll believe you. Thanks for the link to the edit counter!!! --MKnight9989 12:38, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hah! Thanks for catching that. I read over that about ten times before posting it and still managed to make a spelling error. Trusilver 03:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Lol sure! Just caught my eye :). Jmlk17 03:07, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Derren Brown vandalism

Is there any way to block the guy repeatedly vandalizing the Derren Brown page? His/Her statements have lawsuit written all over them. Unfortunately, Brown's new show makes its US debut tonight (June 26 EST) so the article may have to be temporarily semi protected to prevent recurrences. Quenn 03:15, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Already done. If more issue(s) arise, please file a request at requests for page protection. Jmlk17 03:16, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

FSTA

Why did you delete the Fantasy Sports Trade Association entry? I read the deletion log and it's not clear why it was deleted.

It's a legitimate organization that's frequently in the news. I'd like to re-create the page and add supportive sources and links. FantasyHistory 06:26, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

Thelmadatter 20:12, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter

I would love to, but I am obscenely busy at the moment. I am going to be online rarer and rarer, and I don't want to commit to something I can't follow through on. But best of luck! Jmlk17 22:06, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Have a few minutes?

I'm working on an article and could use someone to just look it over and give me any opinions that come to mind. If you get a few minutes, take a look at the History subsection of the article in my sandbox. I'm specifically looking for tone and NPOV. Thanks! Trusilver 02:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I was able to read over the history section, and must say I like what I see. You are working on a great section of a great article, and doing nothing but helping to improve it! Keep it up! Jmlk17 22:09, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to add your thoughts to the discussion at my recent Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Angus Lepper RfA, which failed, with no consensus to promote me. However, I appreciate the concerns raised during the course of the discussion (most notably, a lack of experience, particularly in admin-heavy areas such as XfDs and policy discussions) and will attempt to address these before possibly standing again in several months time. Admin coaching request

Hi, I'm GorillaWarfare and am hoping to receive some coaching to become an admin. If you'd like to coach me, please leave a message on my talk page. You can see my edit count here but don't be surprised when you see that I have 25 edits. That is because I recently forgot the password to my old account, User:Theunicyclegirl. Here is my edit count from my old account. I almost have 2000 edits. I frequently revert vandalism by watching Lupin's filtered RCs. I also like to expand stubs, particularly those relating to cats or dogs. I am very good with user warning templates and speedy deletion templates. I sometimes respond on AFD. Thanks for considering me! --GorillaWarfare talk 17:01, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey buddy. Sorry, but I am very busy at the moment, and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. Please check out the available coaches, and hopefully one will be open for ya! Jmlk17 21:52, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Good to see you back! I was getting ready to put you on one of those "have you seen me?" mailers. And there's nothing that affirms you are doing a great job like the miscellaneous anon vandal that leaves you an attack for reasons you can no longer remember. Trusilver 02:24, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Lol thanks :). I take the attack(s) as a compliment actually! Jmlk17 18:08, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Newcomer

