Speedy deletion nomination of Stanford Jim[edit]

A tag has been placed on Stanford Jim requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. I see you've made some changes to the page, but I don't think they'll be enough to stop it violating copyright.

You can

1. Rewrite it yourself. It might be easier to open the current page of the major source in a tab or window next to the page to edit the page and rewrite the article from scratch, rather than try and rewrite the current text.

2. Try and get the copyright holder to release their work under a licence compatible with Wikipedia. As the website is designed to plug his book they might be willing to do this. The contact form is at http://www.economicsforeveryone.ca/contact

3. Use the modified version I wrote (see below) as something to work from. It will need sourcing (mainly from your original source) and padding out, both of which I'm ahppy to help with when I'm on Wikipedia.Dolive21 (talk) 21:08, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Stanford is an Economist from Canada. He writes a column for the Globe and Mail newspaper and works for the Canadian Union Auto Workers Union. He has a Masters degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a Phd from New School University in New York. He is the Author of the book Paper Boom on waste in the Financial Services industry.

I tried to make a synopsis of all the informations i had got. Thanks for your guidance. Keep trying (with me!).
