As re-iterated earlier, this is not an article of self promotion. I am an art historian and curator and think along with several prominent curators in India that the work of Equus Gazing is epoch making and needs to be known in art circles. We think what he is doing is likely to make a huge impact on contemporary art architecture and sculpture.

As per me I am looking for no publicity for myself or my organization SPREAD, which is involved in promotion and preservation of contemporary and traditional art of India. India is a country on the verge of international explosion in the arts and except for perhaps Mr. Subodh Gupta, few indian artists are currently in the focus of contemporary art curators.

Please understand the article on Writism was already pre-existent on Wikipedia before I edited it to include latest advances in the oeuvre of the artist.

I find it extraordinary that my editing of a pre-existing work has led to a complete deletion of the article.

Will me much obliged if you could please restore it.

The article on Writism were existent on Wikipedia, way before - at least since Sept 2009. All I did was edit it , to incorporate the latest advancements in the artist's oeuvre. And this is not self promotion. I as an independent curator uploaded it. Initially at my own instance. And when you suggested 'copy right' violation, I got permission from the artist and copyright holder. So this is not uploaded by the artist , but by, an independent art historian with over 22 years experience in the field, who thinks this is a major advancement in the field. I myself am a graduate of India's world famous IIT, Kharagpur, and am head of SPREAD, an independent body, engaged in the integration and spread of artistic heritage, both traditional and contemporary. I can send you a scanned copy of the Times of India article . They in fact released both a coffee table book , enlisting the 28 Trailblazers to look forward to in the coming year 2012. They also carried an article, in a special supplement to the daily newspaper on the 29 Jan 12. If you send me your email id, I can send you a scanned copy of the Times of India article, with photographs, showing the artist at the ceremony of the book launch, being felicitated by the Chief Minister . Please send me your mail id so I can send you the articles. Even the comments from the chief curator of the NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART ( India's most prestigious contemporary art gallery and museum )is clearly mentioned in the article. His work was also exhibited at the Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai ( another of India's prestigious art institutions ) in Nov 2011. Thanking you for your cooperation, in anticipation.

Hi Manning My name is Ashish Acharjee, art historian and curator.

I had edited an article on 'writism', which was existent om Wikipedia for the last couple of years - adding some material from the official website 'www.writism.net, with full permission from the copyright holder, Mr Thomas Abraham. The material was originally removed from Wikipedia, by 'fastily' on 13 Jan 12 , and we wrote to him. After editing the matter we put in the matter again. This time it was removed by 'material scientist' . but in the meanwhile, between 13 Jan and 27 Jan 2012, we had got permission from the copyright holder in writing. He had also sent the permission in writing to Wikipedia in the prescribed format, giving full right to put the matter in the public domain. We communicated this to 'material scientist' last evening. However, today we see that the matter was deleted by you citing that the matter was deleted earlier, so cannot be uploaded. However , the situation on the ground has changed substantially, since the date of the first deletion on 13 Jan 12, as we had in the interim, got the copyright holder to put the matter in the public domain. If needed we can send you a copy of the legal copyright held by Mr Thomas Abraham as well as a copy of his letter sent to Wikipedia giving permission to put the matter in the public domain. We noticed that once we write to one administrator/contributor and convince him/her, somebody else deletes it.Could you suggest how we can avoid deletion in the future, as the process has been going on, back and forth for weeks ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ideaworldwide (talk • contribs) 12:47, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately this may be irrelevant. The material was earmarked for deletion on three different grounds, copyright violation, non-notability and self-promotion. Even if you get around the copyvio, the material will still be deleted on the other grounds. To survive, you must be able to present reliable references from third party publications which indicate the significance of the art movement, and also present the material from a neutral position. Update - in your comment to Materialscientist you made the claim that the Times of India stated that " ...[writism] will likely change the face of painting forever." I have searched the TOI archives and cannot find any supporting evidence for this. However, if you can find a reference, the presenting such evidence will go a long way to meeting our notability requirements. Manning (talk) 22:34, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