Hello Jmlk17, I am Wikipedian since 2004 at the German WP. Would you please answer from time to time any questions? Yours --Pink Penta Phink Pink 11:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Jawohl...Ich kann, aber mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut. But English would be easier lol. But of course. Ask away! :). Jmlk17 18:10, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Du kannst Deutsch? Meine Augen weiten, meine Augenbrauen heben, und meine Mundwinkel bewegen sich aufwärts. Hoffentlich konntest du den relativ komplizierten vorigen Satz verstehen. :) How and when did you learn German? For a German newcomer like me it calms me down, not to make a mistake, and if I did, I could ask an admin, I can rely on. Thank you very much. --Pink Penta Phink Pink 17:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Good morning, Jmlk17! 1. Am I allowed to delete comments on my User talk? Where can I find the rules about? --Pink Penta Phink Pink 06:12, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, a great question! A good rule of thumb is that your talk page is your page, except when issues regarding Wikipedia are posted on it. For example, I can erase this entire conversation we have had so far. But I should not erase a warning or a block notice from my talk page if it is left by another user. I would suggest checking out talk pages on wikipedia and just browse through the usual outlines and rules. Also, mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut mehr. Ich habe vier Jahre des Deutschen in der Universität. Bitte, tut mir leid wenn ich Fehler mache. Wie sagen sie "Mundwinkel" auf Englisch? Jmlk17 17:03, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Thx! "Mundwinkel" ist quite the same as "Mouthangle". I had a tiny little conversation with a person, who was interested in dominating newcomers aggressivly. You know: A "The power may be with you!"-user. This type is not only in Germany from time to time a phenomenon. He couldn't really argue (He also didn't really enjoyed being criticised), but at last he set a warning-box, to be in good mood. I erased the warning without a word and trusted in the eyes of admins. Right or wrong? Vier Jahre? Nicht schlecht. Schriebst du eine deutsche Arbeit im Studium? Falls ja, worüber? Pink Penta Phink Pink 12:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I think the policy of WP:BITE is one that should always be followed. New users are just that...new. I've been around here for some time, but I remember being new and making mistakes and being warned for it. Therefore, I always try and welcome and just talk to people instead of yelling. Ich schriebe über deutsche Geschichte. Jederzeit Periode. Ich wählte Weltkrieg zwei, da es ist, was ich in der Schule studiere. Tut mir leid wenn meine Rechtschreibung oder Grammatik schlecht sind. I must say however, it was very cool to study the war from a different angle :). Jmlk17 16:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

HELLO???!

I disagree. A lot of people plan, plot, and never commit crimes. Just because the dude planned a school shooting doesn't make him notable. It's just a flavor of the week news story. Jmlk17 05:02, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

He is still a member of the fraternity and has been recognized in other articles. [3] .So why has he been deleted from the Iota article? UnclePaco 05:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

He's just not notable. I mean, there's even an AfD going on about the plot in general. Don't get me wrong dude, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but think about how many crimes and potential crimes there are around the country everyday. There can't be an article or such for every guy who plots to commit a crime. Jmlk17 05:18, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Hi, Jmlk17, and thanks for your participation in my RfA. I've withdrawn it, and will be writing up an "analysis" of it, which will soon be available at User:Giggy/RfA/Giggy when it's done. It's not your fault, I no it's incivil etc., but opposing because of that quote was bullshit. Anyway, if I go again I'd be happy to have you nom or co-nom me. But I don't know if I will, it really depends on how I go in the next week or so, and if I come back. You you be a third party and deal with User:67.190.44.85, I reverted him for blanking out large portions of Freddie Mercury and he continues spamming my talk page and making a general ass of himself even after User:PageantUpdater tried to step in. Trusilver 06:41, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

I actually saw that on your page, and gave him a decent faith warning. I think they have an ownership issue, but let's see how it pans out. Jmlk17 06:43, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, he's been blocked quite a few times over that article and judging from his past edit summaries, I think there's a "people skills" issue. But oh well :). Thanks. Trusilver 06:44, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I bet a block will be issued pretty soon. Eh, it happens though. No problem :). Jmlk17 06:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Heh... he's back with it on the edit summaries. :) I'm afraid this is a guy that just needs a good night of sleep and a few relaxing breaths of fresh air. Trusilver 06:48, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Disregard that, I was looking at a contribs list from earlier. Trusilver 06:49, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Phew...had me confused there for a second! Seems to have sauntered offline somewhere the past 10 minutes or so. Jmlk17 06:51, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Check out the conversation on Riana's talk page last night where we were comparing lunatic rants, it was great :) Trusilver 06:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Hah...you guys have too much fun :). Jmlk17 07:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

{{humour}} - yes, that's where you use mate. Well done, you're learning. As for the accent...travel here and I'll rate it for you. Reply to this on my talk, OK! Giggy Talk | Review 00:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm looking forward to it :P Giggy Talk | Review 01:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

:) never heard of the term "word"? Not as in regards to sentence structure or anything, but as slang...Jmlk17 02:53, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

The hell?

