Welcome[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article American Idiot (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Closedmouth (talk) 06:09, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Greenday21 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. — Insanity Incarnate 22:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Master tapes[edit]

  • Looks like two of us might have been editing at the same time. The article already exists at Master recording, so I redirected it there. However, please don't create such short articles. You might wish to read WP:STUB and WP:YFA before creating an original article. Thanks! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:51, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary[edit]

It is not necessary to create a redirect page for every green day song and every variation of spelling/punctuation of albums. Please stop making these pages. Nouse4aname (talk) 21:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Band[edit]

Which band do you speak of? Blnguyen (bananabucket) 04:56, 26 June 2008 (UTC) P.S I have never seen the Article. I just got into the band and wanted to find some information. I am not bitter about this. Thank you.--Greenday21 (talk) 14:35, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Greenday21[reply]

I deleted it under WP:PROD because nobody objected to it being deleted. IT did not go through a formal deletion debate. IF you want I can restore it for you. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 03:16, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I undeleted it. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:02, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated American Idiot: The Motion Picture, an article you significantly contributed to, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Idiot: The Motion Picture. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.  Orfen  TC 22:18, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided my reasoning at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Idiot: The Motion Picture. The article itself says that there probably won't be a movie. It also fails WP:NFF which states that: "Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles." Since shooting has not begun and the article is pure speculation and the article itself says there most likely won't be a movie then it fails the notability guidelines required to warrant an article.  Orfen  TC 20:00, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A quick tip for your userpage[edit]

When you're putting userboxes on your userpage, you seem to be simply copying the code from the template page and pasting it into your page. This causes a small problem, as you are also copying the link to the categories into which that userbox falls. Because of this, your userpage currently appears in the categories Category:Musician fan user templates, Category:Computer-related user templates, and Category:WikiProject user templates, which are categories meant for the templates themselves, not the page on which they are placed. A better way to add existing userboxes would be through transclusion or substitution. (See also: Wikipedia:Template namespace and Help:Template.) If you want to create your own userboxes, you can do so with Template:Userbox.) If you still want to copy/paste as you've been doing, you should be careful of <noinclude> (which contains code that should only appear on the template page) and <includeonly> (which only appears on pages where the template is placed) tags in the code. Substitution and transclusion, as linked above, automatically deal with these, which is one reason that they are recommended. I've gone ahead and made the change on your userpage. — Insanity Incarnate 15:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Green Day and the genre war[edit]

You should vent your frustration here. We need to reach a consensus on the issue. — ŁittleÄlien¹8² (talk\contribs) 15:30, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the genre war that I'm referring to, is the one that is currently underway about whether we should restore the genre field to the musician infobox. Use the link I provided you, to voice your opinion. We need all the dissenters we can get. Thanks. — ŁittleÄlien¹8² (talk\contribs) 15:44, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Head strong (Linkin Park song) listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Head strong (Linkin Park song). Since you had some involvement with the Head strong (Linkin Park song) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so.
