I visited this article before visiting the real thing. I might appear to be "butchering" it, but it was far too wordy and guidebook-like with huge amounts of repetition for an encyclopedic article. I'll keep at it and add some more vital stuff, like when it opened, visitor numbers. J3Mrs (talk) 20:39, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Black Country Living Museum Edit[edit]

Hi J3Mrs. Thanks for taking an interest in this article. With lots of encouragement from the Wikimedia Foundation, we’ve been trying to get new editors up and running and adding additional information about the Museum and the Black Country. As Wikipedia says there is no practical limit to the number of topics that Wikipedia can cover or the total amount of content, we’ve just kind of ‘gone for it’ to make as much info from our research files available to the public as we can. There are quite a few newbie editors working on this now, hence probably the repetition you mention (although we’re trying to keep an eye on the overall structure).

Still learning at this so advice welcome: we are tackling the building collection first and eventually we hope to cover topics specific to the Black Country like regional aspects of chain making, lock making, mining etc. We’ll therefore be adding lots more over the coming months/years, hopefully all useful to people interested in the area or the subject matters.