Okay, what gives? Thirty hours I was without internet access and I sit down and brace myself and open Wikipedia and..... not a single thing has happened. That much time and no vandal even had the decency to replace my user page with "THIS USER IS A FAG". I don't feel the love around here anymore. Trusilver 01:33, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Lol, give it time. The love is out there, but you've been gone for over a day, and the vandals seem to have very short attention spans. Revert some vandalism, and wait for the inevitable results! Jmlk17 01:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism... A way of feeling loved. --DarkFalls talk 05:39, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh, why of course! :) Jmlk17 05:40, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Very exciting to talk about, then the anticlimax when it's finished... --DarkFalls talk 05:43, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Lol. Not even sure how to comment on that one man... Jmlk17 05:44, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Dirty minded people indeed:) Now in other news...--DarkFalls talk 05:48, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

That's okay, I'm back in my stride again after reverting 20+ radical Islamic spam links. Trusilver 05:49, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Shit...that's definitely one way to get back into it really quickly! Jmlk17 05:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Up to about 25 now... mind coming over and blocking this guy? Trusilver 05:52, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Done... Riana's fast. --DarkFalls talk 05:55, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Well damn! I spent all day moving and packing and fighting and such...just too damn tired to move fast!...excuses excuses ;) Jmlk17 05:56, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Yep she snuck that one out from under you. Incidentally, my page has been vandalized 94 times now, I get the trip to Cancun at 100 right? or is it the steak knives at 100 and Cancun at 250? Trusilver 06:09, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I think it's the steak knives and carving set at 100, the mountain bike at 250, the snowboard at 500, and Cancun at 750. Hmmm, wonder if it's even ever gotten that high for someone. Hell, I'm stuck at 14 still! Jmlk17 06:11, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

The hilarious thing was I got bumped up to 95 while I was typing that message :) Trusilver 06:12, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Geez dude, shit's flying everywhere tonight. By the way, if I drop off the radar suddenly tonight, I've passed out sitting here lol. Jmlk17 06:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
After reading this conversation, only one word comes to mind. And it ends with x. That's right, you're all one big fat ox!!!! I need to vandalfight more... Giggy Talk | Review 07:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to participate at the discussion in my Request for Adminship. Unfortunately the nomination did not succeed, but please rest assured that I am still in full support of the Wikipedia project. I listened carefully to all concerns, and will do my best to incorporate all of the constructive advice that I received, into my future actions on Wikipedia. If you can think of any other ways that I can further improve, please let me know. Best wishes, Elonka 05:25, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Of course...best of luck! Jmlk17 05:36, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, University of Virginia? Maybe... I've given a lot of talks at different universities, though I can't remember that one in particular. Do you remember what it was about? Or perhaps you saw me on TV sometime? For example, I was on NOVA scienceNOW a week or two ago... --Elonka 23:39, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it was several years back, and my memory of my freshman year in college isn't exactly great lol. Jmlk17 23:49, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

RE:AIV

Hi, Jmlk17 about the AIV message you left on my talk page, you asked me to warn the user first, but how do you issue warning to an unregistered user? Can you please inform me on this. Thanks, -- Kudret abi 06:36, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. We have a whole lot of templates for just that. Just head on over to WP:TT and find the necessary and/or pertinent message! Hope this helps. Jmlk17 06:39, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I will look at it now. Thanks again, Kudret abi 06:44, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Not a problem...anytime! Jmlk17 06:45, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Final message

I'll be having to tell you, you stupid fucker that I am leaving this place. So that you and all you jackasses stay here with false information.--Willy, your mate 09:17, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

As stated above:
  • Be polite
  • Assume good faith
  • No personal attacks
--DarkFalls talk 09:24, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

