Copyright status of Western Refinery[edit]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Western Refinery. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.westernrefining.com/Index.aspx?Level=AboutWestern&Page=AboutWestern in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Western Refinery with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Western Refinery with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Western Refinery saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. July 2007[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to blank out (or delete portions of) page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to El Paso Herald-Post, you will be blocked from editing. Trusilver 01:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If your removal of content was intended to remove the copyright violation, please follow the instructions above. Write out the article in your own words. You can cite the website, but you cannot copy it. It is likely however that the article will soon be deleted as a copyright violation. You may want to create a sandbox for your user page, or write out the article on a separate word-processing program, then copy it and paste it in a recreated article. You can avoid all this by not copying and pasting material from websites to start with-- it is often easy to tell that is what was done. Good luck with your edits. Kablammo 01:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the warning on the basis that what you were doing was a good faith edit to removed copyrighted material from the article. Please use the edit summary box in the future to prevent any such misunderstandings. Have a great day. Trusilver 02:29, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in UTEP Miners[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on UTEP Miners, by 172.167.56.40 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because UTEP Miners is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting UTEP Miners, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:24, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Minor League Football, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 21:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Las Palmas Marketplace, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Realkyhick 03:29, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

:: Please stop. If you continue to ignore our policies by introducing inappropriate pages, such as Sunland Park Mall, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. --Finngall talk 03:50, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, cancel that last one. Sunland Park Mall is actually notable as malls go, but the article does need more work, specifically references. But don't start posting a bunch of other articles about non-notable stuff. Realkyhick 03:54, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And here is what I ended up doing with the rewrite. I think I got carried aay a little bit, but this is pretty much what mall articles should look like. Use this as a guide when you tackle Cielo Vista Mall again, which you are allowed to do since the original version was speedy deleted. You might want to put an {{underconstruction}} tag at the top while you're working on it, which tells editors to basically leave you alone until you're done. You don't have to tackle it all in one sitting (I wish I hadn't). And let me know if you need help. Realkyhick 07:04, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Cielo Vista Mall[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Cielo Vista Mall, by Dicklyon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Cielo Vista Mall seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Cielo Vista Mall, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. --Android Mouse Bot 2 05:21, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Cielo Vista Mall[edit]

A tag has been placed on Cielo Vista Mall, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Benea 22:43, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You need to come up with something closer to what I did with Sunland Park Mall, instead of just putting up what you did the first time, or you will keep being speedy deleted and eventually you will be blocked. Realkyhick 22:48, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's the ticket! Good job. I fixed a couple of typos and style issues, but it looks like it's good to go now. Realkyhick 01:56, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of UTEP Fight Song, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.lyricsondemand.com/miscellaneouslyrics/fightsongslyrics/utepfightsonglyrics.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 06:27, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Hawkguy 70! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Alex Obomese - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Joyce Wilson - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

==Proposed deletion of El Paso Brawlers==

The article El Paso Brawlers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable semi-pro football team fails WP:GNG, WP:GROUPS, and WP:NSPORT. No sources cited (save the team's own defunct website), needing references for over three years.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article KW40FW has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Redundant to the more-expanded K26KJ article; that station was once K40FW (and this article is near-identical to how the K26KJ article, then called K40FW itself, was in July 2008). (There is no such station as KW40FW.)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
