You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute (RBNI) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Status and Advice[edit]

As for the Institute, I reviewed the article, adjusted it to our format, and moved it to Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute

It would help to have references providing substantial coverage from outside 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Remember not to copy from a web site -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. Some of the material in the article therefore still needs to be rewritten--it will be easier to rewrite it than to license it, but if you do want to license it, follow the rules just linked to above. . Keep in mind that the goal of an encyclopedia is to say things in a concise manner, which is not the style of press releases or web sites, which are usually more expansive.

We need a photo of the institute for the article, not of the director (I'm going to try to write an article on him and use the photo there) . Remember to use the proper licensing.

As a general rule, a suitable page will be best written by someone without Conflict of Interest; it's not impossible to do it properly with a conflict of interest or as a paid press agent, but it's relatively more difficult: you are automatically thinking in terms of the organization wishes to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know. If you think you can do it right according to our guidelines, do so, but expect the article to be carefully checked for objectivity.

But see our rules about Conflict of Interest. As they say, even with Conflict of Interest you may edit, provided you do so objectively. It is not advised, because experience shows that a person will have great difficulty writing an objective article about themselves. If you think you can do it right according to the guidelines, do so, but expect the article to be carefully checked for objectivity.

Therefore, you must choose another username. As explained in WP:USER, only individuals may edit. When you use a name that is or includes the namer of your organization, you imply that you are editing officially, and have a superior right to edit the page. But that is not the way WP works--all editors are considered equal--and your contributions like those of any editor must be justified by sources. I'm sure you did not intend to give such impression, but that's why we have the rule. Therefore, please choose another name. On that user page, you should say whom you are working for.

Hope this helps. DGG ( talk ) 21:05, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cornell NYC Tech[edit]

Hi mate! Cornell NYC Tech is looking much better I think. The references need work but there are stacks and stacks from reputable sources, so we should be able to do away with the non-RS ones. I'll be away for a few hours but feel free to continue the work. Just watch the pro-Israel bias. I know it's tempting to swing back the other way (given how biased the article was to begin with) but we need to stick to WP:NPOV, yeah? No need to go into detail about Israel, the institute, diplomatic efforts (unless they directly relate) and other nonsense. Just focus on the subject at hand. Cheers, Stalwart111 07:05, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!
I was shocked at how the article was, and used my field of expertise (Israel science and technology) to try and move it to a more objective place. However, the correct presentation of Cornell NYC Tech should involve and expert on cornell/NYC/US academia. The involvement of Technion in Cornell NYC Tech is not represented correctly and proportionately as the article stands right now. The Technion Cornell Innovation Institute is a small part of the greater venture, and could even have its own page as its focus is specific to advance research (when it finally begins to exist on the ground!)
Thanks
Israelscitech (talk) 07:13, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Israelscitech[reply]
No, that's probably right - it needs more work. I think it's probably just a matter of getting involvement from a few good copy-editors generally, rather than trying to find a subject area expert. A few good editors with a solid understanding of sourcing and verifiability would be a good start. When I get some time I'll insert some of the good sources I've found. Hopefully that will balance the involvement of various groups/institutes. That's all a matter of giving appropriate weight to sources.Stalwart111 07:48, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've added it to some WikiProjects which means it should get some more attention. Stalwart111 07:55, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! You're great :-)
It will also develop as Cornell NYC kicks into action - with breakthroughs, patents etc. It is good and right that it has a wikispace. I will be following it from the backseat though, as the claims against Technion were untrue and pitifully misinformed - as well as in a large part irrelevant to the article. It would be more appropriate for NYACT to make a page about itself (if the organization is notable enough). Israelscitech (talk) 08:15, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Israelscitech[reply]
Ha ha, thanks. Yeah, there is an extent to which it will expand organically - all good. I've left a note for the editors at WP:WikiProject Cornell University asking for some input as well. Stalwart111 08:25, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great! I live and learn! The topic also involves NYC and Mayor Bloomberg. I don't know if they have a similar wikiproject? Israelscitech (talk) 08:35, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Israelscitech[reply]
Yeah, there's WP:WikiProject New York City too - it has also been added. Stalwart111 08:46, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Science and Nonduality Conference (SAND) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Yes! Please delete (I couldn't figure out how). I made a mistake, but now have written the article in the Sandbox and submitted it for review. I misunderstood the process and published thinking it was a creative space. 84.109.49.213 (talk) 19:30, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
