Re:Adminship

I'm nearly finished with coaching two editors, so I should be able to coach you very soon. Right now, I would suggest exploring administrative areas and reading key policy pages. Also, I would try to lay off the Huggle use (though it doesn't look like you've had many problems there). I'll post some links that may be of interest to you:

  • WP:ARL try reading these.
  • WP:ADMIN
  • WP:AFNN read this now so you know what will be expected of you.
  • WP:ANOT
  • WP:MMO I'm having you read this to make sure you understand that this should be the opposite of your thinking. The reason I'm bringing this to your attention is because you stated on your to do list that one of your main goals is to get more barnstars. This really isn't the appropriate attitude for a potential administrator, but I'm sure you will understand my meaning after reading this.

And here are some areas on Wikipedia that you may not have heard of before that you might be interested in:

  • WP:ITN-Picking the items for the "In the news" section on the main page.
  • WP:ERROR-Regarding finding errors and fixing them as they appear on the main page.
  • WP:SA-"On this day" section on the main page.
  • WP:AFC-Articles requested to be created by non-registered users.
  • Reviewing:
    • WP:GAN-Reviewing and promoting articles to good article status.
    • WP:FAC-Reviewing and promoting articles to featured article status.
    • WP:FPC-Reviewing and promoting pictures to featured picture status.
    • WP:FLC-Reviewing and promoting lists to featured list status.
    • WP:ASSESS-General article reviewing.
  • WP:RESCUE-Rescuing articles from deletion at AFD.
  • WP:DPL-Repairing links to disambiguation pages.
  • WP:3O-Giving a third opinion in disputes.
  • WP:REFDESK-Answering questions posed to Wikipedians at the reference desk.
  • WP:EAR-Help users making requests.
  • WP:TRANSLATE-Volunteer to translate articles to english.
  • WP:WC-Welcome new users.
  • WP:MAINT-Help with general maintenance tasks.
  • WP:DELSORT-Sorting deletion discussions by type rather than only dates.
  • WP:RA-Create requested articles.

Best of luck! Malinaccier (talk) 23:07, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

IP Complaint

why on earth did you conside my contributions to Sandro Burki as vandalism? if there is any error in the facts on the page then please inform me. perhaps my editing and formatting isnt great but please tell me how and why you consider this to be worthy of a warning?

As I said, I apologized on your talk page and reverted my rollback :) Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 15:55, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

You were trying to ban me. Perhaps in future you ought to have a read instead of going in like a bull in a china shop. People spend a long time working things out, linking things together so you ought to pay a bit of attention before you start throwing muck at people. Is this the most moronic thing you have done today or are there others? Perhaps you ought to be under review?

Umm...looking at your previous history, I see no reason why you have the right to lodge a complaint. I personally issued an apology on your talk page, and in no way was I "trying to ban you". Please, be more civil. Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 16:01, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Having put a fair amount of time in it is pretty bad for somebody simply to vandalise it withought looking. Be more careful. I am being as civil as can be. Are you American?

First, I wasn't "vandalising"; I simply thought your edit, which contained bold text, was vandalism. Again, I noticed my mistake and reverted. Secondly, "Is this the most moronic thing you have done today or are there others?" and "bull in a china shop" are mentioned in WP:CIVIL. Finally, no, I'm British. Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 16:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Goodness. I am so sorry. I really didn't mean to offend. I just felt like I was back at school and the housemaster had pulled my pants down again. I felt like you were Cunliffe and had stolen my apple that time. I was crying, calling for nanny. I am sorry. I don't know what came over me. I am so sorry. I didn't want to upset you too. Then we'd have been in dead lumber. I am so sorry. Please forgive me.

No problem! In fact, it was mostly my fault, as I had reverted a perfectly good edit. Please, accept my apologies. Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 16:14, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Edit conflict

Why the revert ? Abyssal (talk) 15:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

More vandalism? Tsk - this person is awful. Can somebody please take note and ban them?

As I noticed you had placed XXXX in paleontology, I thought it vandalism. Again, I apologize, and will promptly revert self. Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 16:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
XXXX is a placeholder. :) Abyssal (talk) 16:05, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Ah. Pardon my lack of knowledge in that respect :) Cheers. Imperat§ r(Talk) 16:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Editor review2

Hello, you currently have an Editor review request listed on the main page, although it has gained at least one review, it has been listed on the main page for over 30 days (the time limit), if you want additional time for your request to be open or if you want it to be closed, please acknowledge me of your decision to make proper procedures from there on. Thanks.--TRUCO 22:41, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay, done. Sorry you had to wait so long for little responses. Next time, hopefully, more reviewers will be available if you wish to reopen a review. --TRUCO 23:12, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Friday franchise

I'd love some help promoting it - actually would welcome the help. After I wrote it I virtually expelled all my energy and now need some fresh eyes to come in and say "Hey, have you ever thought of including this?", or "This would sound better like this." Oh, and in case you were wondering, as I have been asked this by others in the past, the reason there isn't a "Rotten Tomatoes" table, like there is on say Spider-Man (film series), is because out of the 12 films, only 2 (maybe 3 if you include Jason X) actually have representative critic samples. In other words, most of the other films don't have very many critical reviews listed (thus a percentage on critical opinion would not be representative of critics as a whole), and of the ones that are there 99% are from the past couple of years. Thus, just about all of them do not give us an indication of what the overall reception for each individual film was when it was originally released anyway. Luckily, I have that source that touches on the fact that the series was never critically successful in any installment. Anyway, just thought I'd get that out there, in case you were wondering about it.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:17, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I reverted one of your changes. There are Cast members and then there is the Film crew.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:35, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm actually in the process of expanding "Impact". I've added one new thing, and I've found a few more sources to use. One, which I'm going to have to paraphrase a lot (because it's long) delves into how Friday the 13th has virtually shaped the slasher film genre, and how most critics fail to actually see what it has accomplished. As for the documentaries, could you (when you have the time), be more specific. The reason they are generalized in description is because, as far as the DVD goes, I didn't want to just restate what the back of the DVD box says it contains. As for the books, they're literally just interviews about what they did during filming. Nothing terribly special to report.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
It's not covered by the source (which is one of the only reliable ones I could find), and I cannot delve into anything personally because that would be original research on my part. Apart from adding that the book as never before seen photos, there really isn't much else to say. I'm not sure what else you're really looking for, because, other than being for the franchise, the book isn't notable (hence why it doesn't have its own page). These types of books typically aren't, and rarely get coverage. I have a book for Hellraiser and A Nightmare on Elm Street that I cannot find published sources at least talking about its release so that I can add that to their respective franchise articles.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:20, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
I couldn't personally observe something, beyond maybe saying "the book has 285 pages", or something objective that wouldn't be challenged. I did add some more about what the books has (pictures not seen), but unless some more sources pop up discussing the book (maybe someone professional reviewed it), then unfortunately the book just gets the "it has this" treatment. :(  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:44, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
