Hello, I'm Belwine. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Osonye Tess Onwueme because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Osonye Tess Onwueme, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. Information icon Hello, Ginger Weird Man, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Vestegaard (talk · contribs). Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ginger Weird Man. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Osonye Tess Onwueme, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You need to make the formal declarations of your paid editing, not casually mention it in a username request. Cabayi (talk) 10:52, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've just declined a second request for a change of username in which you again make it clear that you're working for Onwueme. You were asked to make declarations of your conflict of interest which you have not yet done. Do not edit until you have done so. Cabayi (talk) 09:42, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Ginger Weird Man! Your additions to Osonye Tess Onwueme have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 18:02, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Much Thanks. I do really appreciate your kind understanding and clarification which has given me better insights on how your process works.

And just to be sure to avoid future errors, please, let me know if it is acceptable to insert the <tessosonwueme.com> to the "External Link" of segment of the Wiki page.

With much regards.

Thank you. Ginger Weird Man (talk) 05:25, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • No, it is not acceptable for you to edit the article. You have an undeclared, paid, conflict of interest. It also appears you have used a second account in your efforts. Cabayi (talk) 09:47, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again Ginger Weird Man. Thanks for being receptive. I second what Cabayi writes above. You should only make suggestions on the talk page – and before you do that, you need to comply with our mandatory paid disclosure requirements.

You can post such a disclosure to your user page at User:Ginger Weird Man. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Ginger Weird Man|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}.

As to inserting the url you suggest, first, the external links section of the article already has a link to her website, and the link you refer to is dead. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:23, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good Day.

In regards to the editing of the wikipedia page for author "Tess Onwueme", I can assure you that there is no conflict of Interest, I just happened to be fond of her books as a research fellow. In researching her creative works, I observed that her old wikipedia page has little information about her, and needs updating.

I also noticed that the website " writertess.com" listed as her official website happens to be a dead website as it is no longer in use for years and it is unsafe and insecure.

It therefore became imperative to update and communicate her current official website as "Tessonwueme.com".

So in this regard, I'd really appreciate the required permission to edit/ add the external link " Tessonwueme.com" as the author's current official website to the wiki external link.

Much Thanks. Ginger Weird Man (talk) 18:13, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All I ask is to just get her legal and safe website attached to her external link. You can go and make the research and you will find out what I am saying. Also a renowned professor/Author as her with no picture attached to her wiki page. I just ask for a chance to make a simple edit, I asked to be watched, and if I violate any rules, then you can block me totally. I have taking my time to read all about wikpedia editing.

Thanks Ginger Weird Man (talk) 03:53, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So here comes the block. Cabayi (talk) 09:00, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

March 2021[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
