Request for review

User:Imgahn2u created a page Night of the Grizzlies a few days back. This is my attempt to pad out the article. In some ways I'm really annoyed with it, as it seems to be less about the book and more like a description of the events in the book.

I do agree with Imgahn2u in that I feel it is probably an important book, even if only from the point of view of recording a part of the history of the national park service, and Glacier in particular.

My frustration lies in not being able to find anything which provides support in the way of notability for the book itself - no reviews, no indication of sales (other than hearsay "best seller among backpacking community").

Maybe it shouldn't be about the book, and I should rewrite it as an article about that night? Or should I just slap it in the book article and let it develop as it will from there?

Hello, I realize it's been 5 years since you posted this so I'm not sure if you're still interested in the above, but I was browsing around in the bear articles and found yours. I would strongly suggest that you make this into a page about the Glacier Park bear attacks of Aug. 13 1967 rather than about Jack Olsen's book. No dis on Jack Olsen, he's one of my favorite authors and he wrote a good book, but there are a number of really good sources on these particular attacks. They were notable not just because two people got killed by bears for the first time in 50 years but because the killings were likely brought on by bad bear management, and the park service reaction after the killings made it even worse and resulted in the grizzlies nearly going extinct before somebody finally got a clue. In addition to the Olsen book there is a very good PBS documentary on this that came out a couple years ago. I would suggest since you clearly spent so much time on this article you should put it up as an article about the attacks, not about the book, and then we can add to it if necessary.
