File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Monolithic Kernel OS Model.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 20:24, 9 May 2010 (UTC). I mistakenly uploaded the first image without setting the CC. I then (almost immediately) re-uploaded the file with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License, however the file does not seem to indicate the change. How to proceed? JLSjr (talk) 21:44, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

D.O.S. article history missing

History2007, I am puzzled that the version history of the Distributed operating system article begins specifically after my last contribution. Is there some sort of maximum time window for displaying contributions under "View history"? The (Initial Release) is not listed. And to beat all; I, JLSjr, am not even listed under "Contributors."

This brings me to a point that is very difficult to discuss, the user Ksudir01. I emphasize user to invoke every connotation of the word. This person made no substantial contribution during the materialization of this article whatsoever. It would appear that only after the version history window had reached a specific point did he announce the article as his own, and ask for a review. This user is now touting this article as his own work in many venues, including Wikipedia.

This is not an attempt to bash or berate a fellow Wiki user; but simply an attempt to preserve the record of my contributions. If the process tarnishes the brass testiculars of any petty usurper, then so be it.

This article was written under severe circumstances, and I have been negligent of my responsibilities of late. But I undertook this project for a purpose. Firstly, there was absolutely no mention of Distributed operating system anywhere on Wikipedia (at the time); and that fact required attention. However, and more importantly, the syllabus of the advanced operating system course at a top-five ranked computer science institution stated, "any reference to Wikipedia will constitute an automatic failing grade." I found this to be hypocritically appalling, as the same course syllabus suggested the use of Wikipedia as the first-stop for "basic" information.

I took this as a personal challenge, and insisted that I be able to produce this article as my project. I was told that this project would be scrutinized much more rigorously than others, and that I was "not doing myself any favors" by proceeding in this direction. In the end, an "A" was awarded on both the project and the course. I am truly gratified when I see the article's view count; 5000+ (past 30 days), and 16,000+ (past 90 days). Furthermore, the view history graph would suggest viewership is increasing rapidly. This certainly satisfies the first objective. The second is unfortunately more subjective; and only time will tell if the D.O.S. article has had any impact.