LOL sure. Jmlk17 23:25, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Commenting further, especially after reading your now-retired talk page. It's selfish to expect what you put in to Wikipedia right back. I know I volunteer my time here. I enjoy Wikipedia not so much for the vandal-fighting, the administrative duties, nor the seemingly ceaseless editing I do at times. I learn so much from the project as a whole, just clicking links, reading, researching, and learning. To say that there is a lot of crap and bullshit around here is to be right. But to let it get to you is beyond lame. I have made great friends here, and, even though I will probably never meet many (if any) of them, their interactions are a joy. Sure, Wikipedia is not infallible, but what is? Your editing went to waste? Well, now it did. Leaving because of a few disputes? Alright, instead of taking a mature, user-friendly way out and talking to me or others with whom you have an issue, you call me a stupid fucker, turn on your proverbial heel, and run away. Willy, it's easy to become pissed off around here; I have it happen to me sometimes as well. But when you leave, it truly does make all of what you did fade into the past into nothingness, and make your contributions mean nothing. Jmlk17 01:08, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Hear hear --DarkFalls talk 07:36, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting

Thank you muchly for taking care of vandalism on my user page. ... discospinster talk 01:30, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Oh no problem! Very happy to do so. Jmlk17 01:32, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

RE: Hasek?

Well, Roy's GAA is much worse than Hasek's right? And a lot of his SV% stats are a tad worse too. I don't want to go into detail though...I'm off for the night. --Hasek is the best 03:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Lol alright. Maybe later we can have a good conversation :). Jmlk17 03:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I guess...--Hasek is the best 16:11, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Lyrl

I hope my comment on your oppose didn't seem too off the wall. I understand your looking for greater balance in edits. I just think looking at it as a percentage might be a bit misleading in Lyrl's case, given the sheer quantity of mainspace edits. Then again, you have gazillions of mainspace edits, and plenty of balance! You make the rest of us look like we're just sitting still.  ;) Take care. user:j 03:49, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Lol, no worries at all man. If my response came across harsh at all, I apologize. I like it when people disagree with me, or question me. Often, I am actually wrong as well lol! But it's all good. Happy editing! Jmlk17 03:54, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Suggest a 3 month block

User talk:203.221.51.94 keeps coming back even after 1 month block. May I suggest an escalating block of three months? ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 04:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Eh, I appreciate the concern, and normally I would agree, but as you can see here, the month long block is a step up from a week long. I personally feel a bit uneasy with a larger step at the moment. Jmlk17 04:49, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

you said...

you liked the quote. The following is a userbox I made for my personal use, and you're welcome to it. I basically made it to provide a "why" for the user box that says "This user is not an admin and is not interested in becoming one". Cheers, VanTucky (talk) 22:33, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Klein ISD school articles

I notice that a user named Mercedes is adding spam to existing Klein ISD articles. I will try to punish her if she spams them again. WhisperToMe 04:29, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I think "punish" is quite an exaggeration. Try conversation first. Jmlk17 04:43, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I tried conversation. She is NOT responding. WhisperToMe 05:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, especially when school is starting again, right? Cos chicks dig puffy eyed people who fall asleep in class and are coffee addicts. They really do. Giggy Talk | Review 07:31, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I still have a couple weeks. Plus, the chicks love my unshaven face...don't forget that! hah Jmlk17 07:32, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh yeah...well...they dig my clock even more! Giggy Talk | Review 07:38, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

The easiest way to become a chick magnet...drink some coffee, and grow a beard:) Hippies... --DarkFalls talk 09:59, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'm not a coffee fan; more of a tea guy myself. And as for the beard, it grows faster than I can shave it sometimes! But not really. And as for hippies...need I say more? Jmlk17 16:05, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Maan...you editing my clock ruined my userpage....for 13 hours! You so owe me a response on my talk page as apology. Giggy Talk | Review 22:09, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
