Regarding test posted for (at least) the 2006 & 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Seasons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Atlantic_hurricane_season), I would encourage discussion and analysis of motive for the placement of the statement: "...dates that conventionally delimit the period when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin during the year...". The hurricane season dates are based on data provided by NOAA. Data do not support the assertion in the statement above as quoted by chart data for past season 'profiles' here http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastprofile.shtml

The statement is out of place, unfounded and irresponsible to the context of the article. I am inclined to edit it, but I believe some footnoted scientists are responsible for some or all of the editing. 09/26/2007 JR869 01:47, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
