My suggestion to you is to visit Wikipedia:Portal peer review and get more responses there. I have taken a quick look at your portal and here're my comments:
- The box on the top looks misplaced and should incorporate back into the main portal.
- Have at least 20 articles per component (e.g. selected article, selected pictures, selected biography) except DYK
- For DYK, just use as much as you can
- Selected articles and selected biographies should preferably be either FA or GA
- Selected pictures which are featured are preferred, but not required

- For the box at the top, I suggest merging the info into the main part and delete the entire box altogether. I have updated Portal:Bulgarian Empire/Selected article/2 so you can see how you can add info to blank entries.[1] (Note: you will need to adjust the image size accordingly because not all images are large in the original file.) As I mentioned, if you don't have 20 FAs, you can use GAs as well. Peer review gives you suggestion and you will reasonably implement what the reviewer suggests you to improve on.
