If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 19:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Brad Polard (talk) 19:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC) (moved Jredmond (talk) 19:59, 1 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Humanitarian Services[edit]

Some advice:

  1. Do not place a holdon tag on an article that has not been nominated for speedy--it just lists it for speedy deletion by itself.
  2. Large parts of the article are copied from http://www.lds.org/humanitarianservices/ and its subpages . I have removed them. Please see WP:COPYRIGHT about licensing the text under our free license, but be sure you have authority to do so. In any case, most of it will need rewriting, to say what the projects are, not why people need clean water, etc.
  3. The various claims in the article cannot be sourced to the general website, but must be sourced to specific places, and at least some of this must be references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases , not from the LDS.
  4. I'll be back, to check on progress.. For general advice see our FAQ about businesses, other organisations, and articles like this.
  5. Consider if there is a more specific title. i think this one is confusingly general. DGG (talk) 00:42, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
