I noticed your most recent edit on Jesse Lee Peterson's page. Are you the James Anton Hake that works with Peterson? If so, you should read Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy. To disclose any conflict of interest, you can follow the directions here. Seoltoir22 (talk) 17:02, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that’s me, and I thank you for the directions, which I have now followed. I do work with him at the nonprofit he heads, and now that’s noted in the Talk pages (his and mine, as well as when I make edits). Given that his page had scant info (and I noticed is being considered for deletion for lack of mainstream sources), I’ve done these edits on my own time and without his input, providing neutral, relevant info, strictly from reputable sources, including potentially detracting info and rebuttals as well (see Kirsten Powers and Gloria Allred responses, and describing “sparse” and “small” protests). From your link, I saw Wikipedia’s note, which does not apply to my edits: “On Wikipedia, editors with a conflict of interest who unilaterally add material tend to violate Wikipedia's content and behavioral policies and guidelines. The content they add is typically unsourced or poorly sourced and often violates the neutral point of view policy by being promotional and omitting negative information. They may edit war to retain content that serves their external interest.” My edits have been sourced, and offer quotes, context, and incidents described in a disciplined, facts-only way that would be of value to anyone across the political spectrum. My only edit that has not been approved is that I deleted the line about his “spouse.” (He frequently says he never married, but was engaged twice; I’ve never heard of the woman listed, but I don’t know of any public record either way.) But I do NOT intend to “edit war” about that or anything else! I only want to bring useful and accurate information. JamesAntonHake (talk) 04:55, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, I did not perform edits with any intent to sneak or hide my identity. This is why I chose a username that is my real name, as I do across my public presence online. I’ve kept edits to what I believe would be of note and of interest to Wikipedia / readers left, center, or right. JamesAntonHake (talk) 05:13, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
